Timeline

2012, 11 years ago : 2341 ballistic and cruise missiles were launched towards all major cities in Japan. But through the power of the Shirokishi, the incident went without casualties. The debut of the Infinite Stratos caused an uproar in the United Nations as they drafted up the Alaska Treaty to evenly distribute the technology between nations, ban its use in military combat and have Japan create a global training facility.

2017, 6 years ago: Further research showed that only females were able to use the Infinite Stratos. This caused a huge shift in power dynamics between men and women. This year was the first Mondo Grosso tournament with the winner being Japan's Chifuyu Orimura.

2020, 3 years ago: During the second Mondo Grosso, Chifuyu Orimura made it to the finals. But due to unknown circumstances, she forfeited and the victory was given to the previous runner up, Alicia Jiosestaf of Italy.

September 2021, 19 months ago: During a field trip to an IS research facility, then 26 year old Doctor Elliot Q. Maxwell discovered the first male capable of piloting an IS unit in the American youth , Wyatt Joseph.

February 2022, 14 months ago: While trying to find his exam room, Chifuyu's younger brother Ichika,activated an IS unit and became the first publicly known male pilot.

April 2022, 1 year ago: The two males meet each other at the IS academy and become the closest of friends , throughout the years they face powerful rivals and deadly enemies while improving their abilities.

January 2023, 3 months ago: As Ichika was temporarily incapacitated, Wyatt discovered that three youths across the world could also pilot an IS unit. The three were Trent Gibson of Australia, Caleb Kirby of Kenya and Harrison Solo of Greece. The American convinced the three to join the academy for the following year.

April 2023 , Present day: The five teens gathered together in 's sub lab and we're given an opportunity of a lifetime from headmaster of the IS academy,Juuzou Kutsuwagi,. The boys were to form an all male covert IS group. From that day on , they became the Metal Icarus Brigade .

After their classes ended for the day and the two guys were getting changed for practice , Ichika said "It seems we'll be doing a lot more training this year, Luckily they decided to give us a half day."

Wyatt says "Yeah but they have prepared us for the fourth Mondo Grosso somehow."

Confused Ichika said "But the third isn't even until October. Why start advanced training now?"

Wyatt explained "It's because while people are excited for this year's tournament, it's more or less to decide who's the strongest of an older generation. But the fourth will not just include tons of talented cadets but it will include the first male pilots."

Ichika says "So it's basically like when you buy a video game when the same game is going to be released on a new console a couple weeks later."

With a smirk , Wyatt said "Exactly, now let's teach these rookies the basics."

About 10 minutes later Wyatt and Ichika were standing in front of the three freshmen by the edge of the launchpad outside of a maintenance area.

Ichika asked "So are you guys ready for your first flying lessons?"

Harrison replied "Probably if our training space was a lot more private."

They looked around to see at least half of the student body and counting were in the stadium's seats watching the guy's practice.

Wyatt sighed "Think of it like this, with an audience you'll have to do better. So first thing first, to deploy your unit all you have to do is imagine the unit forming around you."

Instantly Ichika and Wyatt's units formed around them but for the freshmen it didn't work.

Ichika says "For the first few times you might have to shout its name to work."

Wyatt says "True but how's about I show you how I learned to do it."

Immediately Wyatt shoved each of the boys of the platform as they stated to fall down.

Caleb shouts "Blaze Eagle" As a red light enveloped him. The unit resembles that of a red Rafale Revive formed around Caleb.

Trent smirks and says "Quake Lion." A light enveloped him as it's revealed the Australian teen was in a large light brown Golem like unit with solid brown and orange highlights.

The Greece teen screamed "Wave Shark" A navy blue unit that seemed to be a mix of Cold Blood and Uchigane Nishiki formed around him.

Once the trio safely landed on the ground, they saw their two mentors hovering towards them.

Harrison shouts "Where the hell did you learn that method Joseph!?"

Wyatt answers "Thats how the doc trained me how to control an IS. Plus you guys did pretty good with that landing."

Ichika says "Moving on, the key to flying is mostly imagination, so the best image is that off letting go of a balloon."

As the underclassmen started to slightly float above the stadium, Wyatt says "You're doing good, as for speed, think of it like a car. You have a gas pedal and a brake."

In that instant, the upperclassman took off as the freshmen attempted to catch up with them.

Time flew by as the five soared through the sky and clouds, Ichika said "You're doing pretty good for your first flight, now let's see how good your landing strategies are."

He and Wyatt descend to the ground and hit a perfect landing. But due to the lack of piloting experience , the freshmen tripped and crashed onto their faces.

Wyatt chuckles as he says "Honestly it's still better than how your landings were last year."

Ichika lightly jabbed his roommate in the arm and said "I was still learning, you had like 6 months worth of experience."

As the five deactivated their units , Wyatt says "Now that training's over , let's move onto the best part."

To the surprise of the freshmen, they found themselves relaxing in the school's men bath 30 minutes later.

