Star Wars AU: Revenge of the Sith
Sorry about the long absence from fanfiction! But I'm back and motivated to reboot my AU Star Wars Series! I shall be including contents from The Clone Wars Final Season, The Bad Batch, Rebels, Jedi Fallen Order and a bit of The Mandalorian! With these new canon materials, I'm going to change a bit of the original AU story of Revenge of the Sith with fresh materials! But first, this new adaptation will be multi chapter instead to flesh the plot out more and get you all ready for a new adventure!
Chapter One
(Pau City, Utapau)
Marshal Commander Cody of the 7th Sky Corps, who was also personally leading the 212th Attack Battalion, received an encrypted message from the Chancellor on his hologram device, ordering him to execute Order 66. However, unknown to Darth Sidious, the order was discovered by Commander Neyo of the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps at the beginning of the Clone Wars. Having found out about the inhibitor chip, Neyo had the Kaminoans secretly remove them, thereby rendering the clones affected free of brainwash. However, only a few parts of the Grand Army of the Republic were chip free. Namely the 501st Legion, the 7th Sky Corps, the 21st Nova Corps, the 41st Elite Corps, the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps, the 327th Star Corps and the 104th 'Wolfpack' Battalion. Further units have reported to have also removed their inhibitor chips.
The Chancellor thinks he could fool us. Heh...we had him fooled all along, thought Cody as he pocketed his Imagecaster.
Unknown to him, there was a lone clone trooper from the recently formed 481st Legion in the rocks, watching every single movement that Cody made. Having saw him disobey Order 66, he readied his 773 Firepuncher Rifle to take out the Marshal Commander.
Just as he was about to take the shot, two clones from the 212th, Waxer and Boil, snuck up on the sniper, with Boil hitting him with a stun bolt from his DC-15A carbine. The two of them then dragged the stunned clone to Cody.
Said clone saw the pair and wondered what was going on. Going up to the two of them, Cody asked: "Waxer, Boil, what the hell are you two doing?"
"Sir, me and Boil saw this guy about to take a potshot at you and we deduced that he was there to watch your movements and to take out both you and General Kenobi," answered Waxer.
Cody then realized that even if the clone commanders and their men disobeyed Order 66, the lone snipers from other legions that were formed recently would more than likely follow the order. "Contact the others and tell them to watch out for clones in black. We're gonna get our hands full soon," ordered Cody before contacting Obi-Wan. "General, we got a major problem. Order 66 is being carried out, but the entire 7th Sky Corps will stand by your side. We need to leave Utapau now in order to regroup with the rest of the GAR."
Obi-Wan heard the message and replied: "Alright, Cody. But you are going to have to explain to me what 'Order 66' is when we get aboard the Negotiator."
(Meanwhile, on Coruscant...)
Anakin Skywalker, now Darth Vader, walked towards the barracks that housed his loyal 501st Legion. However, the second he entered the building, Vader found himself surrounded by clones with their DC-15 rifles and DC-15A carbines aimed at him.
What the hell?! What's going on?! Do they know?! thought the newly-christened Sith Lord as he began to ask himself a million questions in his head until Commander Appo, who is standing in for Rex as he's with Ahsoka at Mandalore, walked in front of him with a DC-15A Carbine in his hands.
"General Anakin Skywalker, you're being relieved of duty and you are under arrest for treason against the Republic," stated Appo with a heavy heart while aiming his weapon at the man whom he and Rex had fought alongside with ever since the Battle of Arantara.
"What is the meaning of this, Appo?! Have all of you gone mad?!" shouted Vader as rage began to take over him.
"No, sir. We heard what had happened in the Chancellor's office, thanks to a little bug we quietly installed during the office's renovation. We're going rogue because it isn't right to murder those who have protected the Republic more than we have. Therefore, you're being relieved of duty. I'm sorry, sir," explained Appo as he signalled his men to confiscate the fallen Jedi's lightsaber and cuff him.
Two clones moved forward with one of them carrying Force Suppression cuffs and approached Vader cautiously.
"Surrender, General. We have you outnumbered," pleaded Appo for the last time, hoping that his former commanding officer would listen to reason without resisting arrest.
