This is my poem, however the characters are from Tolkien's novels-The Lord of the Rings. I do not have any claims to his characters, only my poem, if you take my meanin'.....

This poem is written in the perspective of the thoughts running through Eowyn's mind after her first meeting with Aragorn. She begins to feel great love for him but doesn't know of his love to Arwen, elven Princess. As Aragorn leaves for the paths of the dead she sings a soft lament for her departing hope to ever leave her cursed fate of forever being maiden of the Golden Halls.

In the darkest of Shadows..
By C.R.T. White

In the darkest of shadows I lie trapped beneath the very shrouds of solitude..

It is here that I shall remain till my ill fate of utter loneliness is cured...

Send me not to the dark days but spare me, spare me from further pain..

Can you not see that my hope hath perished pitifully when it angerly took thy memories of you...

Hide not my love, yet come unto thee..

For tis' only you that shall every free thee...

Smite the beast of misfortune and its' ill friends, hate and anger..

Come, ride now, come to thee and save thee from thine-self..from my prison.

For if not you, there shall be no other man able to overcome this beast that holds me in black

chains upon the walls of broken hearts and despair

And if is here that I will dwell forever..till the end of the cruel ages of time..

So come now, ride now, save me thy love..Save me and call thee yours..and with that one word

from thy lips I will be so till my dying day.