In a relaxed tone Ichika says "Oh yeah, this is the best part of training."

Slightly embarrassed Harrison asked "Exactly how is bathing the best part of training?"

Wyatt answered "It's a way for us to unwind and relax. Once you hit the water, all your worries melt away."

Confused Trent asked "Exactly what worries do you guys have? We're practically living the good life."

Wyatt smirks "Well Orimura has to deal with 8 girls who are madly in love with him."

Harrison says "Wait but isn't that what we're all dealing with."

Wyatt says "Kinda of but these eight girls are the strongest in the school and each have a personal unit. Wait actually it's nine since Ran attends the school now."

Ichika says "Hey at least I don't have to deal with a girlfriend who's pissed at me for leaving."

Shocked Harrison shouts "Hold up, that thing about you having a girlfriend is true."

Wyatt says "Yeah, why would I even lie about that. Also Kaitlynn isn't mad at me, she said everything is fine."

Ichika says "She and the rest shot me with BB bullets, I don't think that's fine."

Wyatt states "And tell me Mr. Wiped his own memory, how's you're experience with women?"

Ichika stood silent as Wyatt smirks "That's what I thought."

As the five got out of the bath and into the changing rooms,they attempted to get change but for some reason with their clothes were color coded bandanas matching each boy's unit.

Trent says "Does this always happen when you take a bath?"

While Wyatt tied his green bandanna around his head , he says "No this is weird even for this school."

Before they could finish changing , from the loud speaker Tatenashi announced "Alright everyone it's 2:55 so only five minutes left until the first ever capture of the guy race."

The girl adds "All five male students each have a bandana on them, the goal of each girl will be to take them and hand it over to the student council office. If you succeed you get to room with that boy for the rest of the year."

As the boys were shocked at this announcement, Harrison asked "She can't be serious right?"

He looks to see Ichika frantically tying his white bandanna onto his head and says "Believe me she's not bluffing, this is serious."

While the other boys did the same as their upperclassman, Tatenashi announced "From 3 to 6 you can use any method to capture those bandannas except an IS unit."

Ichika sighed in relief and said "Honestly if we had to deal with the girls in their units , we would've been done for."

As the clock was ticking closer to 3 , Caleb says "Our best option would be to wait it out here."

Harrison says "We'll just be sitting ducks, I say we should go to Doctor Maxwell's cabin."

Wyatt says "Normally I would agree but there's no way we can go there without attracting a crowd. Plus if the base is revealed, we lose our secret hangout."

Trent asked "So if there's nowhere to hide, where do we go?"

Ichika stands up on one of the benches and says "We run like hell until the clock runs out."

As a smirk formed on Wyatt's face he said "Alright freshmen, time for you guys to learn another lesson. As men in the school we have to be tougher than the toughies, smarter than the smarties, and sharper than the sharpies to get by."

Once again from the loud speaker, Tatenashi said "Also for the person that gets Vice President's Ichika's white bandanna, their club's budget will double."

It was at that moment Ichika screamed "WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL!"

The very second the clock struck 3, the door burst opened as a stampede of girls rushed into the locker room.

By pure instinct, Wyatt and the three freshmen jumped onto one of the benches like Ichika did mere moments prior.

Trent says "Man these girls really don't waste time , it's not even a minute in yet and we've already been made."

As Wyatt managed to leap onto the top of the lockers and help Caleb up he said "I know when given the right motivation, they're relentless."

While the others were climbing to higher ground, Harrison was attempting to kick off a girl that latched onto his leg.

Once he managed to get himself free, Harrison says "Don't forget clingy, this is Beatlemania level of fan girl behavior."

Out of breath , Caleb says "I doubt we can just stay up here for the next three hours."

To the other four surprises, Wyatt leaped off the top of the locker and out into the hallway.

Dumbfounded Harrison asked "We're seriously not going to do something as idiotic as that right."

Before he knew it , the other three guys launched themselves out of the room as the Greek teen reluctantly followed.

Right as Harrison made it out , Wyatt shuts and locks the door to ensure their safety.

Harrison says "I stand corrected, that plan actually worked."

Wyatt says "You can worship me later, we gotta keep on the move. That was only the first wave and none of the star performances have entered the stage."

As the five started to walk around the campus, Ichika says "Our rooms will definitely be under heavy surveillance and the student council office is the last place we should be near."

Right as the group were about to turn the corner, Wyatt pushed the group back as they heard several whooshing noises and saw several arrows hit the wall.

As they ran towards the girls as they were reloading, Wyatt says "it seems a group of Angry Archers Assembled."

Trent says "With the bounty literally on Ichika's head, it's going to be tough to stay hidden."

Once again the girls fired as the boys ducked from the second wave of arrows. When it was clear , the guys pushed their way through and managed to make it out of the hallway.

Caleb says "Well that was pretty tough, how much more time till 6."

With a tear in his eye, Wyatt says "It's only 5 minutes, so don't expect a half time break anytime soon."