Suddenly Vader Force-pushed his former soldiers and ran out of the barracks. Appo and his men chased after him all the while, fired their blasters at him. As the Sith Lord ran outside, many more of the 501st came towards him in an effort to stop him, but they were either easily killed or wounded by Vader's lightsaber. He got on a nearby BARC Speeder and took off. Appo and the rest of his men continued to fire until Vader was well out of sight.
Having seen the Sith Lord escape, Appo ordered the men to pack everything up and head to their fleet to escape the city planet. As the men began packing up, Appo pulled out his communication device and contacted Commander Fox of the Coruscant Guard. "Fox, we failed to stop General Skywalker. I lost a few of my men, but he managed to escape."
(Meanwhile, at the Coruscant Guard's barracks at the same time...)
Fox, along with Thire, Stone, Jek, Rys and 500 other clone shock troopers and ARF troopers heard the report. "Alright, Appo. We're going to regroup with you and come along. My men have taken a few Padawans and Younglings, but we were unable to convince the rest of the Jedi to escape. See you soon, Fox out."
(Back with Appo)
Said clone bowed his head in sadness as he heard of the Jedi who have decided to stay behind to protect the Temple. ARC trooper Fives went up to Appo and reported: "The men are ready in the Venators and Acclamators and are awaiting for your orders, sir."
Appo took a moment to look at the Jedi Temple and saw smoke and flames rising from it. Heh...must've been the 481st Legion that have taken the job that we were supposed to do..if only we could have saved more brothers….
"Alright, Fives. Let's go," said Appo.
(Kaller, Outer Rim Territories)
"Execute Order 66."
Commander Grey looked at his device with shock on his face. His battalion was recently inhibitor chip free thanks to Neyo's information coming to him. He put his device away and ran up to his General, Depa Billaba.
"General, we need to get you out of here right now!" shouted Grey as he signalled his men to regroup to his position.
"Grey, what is the matter?" Asked Depa as she stepped towards him. As soon as she did, a blaster shot hit her in the heart and she collapsed, dead.
"GENERAL!" Shouted the clones of her second battalion. They rushed to her and formed a circle while trying to make out where the sniper fire came from.
"I want two of you boys to get the Commander out of here! It's not safe for him to remain here anymore and don't let him near the General!" Commanded Grey as he checked his General over.
Two clones rushed off and intercepted Caleb Dume. "Commander, we have orders to get you get out of here! It's not safe for you anymore!" Shouted one of the clones as they dragged him away.
"But Master…." Caleb shouted back.
Just as one of the clones was about to say something, another shot rang out and hit him in the back, killing him. The other clone searched the treeline and fired multiple shots in the hopes of giving Caleb cover. "Run, Sir! Now!"
Another shot rang out and hit him in the stomach. As he laid down wounded, Caleb tried to help him but the clone pushed him away, "Get…out of….here, Sir" He croaked out. Another shot then killed him as it connected to his helmet. Caleb started to run and ran into the Bad Batch, an elite unit comprised of genetically altered clones. Caleb contemplated on whether to ask them for help but he has seen enough sacrifice from the clones. So he ran into the forest, hoping somewhere would be safe and that his battalion would survive and find him soon.
(Tribunal, Venator Class Star Destroyer)
"Execute Order 66."
Newly promoted Commander Rex of the 501st and 322nd Legion held a stoic face and as the hologram of Darth Sidious faded away, Ahsoka came into the Command Room.
"Rex. It's Anakin. I feel like something terrible has happened." Said Ahsoka.
Rex turned around and said, "Ahsoka…you are not going to like what I have to say next but the entire Grand Army of the Republic has been ordered to hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights…"
Ahsoka was shocked but listened.
"Commander Neyo discovered an inhibitor chip designed to make the order absolute at the beginning of the Clone Wars. It's due to him the clones of this legion and that of the 501st are inhibitor chip free. We'll be diverting to Kalida Shoals Medical Center right now…..and what I have to tell you next is the most troubling of all news that I have received from Coruscant. It's from Appo….General Skywalker has turned traitor…" said Rex with a very heavy heart and crestfallen face.
