When Sara wakes up in the hospital, her first thought is to find Cid. After 6 years, she concludes she never will. Then Abe approaches her and promises to find Cid if she goes back to 2010 to do jobs for him with a team: The Expendables. Partnered with a rather grouchy Brit with trust issues and doubt in her abilities, Sara wonders just how she is going to survive and get Cid back.

Abe recruits Arthur Bishop to help him start the Loopers because of Arthur's skills and because he has no one after faking his death. Arthur eventually meets Sara and discovers he wants a life after all. Afraid of being vulnerable, Sara leaves him, taking their unborn child with her.
