Candles lit up a small workshop where a middle-age man was hard at work. He had a dream as a young boy to be the greatest Wizard to ever walk the Earth. He would be the greatest Wizard of all time and bring his family eternal glory and he would be immortalised in the pages of history.
But, for that he needed a new wand. A better wand, a wand that must never lose in battle and would always win the duel for its master. When he told his ambitions to his family, they scoffed at him, told him it was impossible and to stop wasting his time
He would prove them wrong and he wasn't the only one in the family that shared his dream to create something so unique. His two brothers followed in his footsteps, one wanted a Stone that could reverse Death itself and the other well, he wanted to make a Cloak that would hide its user soul.
So the brothers set to work each at his own home in their own respectable workshops to create their prize possessions. They agreed to not meet each other until their creations were finished. That meeting happened two months ago and none of them were close to being don
"This has to work." The man muttered under his breath, as he carefully carved the runes into the bone part of his Wand. "Cheat only once."
He continued to work on his Wand, his hand occasionally bumping into the failed experimental wands that cluttered his workstation. He used all types of wood and magical creature parts to make his ideal wand
He was trying a combination of Elder wood and Thestral hair for his current wand and was beginning to see promising results. As he was putting his finishing touches on the Runes the wand glowed and hummed in power before returning to its previous state
Could it have worked? The man questioned himself. He put his hand over the Elder Wand as though to pick it up but he hesitated. It's possible it failed, again and if it did he couldn't face himself. Taking a deep breath he picked the wand up and felt an incredible source of power flow from the wand and up his arm
He waved it through the air and sparks of green and red trailed from the tip of the wand. Pointing the Elder Wand at the wall and fired a blasting curse at it. To his immediate joy the whole wall was destroyed and he could feel the power from the wand as he held it.
BANG! The door from behind him was flung open and two men came running in
"Antioch, it works, my Stone works." The newcomer exclaimed giddly
"Calm down before you wet yourself Cadmus." The second newcomer patronised
"Stuff it Ignotus." Cadmus scowled. "Besides, my Stone is better than some Cloak."
Ignotus smiled but said nothing. His older brother did not realise the full potential of his Invisibility Cloak yet. He couldn't wait to see his two brothers' faces when he told them of his exploits under the Cloak
"So, how goes the work?" Ignotus asked Antioch.
"I just finished, I thought we all agreed to not meet up til we were finished" Antioch replied, raising an eyebrow at his two youngest brothers
Cadmus rubbed the back of his head sheepishly "Yeah but, we were excited you see." as Ignotus nodded his head in a giddy manner
"Anyway, what's up with that?" Ignotus asked, pointing to the missing wall.
"Ever the observant one, Ignotus." Antioch said as he flicked his new wand towards the wall repairing it. "It was with this.
Antioch held the Elder Wand up dramatically in the air and gave it a little twitch. Antioch took pleasure in seeing his brothers awed faces at the sight of his Wand. After all, it was a fine work of craftsmanship if he said so himself
"Let's see what you've created then." Antioch leaned in interestedly
"I'll go first." Cadmus exclaimed, as he pulled out his creation and held it in the palm of his hand for Ignotus and Antioch to see
"I call it the Resurrection Stone." Cadmus proudly stated. "I'm going to have it fitted on a ring."
"I see you've put the Family Crest on it." Antioch observed as he leaned in for a closer look
"Does it work?" Ignotus asked, curiously.
"Of course, Who do you want to see?"
Ignotus and Antioch shared a look and simutansly said "Grandfather."
Cadmus rotated the Resurrection Stone over in his hand three times and a man appeared before. He appeared to be no more than 30 and had a medium build and he was good-looking.
"Wh-Whats happening?" The semi-translucent man asked, looking around wildly. He then focused on the three young men in front of him. "Boys, is that you?"
"I don't know what to say one moment I was on the other side of the river with your Grandmother now I'm here."
Cadmus winced. "I'm afraid that's my fault Grandfather."
"What'd you do this time?
"I made a Stone that could bring back the dead or at least their soul."
"You need to release me. It's against the laws of nature for me to be here."
Cadmus nodded sadly and let the Resurrection drop to the ground with a soft plunk.
"Alright, let's see this Cloak." Cadmus sai
Ignotus nodded and pulled out his Cloak and disappeared underneath it. "As long as I'm under this Cloak I'm completely hidden and it can't be summoned off of me.
Antioch scratched his chin thoughtfully that was useful until you crossed a ward line with that thing on. Unless Ignotus actually made the Cloak hid his soul then maybe it could get you across most wards
"Useful if you want to run from a fight." Antioch stated. "But with my wand that won't be a problem."