Ichika sighed and said "That sucks but we just got to keep on moving."

As the boys finally made it out of the building, Trent says "It seems things cleared up, guess you were wrong about that only being the beginning."

From behind the guys , they heard a familiar voice say "It seems you guys are having a blast."

The guys jumped in shock until Ichika saw that the person was none other than his twin sister , Madoka.

Ichika says "Madoka what are you doing here?"

Wyatt says "I called in some reinforcements and I've got a plan."

Ichika says "Hey man after that plan during the play for the school festival, I'll try it."

20 minutes passed as the five guys stood in the middle of the school's quad without their bandannas on their heads.

As the rest of the student body surrounded them , Houki said "Seems you guys decided to give up."

Rin added, "Yeah so Ichika ,hand over that bandanna and we'll let the rest of you guys go."

To the girl's surprise, Wyatt began to laugh, soon enough the other guys joined in the laughing fit.

Nervously Ran asked "Are these guys normally like this or is this something new?"

Cecilia says "Probably the boy lost it , after all he's cornered with no way to escape."

Wyatt immediately stopped his laughter and said "You're wrong about that redcoat, this isn't the laughter of a cornered prey. It's the laughter of a man who's achieved victory."

At that moment, the five boys immediately pulled a bandanna from their pocket and tied it to their heads. But to everyone's shock, all five bandannas were an identical white.

The five guys shout "Ninpo: Flight of the Five Swans." Using the immediate confusion to their advantage, the boys scattered into the crowd and went their separate ways.

Charlotte started to chuckle as she said "Man it's just like him to pull a stunt like this."

Laura smirks as she says "It doesn't matter because, I know which one of them has the real bandanna."

The rest of the girls surrounded Laura and asked which one had the bandanna.

Cecilia says "It's obvious Ichika still has the real one, the others are just a distraction."

Laura responds "It's actually the opposite, Wyatt definitely has the real one."

Rin says "Exactly what led you to that conclusion. Why would Wyatt point a target on his back?"

Laura says "Because he knows we would target Ichika without a second thought. Plus he wouldn't relay on the freshmen to win."

Houki says "Then whoever gets Wyatt ,gets to move in with Ichika. Let the best woman win."

As the girls started to target Wyatt, The American said "Run, run, as fast as you can ,You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man."

Laura tried to throw several knives to slow him down, but Wyatt managed to avoid each blade.

Before turning a hallway corner, Wyatt says "Gotta do better than that super soldier."

Once the girls made it to the other side of the corner, they saw it was a dead end and Wyatt vanished without a trace.

Rin noticed a vent was opened as she lunged into the air shaft. The other girls attempt to follow her until to Cecilia's and Houki's surprise, Wyatt fell from the ceiling.

Charlotte says "I see that the opened vent was just a misdirection."

While he was running away , Wyatt said "I'm not out of trick just yet."

The boy continued to escape and lure the girls away from the others until he found himself surrounded and out of tricks.

Cecilia says "Looks like you're trapped Joseph , so handover Ichika's bandanna."

Wyatt smirks as he says "You might have me surrounded but I lack any bandannas except these."

The American revealed a blue,red and yellow bandanna tied to his left ankle. He adds, "What made you think I had Ichika's bandanna?"

Shocked Laura said "But that's impossible, you would do anything to keep Ichika safe. So how come you don't have his bandanna."

Wyatt explains "That's exactly why I couldn't take it. But we know you would think I would take it , so I acted as a distraction to lead you off the trail of the others."

At that moment the girls decided to retreat and attempt to find Ichika or one of the other freshmen.

Wyatt shouts "You're definitely out of luck, there's barely 5 minutes left and I doubt even you girls could figure out who has which bandanna."

The American begins to walk away as to him, his victory was assured and he defeated Tatenashi at her own game.

Later that night as Wyatt and Ichika were relaxing in their room, The American teen says "Man I forgot how hectic things can get here."

Ichika laid on his bed and replied "I know, still it was a pretty big risk giving Caleb our headbands."

Wyatt smirks and says "True but he was definitely the best choice from out of our small band. Trent would gather too much attention and Harry doesn't care enough."

As the two began to stare at the ceiling, the two said in unison "Looks like these rookies might be tougher than we thought."

Meanwhile in an abandoned factory Autumn was meeting with a mysterious figure in a lab coat

Autumn spits on the ground and states "I'm tired of waiting, you told me once I got the kid , we could get my beloved Squall back."

The figure responds "I told you getting his blood will help. The tests are going smoothly and we should be ready to begin experiments soon."

Autumn says "It better be, we've been sitting on our asses for weeks now. We should attack those brats now."

Slightly annoyed, the figure says "And risk our operations, don't be silly. Those brats as you call them could take you down easily if you attacked Willy Nilly."

The terrorist pouts begins to walk off until the figure asked "So where are you going?"

Autumn responds "Isn't it obvious, I've gotta work off some stress."
