A/N - Okay, I know, stop with the new stories. Focus on what you've already got! I know, believe me. My muse is being a pain though. I can't just sit down and focus on one thing. lol.
Anyways, there's some genderbending in this fic as well. The characters that have been slapped with the ol' Rule 63 so far are:
Karina (Fem. Kakashi)
Satsuki (Fem. Sasuke)
Izumi (Fem. Itachi)
Whether Satsuki and Izumi are in the harem or not, I dunno just yet. All I know is that I wanted to do a Naruto x Fem. Kakashi fic. Sounded interesting to me. lol. Sooo, here's what I came up with! I honestly had no idea what I was going to do with this story. I had such a hard time getting my brain to work. x.x;;
Also, I am quite aware that there's already an Izumi Uchiha. However, it was the best name I could think of. So :P
Okay, not much else to say. Sooo...read on and enjoy!
Chapter 1 – A New Beginning
As she stared down at the names listed on the memorial stone, or rather, one name in particular, Karina frowned sadly beneath her mask. Obito Uchiha. She had loved him dearly, not just as a teammate, but as a potential romantic interest. Despite the fact that they didn't get along at first, partly in fact due to Karina's ego getting in the way, she had grown quite fond of him and wanted so badly to tell him how she felt. However, she never truly got the chance she was looking for.
Karina is a beautiful woman standing at a height of 5' 5" tall with long, flowing silver hair. Her headband was slanted down, covering one of her eyes. The eye that remained visible was a dark grey, almost black in color. She was clad in a dark blue, almost black shirt and pants that hugged her form nicely. She had a shapely rear and sizeable breasts, being a large C-cup, almost D, in size. Over this, she wore a Jonin flak jacket. If she were to take off her facemask, one could see that her face was truly a sight to behold.
Staring at Obito's name for a while longer, she began to think about the situation she now found herself in. She had been assigned a Genin team consisting of two girls and a boy. Their names were Satsuki Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, and Naruto Uzumaki. From what information she had bothered to obtain, Sakura wasn't very impressive. She came from a civilian family and had very little chakra to speak of. She didn't train all that often and her spars had usually devolved into catfights, rather than a test of true taijutsu. It was hard to tell if she was a fangirl for someone or if she just didn't care or understand the dangers of their job.
Satsuki was a distant relative of Obito's. The girl had issues, considering her older sister literally massacred their clan, leaving Mikoto and Satsuki as the only survivors of that night. Satsuki had it in her head that she needed to avenge her clan by killing her older sister. However, Mikoto had helped her daughter and they were both getting counseling from Inoichi Yamanaka to help them deal with what they had been through. So, while Satsuki did, indeed, have problems, they weren't as bad as they could be otherwise.
Thinking on it for a while, Karina figured that she would at least give Satsuki a chance and see about training her personally once she awakened her Sharingan. It would be the least she could do for a relative of Obito's. Maybe it would help to make amends to her long lost teammate.
Then, the final member of the team was Naruto Uzumaki. She knew he was the son of her late sensei, Minato Namikaze. However, she had avoided him thus far because she didn't know how she'd be able to handle being around him. She was afraid of interacting with him, but she wasn't entirely sure why. Thinking on him for a while, she realized that she didn't know much, if anything, about him. All she knew was that he was the dead last of his class, he enjoyed pranks, and supposedly he wanted to be Hokage someday. If his skills were really as bad as she assumed, then it was pretty obvious he had not inherited his parents' talents. And yet, she felt as if Naruto could be something truly special. But at the same time, she felt nervous about meeting him. She just couldn't put her finger on why.
Frowning slightly, she realized that this new team of hers would probably fail her test as well and, unfortunately, they'd probably be sent back to the academy. However, she sincerely wanted to pass them, if only so she could honor Obito's memory, to an extent. Again, she wasn't sure how to feel about Naruto, and she didn't hold out any hope for Sakura. However, she had been surprised before, so who knows? Shrugging her shoulders, she decided that she had kept her team waiting long enough. It was time to go and collect the three teenagers and see what she could make of them.
Naruto
We find a 16 year-old Naruto sitting by himself in the classroom, away from his 'teammates'. He couldn't understand why he had been placed on a team with Satsuki and Sakura. Sure, Satsuki wasn't as bad as some people, but they still didn't get along all that well. And Sakura was always insulting him and hitting him for the simplest of reasons. Usually, there wasn't a good reason at all for her abuse of him.
Sighing to himself as he looked at the time, he saw that they had been waiting for three hours now and he was honestly getting fed up with it. Sakura had been trying to get Satsuki's attention this entire time, trying to talk to her and see about impressing her and whatever the hell it was she was rambling on about. Naruto barely paid her any mind, choosing instead to rest his eyes and think over his situation.
Naruto had known for a very long time that he held the Kyuubi no Yoko within himself. It wasn't hard to figure it out, considering his birthday, the fact the villagers called him 'Demon brat' and names like it, as well as the fact that he had an unnaturally high healing factor. But more than that, he also knew who his father was. Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage himself. He didn't know who his mother was, but he figured he got the Uzumaki name from her. The people were either blind to the fact that he's the Fourth's son, they were in denial, or they just didn't care either way.
