Chapter 8: Goodbye Friends
Fading in from the darkness, shards of crystals enveloped Link, trapping him inside a gigantic crystal, as it blasted up into the darkness. In an instant, with the flash of light, Link found himself within the Camber Of Sages. Right before Link stood his best friend, a small child dressed up in in green resembling Link and matching her forest green hair, Saria smiled "Thank you Link, I just knew it, I knew you would save me." Smiling back at her, Link was happy his Kokiri friend was alright. "Link you were never meant to live out the simple life of a Kokiri," once again she smile and tilted her head a bit as she continued "just as I wasn't, we both have responsibilities now. I know you will save this world again Link, sorry but now my world is the Sacred Realm. As the Sage Of The Forest, I am happy to present you with the Forest Medallion. Goodbye Link…" Link reached out to grab Saria before she left but all he found was the Forest Medallion, and once Link had secured it to his hands, Link found himself back in Kokiri Forest beside the Great Deku Tree. Link's eyes slowly widen, as he stared upon the Great Deku Tree, Link saw a giant rotting tree, and then it entered his mind, the corruption of the forest must have poisoned the Great Deku Tree. Pulling out his ocarina, Link quickly began to play the Song Of Healing, just as he did when he first return to bring the Great Deku Tree back to life, several times Link repeated the song not really understanding all the mystical properties of the Song Of Healing, he kept continuing to play as streams of tears poured from his eyes.
"There's nothing more you can do Link… Just let him rest in peace now." Navi comforted Link, as she perched on his right shoulder. Slowly the Song Of Healing faded into the distance as Link stopped playing, and gazed once more upon the ruined tree, reminding him of when he had first saw the Great Deku Tree die and rotted in front of his own eyes.
"Friends die… It is only natural but we most always keep the memories of them alive, especially the memories of happiness not sadness." A faint but familiar voice rang through the ears of Link and Navi. Following the voice, Link and Navi had stopped behind a giant root, to find the Deku Sprout (a sprout from the roots of the Great Deku Tree, sort of like his son). Hearing what the Deku Sprout had said, the pain inside Link had started to disappear and as the time passed Link steadily stopped crying. Knowing all that the Deku Sprout had to say, Link held up a hand and shook his head to stop him. Taking a last look back towards the direction of the Forest Temple, Link had decided, he had decided not to involve Sheik and Skull Kid, for this was his fight and his alone with the help of his reliable fairy, Navi.
"I know all you have to say… I must leave you now for I have my own battle to fight…" and with that, Link blasted off with tears flowing off his face. Knowing that he'll have to leave his friends behind in fear that they might get hurt by trying to help, Link had to push on, he sat himself down right below his old tree house. Shutting his eyes, Link thought back to the times when he was with his friends and memories started to pour in. Starting with the time he found Navi, continuing to when he got back to Kokiri Forest and stayed with all his friends, going on to when he arrived at Lon Lon Ranch welcomed by Talon and Malon, after to the time at Death Mountain when he met Darmani and his brother Kaisa, and the time he visited Princess Ruto and Jabu-Jabu. Remembering the time when Skull Kid had saved him, to the time he and Skull Kid reached Princess Zelda, Link stood up and smiled. "That sprout will grow to be just like the Great Deku Tree… Being always right." Knowing that he alone was the Hero Of Time, that he would have to leave his friends behind for this is his battle, Link pulled out his Ocarina, and so began to play the Bolero Of Fire. In a flash Link was transported to Death Mountain Crater, where deep within boiled a lava-filled crater, the volcanic core generating sweltering heat that few, other than the thick-skinned Gorons, could withstand. Beyond the fire and brimstone smouldered the Fire Temple, a shrine the Gorons revered until Ganondorf transformed it into a hotbed of chaos and evil. Feeling the burning heat that filled the crater, Link with just the thought of it magically changed his outfit to the Goron Tunic (made from a sporty blend of Dodongo hides and Bomb Flower fibers) which closely resembled his old outfit other then the fact that it was a dark red colour.
"Finally you're here, I mean what took you so long?" a voice came behind Link. Turning around, to Link's surprise he was faced with his two friends Sheik and Skull Kid. "What hap…" Skull Kid was suddenly stopped by Link.
"Get out of here both of you… This is my battle not yours," Link spins around facing the Fire Temple, and back towards his friends, "I must do this alone…" Sheik's eyes flinched, as she continued on giving a piercing stare at Link's back. In the moment Link started to walk towards the Fire Temple, Sheik turned an proceeded to the exit, but Skull pursued Link and just as he was within reach, he realized it and turned to catch up with Sheik. Continuing across the stone bridge, Link entered a cave and slowly climbed down a long ladder, he turned and faced the Fire Temple.

No more excuses for me, I am lazy, lazy and lazy that's why I haven't got to writing much but your reviews kept me going so please keep them coming.