"So, are you going to give us a demonstration?" Cadmus asked impatiently.
Antioch smirked he was finally going to get the man who paid him a great insult once. And he was going to give his brothers a show.
"If you'll just follow me." Antioch stated,as he walked to the door.
Harry awoke to the first light of the morning Sun hitting his face. He sat up rubbing his eyes tiredly, he began having dreams like this since the end of his 3 year at Hogwarts. But what did they mean? Maybe they were dreams, but if that was the case then why was there an Invisibility Cloak that looked exactly like his own?
Getting out of bed Harry went to his wardrobe and pulled our clothes for the day and went to the kitchen to make him breakfast. He was so glad Sirius was free and he didn't have to worry about the Dursleys anymore. He was free, and he would make sure to not take it for granted.
Harry and Sirius were currently at the Tonks' household. The reason being was the only house Sirius owned was his mothers old Town House and Sirius clearly expressed to Harry that there ain't no way in hell he was stepping a foot back into that house.
So they would spend hours at a time together to look at houses. Not that Harry minded in any way as it gave him a chance to get to know Sirius better.
"What's all this then?" Andromeda Tonks asked, from behind Harry
"Breakfast." Harry shrugged.
"Right, well then I'll take over from you and you could go do some studying." Andromeda said as she shooed Harry out of the kitchen
It's been like that since day one he was here. He would get up to make breakfast every morning like he had at the Dursleys only to be shooed away by Mrs Tonks. They were trying to break him out of doing that but it wasn't easy. He'd been making The Dursleys breakfast since he was able to reach the stove. Something that didn't endear them to his Godfather.
Oh well, Harry sighed as he pulled his Potions grade 3 book to him. Snape had assigned them a difficult essay this summer and staring at it wouldn't get it done. As he was working Andromeda placed a plate full of sausages, egg, and bacon in front of him.
"Eat up Harry, Merlin knows you need it." Andromeda sighed looking at Harry's thin form.
"Thank you Mrs Tonks." Harry said with gratitude.
"No problem, now excuse me while I go wake the mangy mutt up."
As Harry was eating he heard a loud yelp from upstairs and smiled. No doubt Mrs Tonks had doused Sirius with water again. This was an everyday occurrence as she insisted that Sirius wasn't going to be lazing around but Harry knew she just enjoyed pranking Sirius every morning.
"Good morning Harry." Sirius greeted, as he walked into the kitchen.
"Mornin." Harry replied.
"We've got a busy day ahead of us Harry. We've still got to find a house and you've got to finish your 'High Society' training."
Harry groaned, as the sole heir to the Potter Lordship Harry was expected to act like a Pure-Blood and go to gallas and what not. Sirius might call it networking but Harry knew what it really was, tourture.
Sirius smiled sympathetically "Believe me Harry that's exactly how I felt growing up."
"Yes it was the same for me too, you know." Andromeda said as she stepped in the room. "Except I was taught how to be the perfect Pure-Blood wife
She made a face at the end of her sentence and shook her head."Then I met Ted and we ran away together and I haven't looked back since."
"You were my hero when I was younger, you know. I followed in your footsteps in my sixth year." Sirius stated.
"You ran away?" Harry questioned.
"I did."
"Where'd you go?."
"To your dad's place." Sirius said, with a fond smile." I was always welcomed at the Potter's house."
"Did the house survive the war?" Harry asked curiously."
Sirius scratched his head. "I assume so but it's under a Fidelius Charm and as I'm not the Secret Keeper I can't tell you where it is."
Harry nodded his head glumly. He was hoping to get to see the place where his dad grew up.
A large screech owl soared into the kitchen and dropped a letter in front of Harry before flying away again. Harry picked the letter up and saw it was from Gringotts. What could they be writing to him for? Harry though
"Who's that from Harry." Sirius asked, stuffing his mouth full of eggs in a dog like manner.
"Sirius, don't talk with your mouthful. And for Merlin's sake eat like a man." Andromeda reprimanded.
Sirius scowled at her but otherwise said nothing. "My apologies." He grounded out. "That letter is probably important, Harry, you better read it."
Harry opened the letter and began to read aloud.
Dear Mr Potter,
We require your present at Gringotts at your earliest convenience to discuss your betrothal and about your inaction pertaining to this.
Your account manager, Daggertooth
Harry looked up at Sirius feeling sick to his stomach. "I'm betrothed to someone?"