Ahsoka stood there in shock. She collapsed on her knees and sobbed. The two clones standing guard outside the room, looked downwards as they heard the news. The entire 322nd Legion has heard of the news as the message was relayed by Rex. All of them shed tears of sadness and anger as they remember their beloved General.
All Rex could do was to put his hand on Ahsoka's back in an attempt to calm her down and comfort her. So did the two other clones as they took their helmets off and cried.
(Aldebo Brave, Venator Class Star Destroyer, Bracca)
Jedi Master and General of the 13th Battalion, Jaro Tapal recoiled from the shockwave of Jedis dying to sniper fire all around the galaxy. Just as he began to recover, his Clone Commander raised his blaster carbine at him but a stun bolt hit him before he could fire. A clone sergeant managed to stun his commander with his carbine and came up to his General. "Sir, there's a galaxy wide order to kill all Jedi on sight. Some of us managed to remove our inhibitor chips that would enforce the order but not all of the battalion has been chip free. We are now fighting against them. I suggest you and the Commander get out of here now! Get to the escape pods! We'll try and hold them off!"
"Understood, Sergeant and may the Force be with you. Padawan, come!" Tapal said to Cal as he took his padawan to a nearby vent to escape.
Moments later, Cal and Tapal had managed to reach the escape pods but as they did, the doors opened and several loyal clones fell back and sealed the doors.
"General, we tried but we were outnumbered. We have initiated our last resort, Broken Arrow." Said the sergeant as his squad of six readied themselves for the oncoming wave of brainwashed clones.
"I understand, Sergeant. You did well. We'll ready the escape pods and set off for Bracca. We should…" Replied Tapal but he was interrupted by the doors opening. He brandished his dual blade lightsaber and commanded, "Cal, the pod! Sergeant, open fire!"
The squad fired back, now shooting to kill in order to survive. They killed many of their former comrades but slowly, one by one, the brave loyal clones fell until it was only the Sergeant and Tapal left. Tapal was then hit multiple times with the Sergeant wounded in his leg. Cal then screamed and used the Force to slow down the clones and dragged Tapal into the escape pod with the Sergeant following suite. The pod shot off just as the destroyer self destructed.
"Cal..Cal…this war is not over, my Padawan…Sergeant, my final order is for you to look after Cal….protect him with your life…." Wheezed Tapal as he struggled to breathe.
"Yes….Sir….It will be done, Sir." Replied the Sergeant as he shed tears at his own failure to protect his General and save his fellow brothers.
"Hold the line. Wait for the Jedi Council's signal. Trust….in the Force" Tapal said as he breathed his last.
Cal hugged his master's lightsaber with the Sergeant putting his arm around him to comfort the young but scarred Padawan and swore to uphold his General's last order as they both descended to Bracca.
(Throughout the galaxy...)
Many Jedi were killed by sniper shots from clones of the 481st Legion, leaving their clone commanders and their units that were completely free of the inhibitor chip's influence to try and regroup with the rest of the GAR. However, the saved Jedi included Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka Tano, Aayla Secura, Plo Koon, Byph, Ganodi, Gungi, Katooni, Petro, Zatt, Caleb Dume, Cal Kestis and Grand Master Yoda.
(Kaliida Shoals Medical Center, Naboo System)
Many of the GAR's fleets of Venators and Acclamators regrouped at the Haven-Class Medical Station. Out of all the GAR, the 7th Sky Corps, the 104th 'Wolfpack' Battalion, the 327th Star Corps and the 501st Legion, along with Fox and his 504 fellow Coruscant Guard defectors as well as some clone commandos were those that had made their journey to the medical center. The 21st Nova Corps, the 41st Elite Corps, the 322nd Legion, Depa's second battalion and the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps, along with other inhibitor chip-free clones were still making their way to the medical center. All the clone commanders present met with the surviving Jedi, as well as Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan, and formed a meeting to decide the next course of action.
The clone commanders sat around a holotable with the Jedi (except for the Younglings) at opposite ends. Appo began the meeting by explaining what Order 66 was to those who hadn't heard of it, and it left the Jedi and Bail in shock that such an order was created.
Following Appo's example, other clone commanders gave their report on the situation while some were left without their Jedi counterpart, as they had been assassinated by clone snipers from the 502nd Legion.