The blonde was quite aware of how the instructors favored Satsuki while doing what they could to sabotage him, though why they did this he wasn't quite certain. With Mizuki, it became obvious when he tried to convince Naruto to steal the Scroll of Seals. Naruto had easily seen through Mizuki's 'deception' and informed the Hokage of the idiot's plan. As a reward, he had been allowed to learn the Shadow Clone Technique from the Scroll of Seals and pay for a B-rank mission. Mizuki was also enjoying his time with the T & I department.
Iruka, on the other hand? Naruto had no idea why that man seemed to be out to get him from day one. Iruka didn't seem to truly hate him, but Iruka didn't exactly care either. And when asked for help and/or advice on something, Iruka would blatantly dismiss him without even hearing him out. You'd think that if they had such a problem with Naruto, they'd do everything they could to be rid of him as soon as possible so they wouldn't have to tolerate his presence any longer than they had to. Weird how that works out.
Naruto's thoughts then drifted to the Hokage. Naruto didn't trust the man, nor did he trust anyone on the council. Naruto hid the fact that he knew about the Kyuubi and acted like Mizuki's sudden 'revelation' came as a surprise to him. Naruto had then proceeded to ask the Hokage if he would finally tell him who his parents were, only for the old man to spout out that same bullshit as usual: "I don't know."
Grumbling irritably to himself, Naruto was broken out of his musings when the door opened. Opening his eyes, he stared down at the woman that had just entered the classroom. When their eyes met, Naruto blinked as he felt a strange sort of pull coming from her. From the way her eye widened, she felt it too. Weird. Naruto thought to himself.
Karina frowned for a moment as she tried to make sense of the weird feeling she got when she looked at the sole male in the room. It felt like a strange tug, almost as if there was something connecting them that was trying to pull her towards him. And based on his reaction, Naruto felt it too.
Shaking that thought off, the female Jonin looked at her team of Genin and said, "Team 7? My first impression of you is…" Chancing a glance at Naruto again, she shook her head and said, "Never mind. Meet me on the roof in five minutes. Don't be late."
When Karina disappeared, Naruto frowned to himself before standing up and leaving the room without a word. Satsuki and Sakura followed after him a moment later. Upon stepping out onto the rooftop, Naruto stared hard at their new sensei before taking a seat as far away from Sakura as he could get.
Once everyone was seated, Karina went to speak, only for Naruto to beat her to the punch. "You kept us waiting for a little over three hours. Next time, either be on time or I won't show up at all. And before you go pulling rank on me, I have this to say to you: respect is earned, not to be given freely. Punctuality is important, especially when we're on missions or when we have to be somewhere at a specific time. You are NOT setting a good example for us by being over three HOURS late."
Karina frowned behind her mask, but she couldn't refute his point. Sighing irritably to herself, she soon shook it off and looked at her other two Genin. "And how do you two feel about this?"
Sakura frowned and rubbed one of her arms with the other before saying, "While I wouldn't agree with how Naruto said it…I agree with him. Aren't we, as shinobi, supposed to be punctual and arrive on time, or perhaps even earlier than scheduled? Just imagine if we kept a client waiting for three hours. It certainly wouldn't set a good example."
Satsuki simply shrugged and said, "Don't make a habit of arriving late to team meetings, sensei. I'd like it if you took training the three of us seriously."
The cycloptic Jonin nodded and hummed in thought for a time. Closing her eye, she said, "Well, at least you three are showing some form of cooperation with one another. That's a good sign. However, you forget that I'm your superior. Despite what you may think of me, you need to…"
"Show you some respect. I know. One thing you need to know about me ma'am is that I've already had to put up with the old man's crap all this time and won't show respect to those who haven't earned it. If the old man would be honest with me for a change, I might show him some respect. If you treat us like we aren't worth your time, which is exactly what's happened so far, I'll treat you exactly the same way. I want us to get along sensei. I'm tired of people lying to me, I'm tired of people mistreating me, I'm tired of people treating me like I don't matter. Like I'm just some kind of nuisance to them. Please…don't be like the rest of the assholes in the village. That's all I'm asking from you here." Naruto said, interrupting Karina once more.
Karina frowned and asked, "What do you mean, Naruto? Who's lying to you? Just how many people treat you like you don't exist?"
Naruto sighed and massaged the bridge of his nose. "Surprisingly, and somewhat sadly, not as many people as there are that have tried to kill me simply for existing. If you combine the two together, it's pretty much the entire village. Either I'm an abomination that they need to destroy, or they treat me like I don't exist. Either way, it hurts. And the old man's always lying to me. I've asked him time and again who my parents are…and he never tells me. He refuses to even tell me if they loved me. I'm damn sure I know who my father is, but…" Sighing again, he looked into Karina's eye and said, "It's not like anyone would believe me if I said anything."
Sakura frowned at him an was about to say something, but Karina beat her to the punch. "Naruto…these people…they've hurt you before? Has Hokage-sama ever done anything about it? Please don't lie to me."
