LOTR Fan Poetry, by Smoke_Rulz
DISCLAIMER & AUTHOR'S NOTE
The Lord of the Rings and all locations mentioned herein were created by the late, great, J.R.R Tolkien. I claim no ownership to anything except this poem itself and the character narrating it.
(I hate disclaimers...) So anyway, Smoke here with some shiz, and it's NOT Super Smash Brothers related! HOLY CRAP! ... But seriously, I was over a friend's house doing a weekend RPG fest like we always do. We started our 2nd ever Lord of the Rings game at 20 Advancements, for which I created a Female Sindarian Elf, Rogue/Ranger/Archer. (Haha, I bet I made no sense.) Regardless, I played my character as a beast of archery, and also a quiet person who wrote poetry as she remained awake through the hours of the night. I actually started writing an actual poem while playing in-character, and finished it not long after. Sooo... I decided to post it here, so that you may gaze upon it. :)
Enjoy. Or don't. If you don't, shame on you. I wish you would lighten up. It's just a poem, for Din's sake.
"By fire of day and shadow of night
I wander upon the Earth so mysterious
Like oceans the trees of Mirkwood spread
A line of snow-topped towers looms overhead
Beyond such naturalities lies the land of Arnor
My home away from home, a land most unknown
How I long to fully see the world below
Stories of kingdoms I observe, but alas, not seen
Years so pass like leaves of the aging tree
Falling through time to the gazing eye of nothing
While it continues on, I journey never-ending
The fire of Mordor, beauty of Gondor, oh the sights
Of North I come, trained in ways of the ranger
My Elven ears and eyes take me down my path
Forever shall I move across this world so fair
Until Valinor calls me to the land of the end
Hence then shall my days of rogue end
It shall be a life worth ending, and so be it."