After Fox finished his report, Obi-Wan asked: "How many other Jedi besides us have managed to survive?"
"Heard from no one, we have," answered Yoda.
"Have we had any contact from the Jedi Temple?" asked Aayla, looking at everyone present.
"None, but my boys did intercept a coded retreat message," responded Commander Neyo.
"It requests that all Jedi to return to the Temple. It says that the war is over," said Bail.
Obi-Wan was frightened with the news that the Jedi Temple was completely controlled by clone troopers by the sound of things. Aayla sensed the uneasiness in him and laid a hand on his right shoulder for comfort.
"Well, then we must go back. If there are any stragglers, they will fall into the trap and be killed," said Obi-Wan.
"I agree with General Kenobi," added Lieutenant Thire of the Coruscant Guard's Diplomatic Escort Group. "We must go back to Coruscant, Master Yoda. We need to change the Jedi beacon to warn any other surviving Jedi to stay away from Coruscant."
"Agree with the both of you, I do," said Yoda. "Thire, get Rys and Jek to come along. Useful, you three shall be."
"Yes, sir. I'll get them ready," replied Thire as he left the room to prepare for the mission.
The meeting was concluded, with many of the clone commanders agreeing to wait until further orders given by Yoda. Some of the clone commandos that were with them such as Delta Squad prepped their secret mission to Kamino and commed a group of Kaminoans who were ready to evacuate out of the planet with their hidden Venator in the ocean.
"Yeah, Cody?" asked Appo.
"You didn't tell them about Skywalker?" asked Cody, who was curious about the missing details. Many of the clone commanders were briefed upon by Appo before the initial meeting, and many of them were shocked as well as saddened to learn that the most-respected Jedi had become a Sith Lord.
"I do think General Kenobi need to learn the truth but Master Yoda confronted me about this already. I think he sensed my distress. He then ordered me not to reveal this to either of them," explained Appo with a sad face, knowing that Kenobi shared a strong sibling-like bond with Anakin throughout the entire war. "I just hope he made the right decision."
"So do I, brother. So do I," replied Cody.
Obi-Wan, Yoda, with Thire, Rys and Jek, headed back to Coruscant in Organa's CR70 Corvette, the Tantive III.
(Jedi Temple, Coruscant)
The Temple was still smoking from the attack by Darth Vader and the 481st Legion during Operation Knightfall, and now another fight was being fought on the sacred ground. Yoda and Obi-Wan along with Thire and his men, were currently engaged in combat with the remaining 481st clone troopers (who were easily recognizable by their distinctive black coloured Phase II Armour) outside the entrance to the Jedi Temple.
Yoda spun around while deflecting blaster fire as more and more clone troopers surrounded him. One trooper armed with a DC-15A carbine got close to Yoda before the Grand Master Force-pushed him back into two of his comrades while deflecting several blaster bolts back at several clones. He then charged into the remaining clones and quickly jumped and eliminated the waves of clones with ease.
Thire, meanwhile, was taking out any clones troopers carrying heavy weapons with his DC-15 blaster rifle. Rys, on the other hand, was using his RPS-6 rocket launcher while utilising his DC-15A carbine to kill any clones that were coming from the perimeter of the temple with Jek gunning down any clones that were coming out of the Temple with his Z-6 rotary blaster cannon.
Obi-Wan Force-pushed back some of the troopers before slashing a clone's chest, killing him instantly. He then killed another by stabbing him through the stomach.
Yoda landed on the ground after killing a clone where he then, killed his final trooper by deflecting a blaster bolt back.
"Hmmm," sighed Yoda as he deactivated his lightsaber before regrouping with the others.
When the five of them came inside, they were greeted with the sight of a huge massacre. Bodies of clone troopers belonging to the 481st Legion were all over the place, along with Jedi Masters, Knights, Temple Guards, Padawans and Younglings. Among the dead were Jocasta Nu, Cin Drallig, Serra Keto, Bene, Whie Malreaux and Tera Sinube.
"Not even the Younglings that were hiding survived," said Obi-Wan.
"Killed not by clones, this Padawan. By a lightsaber, he was," said Yoda in sadness.