Naruto frowned and said, "There's no point in me lying to you or anyone else. And yes, I've been hurt before by the villagers. I don't know if the Hokage ever did anything though, because I saw a number of them out and about the next few days, looking smug as can be. I don't know if he refused to punish them or if the council pulled something, but they've gotten away with their attempted murder plenty of times before. How can I put my trust in the old man after he allows people that tried to KILL me to go free? Hell, I'd be happy if he just told me that my parents loved me. That I'm not just some reject they didn't want and abandoned on the Hokage's doorstep or whatever."
Sighing heavily, the blonde closed his eyes for a moment to try and gather himself and his thoughts. After a time, he opened them again and looked into Karina's eye. "My father was Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage…wasn't he? If you don't know for sure, that's fine. You're all free to dispute it and tell me I'm wrong. I'm used to it by now. I just want an honest answer for once."
Sakura scowled at him and said, "Of course the Fourth's not your father you idiot! Don't try to slander…!"
Karina held up a hand and said, "Be quiet Sakura." Seeing the pinkette shut up, the silver-haired Jonin looked Naruto right in the eye and said, "I don't know why the Third hasn't told you anything about your parents, as it's not my place to question his decisions. However, I agree that a child should know that they were loved at the very least." Sighing heavily, she shook her head and said, "I'm going to get in a LOT of trouble for this, I just know it. Naruto…"
Before Karina could say anything in either confirmation or denial to Naruto's guess, an Anbu appeared and said, "Sorry to interrupt, but Hokage-sama would like to see you and your team in his office NOW."
Naruto scowled and clenched his fists tight. "Of course. Spying on me with that crystal ball of his again, I bet. I should smash that damn thing. See what he does then."
Karina frowned and shook her head. "No, that would only cause you more problems in the end. Come along team. We're ready Boar." And with that, the Anbu disappeared with Team 7, making their way to the Hokage's office.
Upon arrival, Naruto narrowed his eyes at the Hokage angrily, but didn't say anything. No, his glare said enough in and of itself. Seeing this, Hiruzen sighed and shook his head in disappointment. "Naruto-kun, how did you find out?" he asked after a time.
"So you aren't denying it then?" Naruto asked. When he didn't get a response, Naruto walked over to Minato's picture on the wall and stood beside it. "Just look at us side-by-side. Hell, I've got his hair and eyes, got the same kind of build, how could he not be my father?"
Seeing this, even Sakura couldn't deny the similarities between father and son. Satsuki simply raised an eyebrow in curiosity, but didn't say anything. Karina simply giggled to herself before looking at the Hokage. "You have to admit, he has a point, Hokage-sama."
Hiruzen sighed and facepalmed. "Yes, indeed he does. It's such a striking similarity, it's amazing nobody has figured it out yet. Unless…" Eyes widening for a moment, he looked into Naruto's eyes and said, "No…they wouldn't do that…would they?"
Naruto scowled and said, "People either know and refuse to accept it, or they're simply in denial, refusing to believe I'm Minato's son. And even if they DID accept me as his son, they would STILL try to kill me simply because I house the Kyuubi no Yoko. And no, I don't care that I just told my teammates my 'big' secret. Face it old man, somebody leaked it to the public that I'm the jinchuriki, but made sure to spin it in a way to make me seem like the monster itself. Not sure why they did that, but whoever's responsible for it is the reason my life's been a shitstorm pretty much from the moment I was born."
Karina looked into Hiruzen's eyes and asked, "Why did you let his abusers go free? Was it the council?"
The Third sighed and massaged the bridge of his nose. "Some I punished, others I had to let go. Their relatives on the council, be they shinobi or civilian, have too much pull. They can make certain things quite…difficult. I'm only one man and I can only do so much. As for the person that leaked your status, Naruto-kun, I'm willing to place my money on Danzo Shimura being the culprit. But without proof, there's not a damn thing I can do about it right now."
Naruto scowled and said, "Then get some damn proof. Pool your resources together and get something done. Don't let the assholes behind everything get away with their shit all the time! Otherwise I will investigate on my own time and I'll get things done my way. And I promise you now, if I get attacked again, I'm going to kill whoever attacks me and drop them on your doorstep. Or maybe I should deliver them to the council and send them a message? Either way, I'm done taking all of their shit. Now please, old man, tell me who my mother was. I want to know that they loved me and didn't curse me to this hell just so the village would have a fucking weapon."
Before Hiruzen could say anything, Karina spoke up. "Naruto, I promise you that your parents would NEVER have wanted this life for you. Minato was my sensei when I was younger. I've never seen him happier than when he found out his wife was pregnant with you. Your mother's name was Kushina Uzumaki. You are probably one of, if not the last surviving member of the Uzumaki clan."
Naruto frowned as he turned to her and asked, "If you knew who I was…why weren't you there for me growing up? It would have been nice to have a friend, if not a sister figure to grow up with. And…they had to have somebody picked out to take care of me if they died. So where are my godparents or whatever?"
Karina flinched before looking away. "I…I was scared, Naruto. I didn't know how to approach you, and…and I always got this feeling. I can't explain it, but I just…I was afraid. Okay? I'm here now though."
