Summary: Mac and Kate run into each other at the mall. What do they talk about?

Lt. Colonel Sarah Mackenzie rushes through the mall to get to the men's clothing store before it closes for the day. She got off early just so she could go and get the birthday gift she was supposed to have gotten three days ago for one Harmon Rabb. Of course she'd forgotten until the last minute when Bud reminded her. *Thank God for Bud* She thought, she ran in and went right to where Harm said he'd seen the perfect shirt. She stood in front of the display and found the shirt, suddenly she noticed another hand reaching for it and looked up.
"Sorry." The girl said.
"It's okay. Excuse me but you look familiar." Mac said, trying to remember where she'd seen her from.
"I don't think we've met." Kate said and extended her hand. "NCIS Special Agent Caitlin Todd."
Mac took her hand and shook it firmly. "Lt. Colonel Sarah Mackenzie, JAG Corps."
"Nice to meet you Colonel."
"You too."
Kate looked at the shirt that Sarah was about to take. "Who are you getting that for?" She asked, she'd looked at the price tag, it was expensive but not entirely out of her price range.
"A friend. His birthday is today and he's hinted he wants this shirt."
"Men."
"Excuse me?"
"Men, they expect women to get them everything."
"You can say that again."
"What is it with men anyway?"
"I think that's plagued women kind ever since the dawn of time." They both share a hearty laugh. "How much is it?"
"Huh?" Kate asked looking at Sarah.
"How much is it?"
"Oh it's $95.00."
"What?!" Mac exclaimed.
"That's what I said when I saw the price tag." Kate had a smile forming on her lips.
"And men gripe and groan when we want something expensive." Mac said, rubbing her forehead.
"Why is that?" Kate said picking the shirt up. It was the next to last one in the display.
"You know I don't know." Mac said, smiling thinking of Harm.
Kate looked the shirt over once more. *This is just the kind of thing Gibbs would want* she thought smiling.
"You getting that for a special friend?" She asked Kate.
"Something like that."
"A special occasion?"
"Nope. Just thought I'd be nice to him and hopefully make him think there's something wrong with me."
"Why?"
"Because he's been an ass all this week and it's gotten on my nerves."
"Tell me about about it." Mac said, thinking of the dumb ass Harm had been and wondering why she was here in the first place.
"But for some reason, I don't know why I decided to come here tonight."
"Yeah." Mac nodded. She picked up the shirt and decided since she was a good friend she'd get it for him. Just because it was his birthday. *The things I do for you Harm*
"I'd like to see the look on his face when I get him this." Kate said smiling.
"Yeah, you're gonna kill him with kindness." Mac said.
"Yeah, that's the goal."
"Well I have to go." Mac said.
"Yeah me too."
"I hope your friend stops being an ass."
"Yeah, I hope your friend has a happy birthday."
"Oh he better, after a almost 100 dollar gift he better." Mac laughed.
"Yeah."
"Bye." Mac said and headed to the checkout counter.
"Bye." Kate called after her. She looked at the shirt one more time and threw it back on the pile. *You're gonna have to earn that Gibbs* she thought and walked out, she headed to her car and back to the NCIS headquarters.
Mac paid for the shirt and walked out. *Happy Birthday, Harm* she sneakily thought and headed to Harm's apartment.
