In the dark, In the Rain
disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh...unfortunately, but...oh wait, I don't own duel monsters either. *sighs* Well, time to sulk for an hour
Yugi sighed as the rain continued to pound on his window. It was annoying, and a little scary. He wasn't exactly afraid of the rain, but having a window directly above your bed and the thought of a tornado was enough to give him at least two or three shivers. Inside his blanket, he pulled out the millenium puzzle. Maybe Yami could keep him company.
"Yami," he whispered, "Can I talk to you...please?"
Yami, transparent yet there, appeared beside him.
"Is everything alright, Yugi?"
Yugi nodded, and sat up.
"It's just a little scary, to have a window directly above me, right after I saw a tornado warning on television."
Yami stared up at the window.
"You can see the rain."
"Yah, I know, that's the bad part." Yugi said, letting out a little laugh at his own silliness.
Yami continued to stare.
"Why?"
Had he been listening to a word Yugi said? At all?
"Well, if a tornado came, it would probably blow right through that window and-"
A clash of thunder suddenly sounded, and Yugi's alarm clock went blank.
"Black out." Yugi said, sighing heavily.
Yami lied down, still staring at the window.
"Do you think that's how fish see the surface of water?" He asked.
Yugi stared at him. Yami already had a small smile forming on his face. Yugi just had to smile back.
"I don't know," he said,"maybe."
Yami cocked an eyebrow.
"Or maybe that's what people see shortly before they drown."
He looked at Yugi's alarm clock.
"So, does this mean all of the light in your house is gone?"
Yugi smiled.
"Well, all of the electrically powered lights at least, but only temporarily."
He layed back down, and stared at the window, trying to see why Yami couldn't take his eyes off of it. However, something wasn't right. He felt...uncomfortable and awkward. Almost...
He glanced over to Yami. Sure enough, the egyptian spirit was staring back at him. Yami began to laugh. Yugi raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
Yami, face buried in one of Yugi's pillows, held up a hand for him to wait. Yugi was too curious to be patient.
"Yami, what are you laughing at? What is it? What's so funny?"
The slightly hysterical Yami fianlly sat up, he was still slightly chuckling.
"What's so funny?" Yugi repeated.
Yami looked down, laughing again. Trying his hardest, he managed to get it out.
"Well, you said-you said,a tornado-might *chuckles* come."
Yugi frowned.
"Yami, that's not funny, that's terrifying."
Yami shook his head.
"No, I just imagined a tornado suddenly coming, and sucking us away."
Yugi continued to frown, very confused.
"That still isn't funny."
Yami shrugged.
"Well, it's funny how I imagined it."
The rain was beginning to die down, and Yugi had already forgotten about his fear.
"Are you still scared?" Yami asked.
Yugi began to turn red.
"I was never scared, why?"
"Well, I thought I might let you get some sleep."
Yugi pulled Yami down with him as his head hit the pillow.
"You can stay, if you want to."
Yami smiled and scooted closer to Yugi.
"Okay, I'll do that then."
As they both began to fall asleep, the power came back on, and the rain, was no more than a slight drizzle.
The End
A/N: Okay, that was very corny, but I wrote this as I slowly wasted my day. I tried to be creative with my boredom. R&R please! I love you!