Naruto sighed and ruffled his hair up a bit in frustration. After a moment, he decided to just ignore her and turn his attention onto Hiruzen Sarutobi. "Well?"
Hiruzen held up a finger before he took out his pipe and prepared it before taking a hit. He really needed a good smoke right now to calm his nerves. "Your godfather is Jiraiya of the Sannin. Your father trusted him to look after you should anything happen to him. Unfortunately…Jiraiya has been negligent in his duties. He's sent you gifts and money from time to time, but…he hasn't really tried to reach out and show you that somebody cares. As bad as you think I've been to you…I still worry for you and your wellbeing, Naruto-kun. I'm giving you this advice now in the hopes that you'll listen to me and be careful. Don't trust Jiraiya. He's obsessed with some prophecy he heard ages ago from the toads of Mount Myoboku that says he's supposed to train the legendary Child of Prophecy. I don't put any stock into such things, but just in case…I'd avoid him like the plague. Chances are, he'll try to approach you when you're at your most desperate and offer you training of some kind. Only, his style of training isn't that great. Yes, he may have trained your father, but…"
"Yeah, I get it. If he's negligent as a godfather, he's probably a negligent mentor as well. The whole 'hands-off' approach." Naruto griped out.
Hiruzen simply nodded. "As for your godmother…Kushina insisted that you have two, just in case anything bad happened. Mikoto Uchiha and Tsume Inuzuka. Before you get angry and go on a rant about how they weren't there for you, hear me out. Mikoto wanted to adopt you right away, but her husband, well, let's put it this way: Fugaku was an asshole. He fought with her every step of the way and he refused to even let her so much as say hi to you. As for Tsume…she wanted to adopt you as well, but seeing as you fell under the 'care' of the civilian council at the time, they blocked all attempts at adopting you just so you wouldn't have anybody growing up. Makes you easier to kill and all that."
Naruto clenched his fists angrily and said, "Old man…you might need to look into hiring a new civilian council, because I'm going to kill your current one."
The Third simply massaged his forehead and said, "As much as I'd like to let you do that, I'm going to have to ask you to refrain from doing such a thing. Besides, killing them won't accomplish anything. At least not anything productive for you, that is."
"Ugh. Hate to admit it, but you've got a point. Still, it'd make me feel a bit better." Naruto said with a shrug. "Anyways, if it's not too much trouble, I'd love to meet Mikoto and Tsume. I'd like to sit down and talk with the both of them. Unless you have some objection to that, Satsuki?" he asked, turning to look at the lone Uchiha in the room.
Satsuki was a beautiful young woman with black hair that stretched halfway down her back and black eyes. She stood just slightly shorter than Naruto did and was clad in a dark blue shirt and white pants. Seeing as she was still a growing woman at 16 years of age, her breasts were currently a mid C-cup with plenty of room to grow. All-in-all, she was a beautiful sight and Naruto had to admit to himself that he did find her attractive, but he couldn't say he was all that interested in her. Most likely because she could be a bitch sometimes.
Satsuki looked at Naruto for a time before eventually shrugging. "If circumstances had been different, we'd have been siblings. I don't see any reason to deny you meeting your godmother."
"Thanks, Satsuki." Naruto said with a smile on his face. Turning back to the Hokage, Naruto frowned for a moment before asking, "Did my parents leave me anything? An inheritance of some sort?"
Hiruzen nodded and said, "Indeed they did. I'll have it ready for you soon. For now, why don't you four go out and get something to eat? You still need to go through with your introductions and then tomorrow you have your true Genin test. Unless of course you want to simply skip that and pass them now, Karina?"
The silver-haired Jonin frowned in thought for a moment before saying, "I'd like to give them the test first, just to be sure of something. I'll decide if they pass or not after that."
"Very well. Now shoo. You all have some introductions to get to." Hiruzen said before shooing them away.
"You heard him. How does Ramen Ichiraku sound to the three of you?" Karina asked with an eye-smile.
"That sounds wonderful to me." Naruto said with a smile on his face.
Ramen Ichiraku
As they sat down and placed their orders, Naruto looked curiously at his new sensei and asked, "Sensei, why do you wear that mask? If you're going for the whole 'cool and mysterious' thing, I guess I can understand. But it just doesn't fit you. I think you'd probably look better without it. Just saying."
Karina blinked a couple of times before giggling to herself. "You're an honest person, aren't you Naruto? I think I'll leave the mask on for the time being." she said, smirking at him. "Now, here's how we're going to do this. I'll give an example of the kind of introduction I'm looking for here. Pay attention now." Eye-smiling at everyone again, she began her introduction. "My name is Karina Hatake. I like a few things, such as the Icha Icha book series and training. I dislike a few things, such as personal issues I'd rather keep to myself right now. I might have some hobbies, though nothing I feel like sharing. And my dream? I don't really have one at the moment. Now, your turn Sakura."