Obi-Wan bent down to inspect the dead body of the Padawan that Yoda was talking about and saw a single hole through his chest. It was clear that this was a lightsaber scorch mark. Obi-Wan turned to Yoda and said, "...Who? Who could've done this?"
Thire and his men, however, knew that it was Skywalker who lead the attack on the Jedi Temple. As much as they really wanted to tell Obi-Wan the truth, they couldn't bring themselves to do it because of Grand Master Yoda's orders.
As Obi-Wan headed towards the Jedi Temple's central security station to alter the Jedi beacon's transmission, Yoda had Thire and Jek accompany him to the Holocron Vault in order to retrieve all of the holocrons (which contained all Jedi-related material and their history), while Rys planted hidden sensors to warn them of any approaching patrols.
Once finished, the four of them regrouped with Obi-Wan at the Temple's central security station, where the latter was currently in the beacon chamber and tinkering with the Jedi beacon's transmission.
A few minutes later, Obi-Wan was done. "I've altered the transmission into a holographic recording of myself to warn any other surviving Jedi to stay away from the Temple and Coruscant." Yoda nodded in approval and hobbled his way out of the chamber
The group started to walk towards the exit, but then Obi-Wan had other ideas. "Wait, Master Yoda, there's something I must know," he said. This got the attention of the others as Obi-Wan walked towards the security room's holotable and pressed a button to reveal holo-recordings that were taken by the security surveillance cameras throughout the Jedi Temple.
"If into the security recordings you go, only pain will you find," warned Yoda with a look of despair on his face.
"He's right, sir. You don't want to know," said Thire as he removed his helmet.
"I must know the truth, Master Yoda," replied Obi-Wan as he fast-forward the recordings to the night of the attack.
What he found stunned and horrified him to his very core. Anakin Skywalker was fighting Jedi Battlemaster Cin Drallig and his two Padawan Learners, Whie Malreaux and Bene, in lightsaber combat. The holographic image of Anakin saw him fatally slash Malreaux across the chest while choking Bene before snapping her neck. He then proceeded to fight Drallig in fierce combat. Yoda bowed his head in sadness, while Thire closed his eyes, unable to watch the massacre.
"It can't be...it can't be," said Obi-Wan, shaking his head in disbelief as he couldn't believe what he was seeing. He then fast-forwarded the recordings and the hologram revealed Anakin kneeling before a hooded figure. Obi-Wan watched as the hooded figure that was Palpatine, now Darth Sidious, congratulated his new apprentice. Unable to watch any further, Obi-Wan turned the recording off.
"Destroy the Sith, we must," said Yoda, with Aayla nodding her head in agreement.
Obi-Wan, unable to face his old apprentice, begged Yoda to allow him to confront the Emperor instead. But the Grand Master refused and said: "Twisted by the dark side of the Force, young Skywalker has become. The boy you personally trained, gone he is. Consumed by Darth Vader."
Obi-Wan sighed heavily and nodded. "I don't know where the Emperor has sent him. I don't know where to look."
"Use your feelings, Obi-Wan, and find him, you will," replied Yoda. " Visit the new Emperor, my task is. Thire, get more men, you should. An LAAT/i, needed it will be, should my mission fails."
"Yes, sir," replied Thire as he issued the orders to Rys and Jek.
"Command the 212th and the 501st, Obi-Wan. Useful, they are, in capturing Darth Vader. May the Force be with you," said Yoda.
"And may the Force be with all of you as well," replied Obi-Wan as he watched Yoda, Thire, Jek and Rys depart the Jedi Temple.
With that the first chapter is done! I hope the reboot has done service to you all! I've included new materials and the next chapter will feature something very different to my original story. I have also taken inspiration from KaijuHobbit22 who in turn has wonderfully adapted my work and made it his own. I was inspired to feature Aayla as she makes a wonderful addition to the GANR and her soldiers are one of the most loyal of the clone army. Furthermore, I'm using some of his words in this chapter. But the next chapter will be wholly original and will focus on the Bad Batch side of things for a change while at the same time, will cover the fated duel between Obi Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader. Also the Sergeant that helped Tapal and Cal is the trooper who high fived Cal in Jedi Fallen Order with the squad including the ones who interacted with him during the Order 66 chapter of the game.
