Rose Tyler meets the grumpy newly returned DI Alec Hardy in Broadchurch when Rose is made the Torchwood liaison with the Wessex police but Jackie, missing her daughter pays a visit. Rose has arranged to have a few days off but gets an emergency call so it's up to Alec to keep Jackie and Rose's younger brother entertained for the day but has not told her mother they live together.

Ellie Miller thinks it's just her luck to have to train Rose & another DC but even more that Hardy comes back as suddenly as he leaves when he has second thoughts he can survive in Sandbrook.

Rose Tyler has taken up photography and moved to the town of Sandbrook and sets her up her own studio. Alec Hardy has gone back still trying to win his teenage daughter over and suggests she goes with him back to Broadchurch. Before she goes, Tess insists he has some photos taken of her and he takes her to Rose's studio. He then keeps making up excuses to go back and see her.

Two weeks after the Doctor left his clone and Rose to live together, his clone dies, leaving Rose to try and move on from everything she has come to love and enjoy. That is how she finds herself in the small coastal town of Broadchurch. During her time there she meets a strange man who reminds her greatly of the man she lost. First crossover, post JE.

Rose Tyler soon discovers she's in a changed universe when she appears to go nowhere on her last mission and Alec Hardy is her only ally. They are faced with keeping the secret of a ripple in time to stop Torchwood discovering what happened and using it to their advantage. Rose Tyler finally finds the Doctor but as he tries to leave his clone with her, the clone dives back into the Tardis, saying he can't stay with her. Years later, Rose is convinced a detective she sees on TV is him and goes to Broadchurch without telling anyone. Alec Hardy is intrigued when she says she knows him and goes along with it but how long can he keep up the pretence?

Rose Tyler has moved to the Caribbean Island of St Marie after her stepfather persuaded the commissioner to take her on as a trainee police officer. She is there six months before the DI is murdered and Alec Hardy, being on medical leave after solving the Broadchurch murder is sent to solve it. What can possibly go wrong?