Everyone sweatdropped after hearing her introduction. We barely learned anything about her. they thought as one. After a moment, Sakura decided to just get on with it. "My name is Sakura Haruno. I like cute guys and my friends. I dislike people making fun of me for my forehead, and I dislike a few people as well. My hobby is, erm…gardening. And my dream is to be happy with the person I love. I don't mind if we can have a family or not, just so long as I get to be with that person someday."
The other members of Team 7 raised their brows in curiosity. They each noticed the way Sakura had phrased it, but they weren't going to question her. Instead, they thanked Ayame and Teuchi for their meals, said "Itadakimasu" and began to eat. After a moment, Satsuki decided she would go next. "My name is Satsuki Uchiha. I like tomatoes, my mother, and training. I HATE Izumi for what she did. I dislike annoying people and certain types of flowers. My hobby is training to get stronger…and keeping a careful eye out for those I cherish. My dream is…well, I'm not sure how to put it, exactly, but I want to make Izumi answer for her crimes and find out the truth behind why she did what she did to our family. I would also like to restore my clan someday, no matter how long it takes. But…I also want to have a loving husband and raise a beautiful family together."
"Those are wonderful dreams." Karina said with a sincere smile on her face. She had slid her mask down so she could eat her ramen in peace, and just as the others had suspected, their sensei was a real beauty.
Naruto, fighting off a blush, scratched at his nose and decided to get his introduction out of the way. "Name's Naruto Uzumaki. I like Anko-chan and Hana-chan. They've both been really good friends to me. I like ramen a LOT. I like these two, Teuchi and Ayame, because they've never once treated me like I'm a monster and they feed me too, which helps." he said with a chuckle. "I dislike bullies, rapists, being lied to, and generally most of the people in Konoha. My hobbies? Umm, I like gardening. I don't have much of a garden, but I love tending to the few plants I have at home. I also enjoy training a lot whenever I get the chance to. As for a dream? I…I just want to be happy. If that means I get to settle down with someone I come to love and get to have a wonderful, loving family with that woman, then I'll be happy with that. I don't have any really big ambitions, honestly."
Karina frowned sadly at him and said, "There's nothing wrong with that, Naruto. Everyone deserves the chance to be happy. It's just a shame that people would rather hurt you and take away any happiness you might have felt. They take happiness for granted and do what they can to deprive you of it. It's not fair. I'm sorry you've had to go through such hell."
Naruto shrugged and said, "Nothing that can be done about it now. I don't see the point in dwelling on it for too long. It just pisses me off when I think about it too much. Now that I'm a Genin, and I will pass your test tomorrow, I'm not going to take anymore of their abuse. From now on, I fight back."
"Just be careful, Naruto. Don't push your luck. You know how the council can be, especially regarding you. Play it smart." Karina said. The blonde simply shrugged again, but didn't say anything else. Instead, he focused on finishing his meal.
Once they had finished, Karina paid the tab for everyone before saying, "You're dismissed. Meet at Training Ground #3 tomorrow at 8 AM sharp. Don't be late, and, if you know what's good for you, don't eat breakfast. You'll only throw it all back up later. Naruto, don't forget to go and get what's yours from Hokage-sama. See you all tomorrow."
Naruto and the others watched as Karina vanished. Afterwards, Naruto began walking off towards the Hokage tower. However, he stopped after a moment before glancing over his shoulder. "Is there a reason you two are following me?"
Satsuki put her hands in her pockets and shrugged. "Nothing better to do. Besides, I need to take you to see Mom. Not sure why she's following." she explained before looking at Sakura.
Sakura blushed a bit at being put on the spot like this. Quickly shaking it off, she said, "S-Sorry. I just think it might be a good idea to see what you're going to be living now, if you end up moving into the home your parents probably left for you. That, and I was a little curious. Besides, I saw Satsuki following you, so…"
Naruto sighed and said, "Okay, Satsuki I can understand. But Sakura? You've been horrible to me. Treated me like shit almost the entire time we were in the academy. I don't care if your parents told you to or not either. Your actions hurt. So I'm sorry if I don't exactly trust you right now."
Sakura flinched and suddenly found the ground very interesting to look at. "I-I'm sorry Naruto. You're right, I should've at least tried to get to know you before blindly following what my parents told me. But…"
"Yeah, yeah, I get it. They're your parents. Questioning them wasn't even a thought in your mind. I don't want to hear it. If you want me to trust you, you've got your work cut out for you. For now, let's just go. I want to get this over with. I feel exhausted right now." Naruto said before turning and walking off with the two girls following after him a moment later.
Later
"So, this is where I'm going to be living from now on, huh? It's…really big. Bigger than I would have expected." Naruto commented as he looked at the home his parents had left him. He was currently standing beside the Hokage with Satsuki and Sakura standing nearby.
Hiruzen nodded and motioned towards the gate. "Go ahead and smear some of your blood on the gate. It'll only open for you. I think you'll like living here. And now that I think on it, do you need help packing your things and getting moved in?"
Naruto frowned in thought for a moment before he drew blood and smeared it across the closed gate. As it swung open, he looked at Hiruzen and said, "There's not much I want to bring here. Just give me a couple of sealing scrolls and I can get it all packed up and moved myself. Now, I'd like to get inside and see what my new home is like."
