A/N Featuring Arwen as a little misunderstood princess! Hope you like it!
None of the characters you recognize from LOTR are mine!
I am Arwen Undomiel, Daughter of Elrond and Celebr and Granddaughter of Celeborn and Galadriel. This is the small silver diary I have decided to keep which I will record my life in. I am 207, just a child to the millennia old Elves in my father's kingdom, Rivendell.
Today at breakfast, Elrohir spilled miruvor all over my green silken gown! I am not sure whether he did it on purpose, but I slapped him hard on the cheek and large, angry red welts began to appear. I fear that Father will punish me as I was in plain sight of his counselors. Sometimes I hate being an Elvish princess; I always have to set examples for the younger Elves.

I didn't get punished! But I am suspicious, Father usually does not except us fighting! Something else is happening and I plan to find out.
Next Day Oh, Eru! It's awful! This morning after breakfast, Father called me into his and Mother's chambers. We talked pleasantly first, but then Father said, "Arwen, we think it is time for you to think about marriage."
I said, "Marriage? Father, you are jesting."
"Nay, Arwen," he said.
Then I fled from the room in tears. Father and Mother came after me of course, but I locked the door and now I am here writing. I can hear them saying, "Arwen! Come out now! You are overreacting; every Elven girl marries someday! Arwen, stop behaving like a child and come out now!"
But I will not. I am but 207 years of age as I explained yesterday, 'tis young to an Elf. How can my parents possibly think about marriage? Do they care for me at all?

Father ordered a locksmith to open the door. I expected him to be terribly angry but he gathered me in a hug and apologized.
When I told him I would not under and circumstances marry he just said, "We will see, child, we will see."
I laughed in his face and told him it would never happen.
I brush my long dark hair as I write. People say I have me Father's hair, it is a custom in my family to have your Father's hair. My mother has long silver curls just like her father, (my grandfather) Celeborn. I remember when I was little how I would climb into my parents' bed and hold Mother's hair, silver as the starlight, to my head and pretend it was mine. Grandmother, Galadriel, has her father, Finarfin's, hair, too. It is a shimmering golden river cascading done her back, catching the morning light. But now I am no longer jealous of Mother and Grandmother's hair. I think my dark hair suits me, it is one of the reasons I am called Evenstar.
It is dinner and I fear Father will not be so understanding if I miss it as some important officials are to attend.

Later
I write by the flickering candlelight in my room, it is far past midnight. The dinner was boring beyond description. The officials would grant my every request so that it was almost amusing. But not quite. It makes me sick to think of those thousand-year-old Elves trying to court me. After dinner there was a ball. I danced every dance. Not because I wanted to, but because all the officials were forever asking, "May I have this dance, milady?" And I could not refuse for Father was always nearby, watching me closely and I knew I would be punished severely should I deny them. There was one particularly annoying official who was always smiling at me and whenever we danced, he would press his body close against mine. He asked me if I would court him and I was forced to say yes. Ugh.
