Disclaimer: I only own the voices in my head, some stupid key chains, and the ever-present dryer lint.

-Like a Cat-

You're like a cat.

You lie around, watching the clouds, taking in the sun. Stretching out and not giving a damn about anything else.

When Asuma-sensei goes to wake you from your slumber, you blink slowly. Groaning, you get to your feet as slowly as possible.

I can almost hear the irritated yowl you would emit if you were a feline. I can almost see the madly twitching tail that would be telling the world: "I'm mad; leave me alone."

I smile. You would kill me if you knew I was comparing you to your least favorite mammal of all time.

You shove your hands in your pockets and slouch away, the very epitome of lethargy.

What is it with you, cats, and laziness? It's like an analogy. It would probably go something like this: 'Cats are to laziness as Shikamaru is to cats and laziness.' Or something like that. You always said I sucked at analogies.

You abruptly seem to realize I'm not following you. "Stop daydreaming and get over here!" you growl, scowling like only you could.

I smile again. You know, Shika, you are a lot more feline-like than you would probably want to know or be.