As Hiruzen and the others followed him inside, the old man decided to explain something to Naruto. "Naruto-kun, you may not have noticed it, but there's a barrier surrounding your home. It's there to keep unwanted guests from entering and stealing things such as clan secrets or personal heirlooms and the like. They were very smart not to trust even the people of their own village. You see, Danzo Shimura would love to get his hands on the inheritance left to you by your parents. He's a power-hungry fool that's as heartless as they come. Aside from him, there's my old teammates, the civilian council, and even some of the clan heads that would love to take what belongs to you as Minato and Kushina's only child. The three of us were only allowed inside because you invited us in. If anyone else were to try and force their way in without your invitation, they'd likely die. Your parents were quite serious about protecting you and your home."
Naruto nodded once in understanding. "Good to know. Nobody can hurt me here then. I can finally sleep peacefully at night, from the sound of it." he said before he began to have a look around his new home.
Once he was gone, Hiruzen looked seriously at Satsuki and Sakura. "You two will stay here with me. I don't want either of you getting any ideas about taking what doesn't belong to you. Yes, you could easily use the knowledge stored here to get stronger, and it would likely help you in your careers, but this is Naruto's home and everything here belongs to him. So let's take a seat and relax until he comes back."
Satsuki frowned and said, "You make it sound like I'd steal what belongs to him. There's clan secrets here, and as the last surviving member of the Uzumaki clan, I can respect that. Hell, I wouldn't want anybody trying to steal Uchiha clan secrets and belongings. I won't do that to Naruto."
Sakura looked down and said, "I think Hokage-sama meant that more for me than you, Satsuki. After all, I've been horrible to him."
Hiruzen shook his head and took a seat in a nearby chair. "I was referring to the both of you. In plenty of other stories, you, Satsuki, would have gladly jumped at the chance to steal clan secrets in your bid for power."
Satsuki and Sakura both blinked a couple of times before the pinkette spoke up somewhat nervously. "Um, Hokage-sama? You're breaking the fourth wall."
The Hokage simply shrugged and said, "The point stands though. Now sit down and wait with me." The girls didn't even question him as they took a seat together on a nearby couch.
After a while, Naruto entered the room again and looked at the three of them. "I half-expected you three to just go home. All right, so is there something we need to discuss?"
Hiruzen chuckled and said, "I simply wanted to ensure you got these." Producing a number of scrolls and a few letters, he placed them upon the table and said, "These two are the sealing scrolls you said you'd need. The rest of it is your inheritance. Browse their contents when you're ready. I'd personally recommend getting your things moved in here and getting some much-needed rest. You look like you could really use it."
Naruto nodded and said, "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea to me. I think I'll have some Shadow Clones go over everything while I get some sleep. Maybe. Too damn tired to really think on it too much right now."
Satsuki frowned and asked, "So do you want to put off meeting my mother until after our test tomorrow?"
The blonde nodded and said, "Yeah. Sorry Satsuki, but today's been exhausting and I can only handle so much of this crap at once. I really just need to get some sleep."
The Uchiha teenager nodded before she stood up and walked towards the front door. "That's fine. I'll talk to Mom about you and see what she says. And make sure to eat breakfast. I'm sure you know as well as I do that Karina-sensei is probably going to be late again. As shinobi, we always need to keep our strength up, and skipping breakfast is NEVER a good idea."
Naruto nodded and said, "I was thinking the same thing. Go on Satsuki. Go home and get some rest." Satsuki simply nodded in response before she left the house and the compound as a whole.
Once she was gone, Naruto watched as Hiruzen patted him on the shoulder before leaving, most likely to return to his office. Now alone with Sakura, Naruto looked calmly at her and waited by the door for her to leave. When she went to pass him, the blonde said, "Please eat breakfast, Sakura. Whatever this test is, we all need to be at our best tomorrow." Sakura simply nodded and smiled at him before leaving his home without a word.
Now that all of his guests were gone, Naruto walked over to the table and picked up one of the keys. Trying it out on the door, he nodded in satisfaction when it fit and did the trick. "All right, time to go get my stuff." he said to himself before stepping outside and locking the door.
Sadly, almost as soon as he stepped outside and sealed the gate again, he could feel all the angry stares being directed at him. Even worse was the sheer rage and harmful intent he could feel directed at him. Sighing heavily, he prayed silently to Kami that they would just leave him alone tonight. He was just way too tired and wasn't in the mood to deal with their shit tonight.
Quietly, he walked away from his new home and journeyed through the village on his way to his apartment in the Red Light District. Upon arriving, he scowled as he saw his apartment had been broken into. Stepping inside, he looked around to see graffiti sprayed all over his walls and furniture. The food and drink from his fridge had been taken and dumped all over the floor. His furniture and bed had been pretty much destroyed. However, he smiled when he realized his plants had somehow survived. On top of that, the assholes didn't get to his important belongings that were hidden away. So he got to work on sealing those precious items before he pocketed the scrolls and left the apartment again, not even bothering to try and close the front door.
