Fena: Pirate Princess
Treasured Memories: A New Goal
A/N: After seeing the last episode of the first season, I felt there needed to be a remedy to what happened in the end. This is my remedy.
He has been called many things over many lifetimes, past, present and future. A tormentor to some, a savior to others, a demon, an angel, a god, a friend, a warrior, a fiend, the bringer of redemption, the destroyer of sin, even a hypocrite by those that choose not to see another route that could be taken as opposed to ones that led down depressing fates. He was always known to those in the barest of senses to be a man that see the options that most others had the most difficulty considering. Even when faced with utmost pressure, he never wavered, being a believer of change, hope and mercy.
This was such a situation that required his attention, just needing to set a course for some very specific individuals that had gone through an intense trial by fire of sorts to locate a place that had been unknown to the many, reachable only by the few…and guided only by the one.
"Memories," he expressed as he rowed in his small boat towards an island. "What some don't consider to be a treasure, others consider to be the greatest of treasures there are in the world to find. To find such a treasure is to commit to a journey that is chosen."

Fena thought she heard a voice speaking to her from afar again, turning back to see if there was someone there…and seeing nobody. It had been some time since she and the others had been to that mysterious place called Eden, and she had lost her memories as a consequence in the aftermath. Despite the efforts of her friends, she had been unable to recall anything that had happened to her since she met them.
Find the new map…and your pursuit of recollection will lead you to what you have lost, another voice had spoken to her, this one different from the previous one, full of something different than what she suspected was with the other voice. Find the map.
It was another man's voice, but he had some sort of kindness to him. There was no malice, no drive to be cruel or greedy, not even seeking to exploit others for their own gain. It was almost…almost a helpful voice.
"Hmm? What's this?" She heard Yukimaru say as they and the others were walking down the market place, noticing a bottle on a table nearby.
"Fena, that bottle has your name on it," Makaba informed the amnesiac girl, picking the bottle up. "There's something in it."
"It looks like a rolled-up map," said Karin.
"But who would send you a map?" Kaede questioned, and then his brother took the bottle and smashed it onto the ground. "We could've just sliced the bottle in half, Enju."
Enju picked up the rolled-up parchment from the glass debris and unfurled it to reveal…a note.
"This is no map," he expressed, handing it to Karin.
"'To Fena,'" she read the parchment, "'to regain what you now lack, find the jade-encrusted map…that will lead to what you can have back. To find the map, you must head to the island that nobody else can go to…but have seen. A dream that seems to be protected by a nightmare. Have faith in those that have your back. B.C.'"
"Who's B.C.?" Makaba asked.
"We've never met anyone by that name or alias," Yukimaru stated, "but they seem to be aware of Fena's memory loss. An island that nobody else can go to, but have seen. A dream protected by a nightmare."
"An island that nobody else can go to…a dream and a nightmare… Goblin Island?" Fena suggested, based off something she was told by Yukimaru a while back.
"Goblin Island!" Yukimaru realized; it was an island that nobody could just go to and the foggy boundaries made it look like a nightmare on the outside, but a dream once you got there. "We gotta go back there!"

Leaving the sought-after item where it could be found, the mysterious man sighed as he sat against a tree and looked up at the sky. It would be a while before they returned to this island, but he wouldn't be there when they did. But he was hopeful that once they did return, they would be able to make it to their destination and regain what had been taken. And when they did reach their destination, he would be waiting for them…to congratulate them for their conviction and drive to help one of their own regain what had been taken from them.
Among the reasons some deemed him a hypocrite was his pursuit of keeping the past from being forgotten by the people that couldn't or shouldn't be made to let go of it, and that what was treasured in the past was what enabled those to move forward in the present towards the unwritten future. Everything that had been said and done throughout time, over and over again, by countless others that believed in them, future, fortune, fate, destiny, curse, causality, choice, no choice, alternatives, he was not bound by these as they were. He could choose to look the other way from what others had chosen if he didn't agree with the outcome, even if it did mean saving a future. Unless the future included people's free will and very right to want to recall things, it wasn't so much a future without those few moments and feelings that were most cherished by those made to let go of them. And so, here he was, willing to defy all, just to return what had been taken, regardless of the consequences he was partially immune to.
Even when she's not a princess, she's still a princess, he thought. She's just a different sort of princess. She's the Pirate Princess. See you as soon as you reach your destination…Fena Houtman, the Pirate Princess.
To be continued…
A/N: Here's the first chapter. I don't know how many chapters this will be, but I hope you enjoy this until I can get the next one written down. I had to spend almost an entire week watching after two people, and only one of them gave me grief with her stubborn behavior. I can get why there will always be those that, despite our restraint, will push us to our very limits, but I hope I don't ever have to watch people like that for almost a week. I do not want to spend my weekends off my usual routine, and I just learned to my great displeasure that the people behind Hot Pockets discontinued Lean Pockets, which is a letdown because I loved the pizza-flavored version on account of it being healthier!
