Chapter One: Unexpected Encounter
"Okay. So looks like I'm getting close to that town that Master Fung asked me to go to so I can pick up some stuff for him." Alexis says as she is walking through the woods.
"Ugh! Come on! Work already!" A boy's voice says as Alexis goes toward it curiously.
"Huh? Ah!" Alexis says in alarm as she walks through some bushes and falls before finding herself on a ledge hanging onto a branch.
"Oh my gosh! Help! Rai! Omi! Anyone! Please help!" Alexis shouts in alarm as she sees the long drop below her.
"Hey hold on. I'll pull you up. Just take my hand." A voice says revealing to be a boy as a hand reaches down toward Alexis.
"Got it." Alexis says as she grabs the boy's hand.
"Hang on." The boy says as he pulls Alexis up to safety.
"Phew. That was close." Alexis says as she pants in relief.
"No kidding. Watch where you're going. Didn't you see the cliff?" The boy says as he and Alexis don't look at each other.
"Not really where I was going through the bushes. Anyway thanks for the he- Ah! You!" Alexis shouts as she sees Jack is the one who helped her.
"You!" Jack says as he sees Alexis.
"You saved me? Why did you do that?" Alexis asks curiously.
"To be perfectly honest I don't know and don't get used to it. I only did it because Omi has been nice enough to give me a hand in the past." Jack says.
"You still didn't have to. But anyway thank you." Alexis says kindly.
"You're welcome I guess. But don't tell anyone. I got a reputation to uphold." Jack says.
"No problem. I understand that." Alexis says.
"How do you understand something like that?" Jack asks curiously.
"Wolf shifter Jack. Remember? I'm supposed to always be at my best and such. Especially where I'm your age and I've been a monk the longest. I'm supposed to set an example. So I get having a reputation to keep." Alexis says as she smiles kindly.
"I guess you do in a way." Jack says.
"What were you doing out here anyway?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Ugh. One of my stupid robots blew a fuse. I can't get the stupid thing to work." Jack says annoyedly.
"Would you like some help?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Me? Jack Spicer Evil Boy Genius take help from Xiaolin Monk? Pfft. Don't be ridiculous." Jack says as he scoffs.
"You want the help or not?" Alexis asks as she crosses her arms.
"Yes please." Jack says.
*Timeskip*
"Ah. There you go. All fixed up." Alexis says as she finishes helping Jack fix his robot.
"Thanks. You're pretty handy with a wrench." Jack says as he smiles kindly at Alexis.
"Meh. I dabble in some areas of machies." Alexis says as she chuckles slightly causing Jack to blush.
"Guess you monks aren't so bad sometimes." Jack says.
"Could say the same about you." Alexis says as she smiles.
"Hey!" Jack says as Alexis chuckles.
"Oh relax. I'm kidding. Anyway I should go. Master Fung will be wondering what happened to me." Jack says.
"Oh right. I guess I should head back too. Same with Wuya." Jack says.
"You know I wouldn't mind to hang out a bit one day. You know when we're not fighting." Alexis says kindly.
"You'd wanna hang out with me?" Jack asks in surprise.
"Sure." Alexis says kindly.
"I'd like that." Jack says as he smiles.
"Well see you around." Alexis says as she shifts to wolf form and runs off.