On his way back to his new home and sanctuary within the village, he scowled when he was forced to turn and catch a rock that had been thrown at the back of his head. "Son-of-a-bitch. You assholes just couldn't leave me alone, could you?! I'm a shinobi of the village now. You can get in serious trouble for daring to attack me like this! Don't you assholes care?"
"Then it's a good thing we've got some shinobi of our own here with us." a man said as he stepped out into the light. "We're not about to let you defile the home of Fourth-sama and his wife! You've gone way too far this time Demon! It's time we put an end to you once and for all. We've been merciful so far, but not today!"
"Merciful?! Bullshit you fucking assholes! You're a bunch of monsters disguised as Humans! There's nothing good about any of you! If you ask me, you're just a bunch of maggots that should be glad that you even have someplace like this to live. I'm done taking your shit! From now on, I'm fighting back! So fuck all of you! If you really want to pick a goddamn fight with me, then I'll give it back a hundredfold!" Naruto exclaimed before he performed a hand seal and summoned forth a veritable army of clones. "Get these assholes so I can get the hell out of here!"
The clones cheered as one before they leapt into the fray. The normal civilians didn't stand a chance and, as promised, the clones took the lives of those foolish enough to stay and fight. The shinobi, however, were easily cutting down the clones, using their experience and superior abilities to destroy the clone army.
Once the clone army was defeated, there were six shinobi left, five male and one female, and there were seven civilians left standing, though a few of them were heavily wounded. "That fucking demon! So what if he's learned a new trick? Let's go kill the son-of-a-bitch!" the man from earlier shouted before they hurried off in pursuit of Naruto.
Sadly, Naruto didn't quite make it all the way to his new home. A few of the shinobi from earlier dropped down ahead of him and halted his progress. When he turned around, the blonde saw an even larger group than before closing in on his position. Snarling angrily, he looked at the two shinobi that were standing in his path and asked, "Why the hell are you even doing this?! What the hell did I ever do to any of you?!"
The kunoichi glared at him and said, "Just the fact that you exist is a crime Demon! You killed Fourth-sama and his wife! And now you think you can just move into their home?! We won't stand for it! And just now, you killed innocent civilians! If we don't kill you here, you can rest assured that you'll be punished for your crimes here today!"
"Innocent civilians?! Bullshit! You're all trying to fucking KILL me! I don't call that 'innocent'. Now get the fuck out of my way!" Naruto exclaimed as he went to form more Shadow Clones, only for a kunai to pierce through his hands, causing him to scream out in pain. "Goddammit! Just leave me alone! I'm not in the mood for this shit!"
"Neither are we!" a civilian shouted as he rushed up behind Naruto and slammed a nail board into the back of his head, burying a few of the nails deep into his cranium. "Just fucking die already!"
Tears trickling down his cheeks, the blonde fell to his knees and said, "Please just stop already. I never did anything to any of you. All I wanted was to move into my parents' home. I didn't ask for any of this…"
The villagers paused as what he just said registered in their brains. When it clicked, they began to laugh and/or snarl at him. "You really think Fourth-sama and his wife are your parents?! Ha! They would never have given birth to something like you, you abomination! Now DIE!" one of the shinobi exclaimed as he rushed forward with a kunai, preparing to jab it straight through his heart.
The man would have succeeded, but a cry of "Raikiri!" came from out of nowhere. Before anyone could blink, Karina appeared in the man's path with her hand piercing through the man's heart. In her hand was a blade of lightning that she had used to cut straight through his chest and out his back. Removing her hand, the female Jonin looked around at everyone and shouted, "What the hell is wrong with you people?! Why is it so hard for you to see the truth?! Naruto is the son of Fourth-sama and Kushina Uzumaki. You've been trying to kill the son of your hero this entire time! He and his wife would be ashamed of all of you! Besides, Naruto only fought back this time because you provoked him. You were trying to kill him. How dare you?!"
The shinobi of the mob quickly stopped, staring wide-eyed at one of their village's most famous kunoichi. The civilians though scoffed before a woman asked, "And just what the hell to you think you're doing? You're just one of the demon's whores! Well to Hell with you! You can just die right along with him!"
The lone kunoichi of the mob shook her head and asked, "Karina-san, you can't be serious? This…this thing CAN'T be the son of the Fourth! He's just a monster that needs to be exterminated! Why are you protecting him?"
The silver-haired kunoichi kneeled down beside Naruto and frowned as she saw the extent of his injuries. "Damn them. Are you going to be okay Naruto?"
The blonde simply looked into Karina's eyes at this point and let the tears flow down his cheeks. "I…I don't know. This really hurts. I just wanted to go home and sleep. I never wanted any of this."
Karina frowned sadly and wrapped her arms around him, giving him a warm, gentle hug. When she looked up and saw some of the civilians bearing down on them, she scowled and performed a quick Body Flicker Technique to take her and Naruto away from the mob. As soon as they escaped, the mob began their search again.
Looking at Naruto from their current hiding place, Karina looked at the weapons lodged in his body and said, "Naruto, I can't take these out just yet. We need to get you to the hospital. Can you hang on until then?"
