Long ago in the Great Everglenn Forest, which no longer exists today thanks to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, there lived a great and powerful clan of Wizards. They were one with nature and nature was one with them. Known only by the name of their city, Carpaithia, they lived in solitude. They can be easily identified by their hand-crafted wands made from a branch from their own specific "spirit tree."
The most powerful of these wizards was known by the name of Nekoro Carpaithian. Under his leadership, the Clan fought for what was right and just. That is what put them on the Dark Lord's blacklist.
Besides being witches and wizards, many members of the Clan were prophets and healers. Some were archers and others were artisans. A few were even warriors, but none of them ever drew a weapon unless told so by the great prophet, whom also happened to be Nekoro.
He had two children with his wife, they were twins. One was gifted with clairvoyance and the other with telekinesis. As to the prophecy laid down by first great prophet, "Children with the gift of psionics without the aid of magic will be borne only when the clan is in grave peril or imminent destruction. Only they will survive."
These two children, who one was male, the other female, were named Kristofer and Kriscasonia respectively. When the clan got word of the children's gifts, it alarmed them, but only barely. As you see, their ways are as nature. A tree can only grow so long before it dies or falls.
As the story goes, a year and a half after their births, the Dark Lord came to the Great Everglenn Forest and burned it to the ground. As the prophecy was written, every member of the Clan was dead except for Kristofer and Kriscasonia.
Although only a year and a half old, young Kristofer, with his spirit tree wand, crafted by his very mind through telekinesis, confronted the Dark Lord after he returned to make sure every member of the Clan was "dealt with."
Putting up a powerful fight against the Lord, Kristofer died at his own hands, He cast a very powerful spell that uses the very user's life-force to increase the spell infinitely. It was the ultimate white magic spell, known only by the Wizards of Carpaithia.
The spell somehow missed, but drained Kristofer of his life-force, killing him. The Dark Lord, not satisfied by Kristofer's failed attempt to destroy him and killing himself instead, cast a spell incinerating Kristofer's lifeless body.
Fortunately, Kriscasonia was hiding in an area not searched by the Dark Lord. She said in her hiding place even long after the Dark Lord took flight.
She remained alive, though everyone in her family had died. She grew by herself, becoming a ranger although at the same time she was prophet, like her father.
