The Shortest Funniest Fruits Basket Story Ever Written by Melinda The Digimon Poet

Note: Before we begin, I do not hate Tohru. Now that I can get that out of the way, let the story begin!

Junior high school student Tohru Honda was walking on the side of the street all by herself. Maybe she was on an errand for Shigure, or maybe she was on her way to Arisa or Saki's house. Whatever. Regardless of the reason, it appears that she was in deep thought because she did not realize she bumped into a nameless boy.

The nameless boy was surprised to bump into her and even more surprised when she "dispappeared". The six-year old boy panicked and went through her dark blue school uniform to find her. He then saw a rice ball lying in the middle of her clothes. He grabbed it and looked at it.

He then did what any other boy in Japan did when they saw a rice ball.

"Oh yummy! A rice ball!" he said. He then put it into his mouth and chewed it. "It's an oniguri! What a treat!" He then swallowed it. "I wonder where the girl went? In any case I better get home!" So he walked on, without giving the girl and the rice ball any more thought.

And no one ever saw the junior high school student Tohru Honda again.

I imagine that readers would be either horrified or very happy as a reaction to this story or something in between. I really would love to read the reactions. As for the title, I would like to challenge anyone to write a shorter Fruits Basket story with humour in it. Fruits Basket was created by Natsuki Takaya and distributed by TOKYOPOP (very soon).