Naruto frowned sadly and said, "I can, but I'm not sure if they'll treat me or not. They don't exactly follow the Hippocratic Oath when it comes to me. Some of the doctors there are nice and very helpful, but I don't know if they're working tonight."
"It's still worth a try. I'm going to send a Shadow Clone to get Hokage-sama so he can meet us there." Karina said before she stood up and prepared to move with Naruto again. Only before she could, the Hokage himself showed up and stared down at Naruto with a sad frown on his face.
"How dare they? Naruto-kun, I'm sorry this has happened to you. Just wait here with Karina for a little while longer. My Anbu are rounding up the mob as we speak. They'll be spending some quality time with Ibiki and Anko before I have them executed. I'm sorry I wasn't faster." Hiruzen said, sounding genuinely pissed off.
"I-It's fine, old man. I…I think I need a nap. I really don't feel so good." Naruto said as his eyes began to close.
Karina's eyes widened and she quickly shook him. "Don't go to sleep Naruto! You need to stay awake! I know how tired you are. I understand that. But you absolutely CANNOT go to sleep just yet."
Naruto chuckled softly and said, "E-Easier said than done. I'm just so…so tired. And I'm in pain. A lot of it. I just need some sleep."
As Naruto's eyes drifted closed, Karina began to shake. Looking up at the Hokage, she exclaimed, "We need to get him to the hospital NOW!"
Hiruzen frowned deeply and nodded his head. Without a word, he vanished with the two of them, making way hurriedly towards the hospital. Upon arrival, he lifted Naruto into his arms and hurried inside. "Naruto-kun needs help. Now!" Hiruzen exclaimed as he approached one of the nurses.
The nurse frowned when she looked at Naruto, but she didn't outright deny him treatment. Instead, she rushed off to get Naruto's usual doctor. A short time later, Naruto was inside of a room reserved specifically for him. The doctor, a kind man with grey hair and blue eyes, frowned as he examined Naruto from head to toe. "Well, the good news is that the injuries are limited to just these two weapons. He's fine otherwise. I need to remove the board first, but…"
"But what? Spit it out." Hiruzen demanded.
"Well, depending on how deep the nails penetrated, they could have punctured his brain or severed a few axons. Chances are that once I remove the nails, his brain will start to bleed and pressure will begin to build up in his skull. I'm going to need to perform surgery to safely remove the weapon from his head. As for the kunai…I can take that out right now and the Kyuubi should be able to heal those wounds to his hands." the doctor explained, a deep frown on his face.
Karina's eyes were wide and she felt tears trickling down her cheeks. "I should've been faster. I didn't expect something like this to happen to him. I'm so, so sorry Hokage-sama. I let you down."
"No Karina, you didn't let me down. The villagers did. The ones who hurt him did. Doctor, please get on with it." Hiruzen said. He looked eerily calm at the moment, but on the inside he was furious. He could barely think right now, he was so pissed off.
The doctor nodded and proceeded to slowly and carefully remove the kunai. Once it was out, he set it down on a table beside the bed. "I'll take him into surgery now, Hokage-sama. With any luck, he'll come out of this just fine. But…if things go bad, his career might very well be over before it's even begun. If only Tsunade-sama were here, this would be nice and simple. She'd ensure he survived this perfectly healthy. In fact…maybe it's time to recall her and get her to help with the surgery?"
Hiruzen frowned for a time before he nodded. "Indeed it is. Do what you can to ease his pain, doctor. I'm sending one of my summons to Tsunade and ordering her to return. I'm revoking her travel rights. I don't care how she feels about it, Naruto-kun is more important than her fucking decision to wallow in self-misery."
The doctor nodded and proceeded to use a medical ninjutsu to ease Naruto's pain and the slight swelling inside his head. He watched as Hiruzen left to go and summon Tsunade. I only hope that Tsunade gets here quickly. Poor Naruto. This couldn't have happened at a worse time.
Karina stared at Naruto horrified at what she had heard. If only I had been faster… she thought silently to herself as she sat down in a chair beside Naruto's bed. The more she looked at him, the worse she began to feel. And yet, at the same time, she felt that strange pull from him getting stronger. Whatever it was, it felt like she and Naruto were connected in some way. Putting that thought aside, she quietly said, "Please get better… I'm so sorry, Naruto. I should've been here for you from the start. You should never have had to go through any of this. From now on, I'll be here for you. I won't run away and I won't forsake you. You have my word." I just hope you'll be okay…
A/N - And that's the chapter! Not my best work, I'll admit. Still, I hope it was at least somewhat entertaining. *shrugs*
As you can see, a bunch of different things happened in this chapter. I honestly had no idea what I was doing for most of the chapter, sooo...it turned out like this! lol.
Anyways, I'm really out of it right now. I've been feeling like crap all week and it hasn't been fun. x.x Oh well.
Also, recently got into the new game Genshin Impact. Been having a lot of fun with it, and I'm eager to keep playing. It's been pretty fun so far. :D lol. Sooo, I think I'll take a little break now and play some more. We shall see.
As usual, I have no idea what I'll work on next. Sooo...look forward to whatever! XD Ciao.
