Disclaimer: Even though Lord of the Rings is only "implied" in my poem, I decided to put this in anyway. I don't own Tolkien. If I did, would I be writing my stories for fanfiction.net? I think not.
.
This is a poem that I wrote about a certain member of the fellowship. You should be able to figure out who it is.
.
.
I walked all night to come upon morning,
The stars shone brightly then;
The woods were dark, the sky was stormy
Til I found daybreak again.
.
The rolls and rills and rocks and hills
Have open arms for me.
I travel long, I travel hard
For there are lands to see.
.
I now understand, as not all men do
The power of truth, to say and to do.
The war is over, the battle is won,
We see less of the shadow and more of the sun.
.
I found my love, my star in the heavens,
I know she waits for me;
But sad I am, for all her kindred
sail across the sea.
.
A king am I, a leader of people
fair as the eye can see;
In men's lands far, in men's lands wide
There is no king but me.
.
I understand more, as I lay dying
What lays in store for me;
What's left will be my shell, my body
When I finally cross the sea.
