*~* Yes people I have returned with more on this little story. Well I might as well hurry the hell up and finish it before I have people attacking me for not doing so. I'm really sorry for the long long delay. But with school and work and such a person has little time to type up a story and then post it up. But I'll try to have it done before the new year. At least I got this part done with...and soon it shall all be completely and the world will be mine for the taking...er...I mean...^_^; So READ. ENJOY. And Let me KNOW what YOU think. Thanks a bunch.

FLOWERS FROM THE HEART

Part Eight

By Maria

Duo sits and stares at the papers Heero had handed him on the flowers they were searching for. The first two shouldn't be all that hard to get, they were in Venice. According to the papers in a small shop, the shop always carried a variety of flowers and poppies and asters were always in stock because they were the most wanted in Venice. The third flower they were looking wasn't in a shop. Duo looked at Heero.

"Where is the third flower...the lilies...Heero?" Duo asks puzzled.

"I've looked but it seems a lot of people have been asking for these flowers, so shops are out of stock. In some countries of course they just don't carry them..."Heero grabs another piece of paper and hands it to Duo.

"Well what about the lilies?"

"Read the paper Duo..." Heero says crossing his arms.

Duo looks down at the paper and reads over the article Heero printed out.

Young Girl Grows Garden of Remembrance.

In a small town of Orchard Valley, Montana a young girl named, Emily Elm, has grown her own garden in honor of the death of those who died in the past battles for the colonies and for her father, Colonel Albert Elm. Emily is twelve years old and started the garden when battles against the Gundam Pilots became difficult for the soldiers. Her father at the time was stationed in a OZ base on Colony L0023, and would inform Emily on the numbers of soldiers that died during battles that day through out space and Earth. Colonel Elm died during while in battle against a Gundam Pilot in space two days before his daughters twelfth birthday.

Emily tells us that each rank of officers has their own color of flower, red for Generals, blue for privates and many more. She honors her father by growing beautiful white lilies in the center of the garden with a small fountain that holds his medals.

"I come and sit by the fountain every chance I get and talk to my father. I talk to him through the flowers..." Emily said while smiling sadly. "When he and my mother first met...he bought her lilies. And then when I was born...he brought her lilies and some for me..."

Emily believes says that she doesn't blame the Gundam pilots, but she doesn't like or trust them either. She does however hope the war will end with peace and the memory of those who have sacrificed their lives for this peace to be remembered always.

Duo shock his head. "That's really sad...are you trying to make me feel bad Heero! Man..."

"Weren't you paying attention...that girls garden has the flowers you and Trowa need to get. It's the only place I could find them. It seems to be out of season for the flowers..."

"Well then why bother a young girl with it? If it's out of season?? And this is an old article Heero...there isn't a chance it's still going on..."

"I believe it is...and if not the whole garden at least those lilies in memory of her father. I've looked into this girl, she grows those flowers year round. Seems she has a special storage for them to grow even if it were winter. I say you give it a try." Heero turns back to his computer.

"Heero...I don't think she's going to be too happy having to Gundam Pilots coming up to her and saying...oh I'm here because I wanted to ask you to give me some of your flowers...yes the lilies that are in memory of your father...the one I possibly killed when fighting." Duo throws up his hands. "Everyone knows we were Gundam Pilots after all Heero. I bet she has a wall full of our pictures and she throws darts at us..."

"Duo..." Heero turns to look at Duo and glares.

Duo sighs. "Alright...I'm just blabbering on...I'll go let Trowa know about this then." Duo walks out of the room. Heero turns to his computer again and notices Duo's bowl of cereal sitting next to the computer. He shrugs and stares eating the remaining cereal.

Trowa was sitting quietly by what use to be Quatre's garden. Gently he runs his fingers through the dirt. 'I've been blinded by the beauties of this world...well my eyes have only been half open...and then one eye remained open and it only took the time to stare at Quatre believing that nothing would interfer with us being together. I can see now I was a fool to believe all that mattered was that I held Quatre and not saw what really was what made him happy and what he truly wanted in life. Trust has to be rebuild between us...and I'll do whatever it cost to rebuild that trust...even if it takes the rest of my life to do it.' Trowa smiles.

Duo bounds over to Trowa. "Yo Tro...I've got the news!"

Trowa looks at Duo blankly. "Trowa...not Tro."

"Huh? Oh...yeah whatever Tro. Anyways...Heero found the flowers in Venice...but..."

"Great...why don't we go for them tonight and then we can start with the rest of the flowers and your plan to get Quatre out of the house."

"Hey...Hey hold up Trowa..." Duo waves his arms around. Trowa stares at him. "One of the flowers isn't there....and...uhh...well we have to go see a little girl about them." Duo hands Trowa the article Heero printed out and watched Trowa's face harden.

"This isn't going to work...the mission should just be called off. We can't go and bother a grieving girl..." Trowa turns away and stares up at the sky.

"Man Trowa...we can't give up. For one reason...Heero won't allow it. And really we should try...go find this girl and talk to her. Maybe just maybe she'll understand and will give us the flowers." Duo says placing a hand on Trowa's shoulder.

"I don't know Duo...seems unkind to do such a thing when we took something very important to her."

Duo nods quietly. "We all knew the risks of fighting...and so did all the soldiers we went up against. Some were decently loving fathers, sons, grandfathers, brothers...and hey a few mothers and sisters...but we all knew that we could die, be killed. We fought anyways...I don't say the way we fought was the wisest but we've learned and we're working on having peace."

Trowa turns to look at Duo. "You're right Duo...alright. I'll give it a try. But we're not going to bother the young girl."

Duo grins. "No sweat Tro! We're off then!"
