Hello everyone out there, I had promised to update the other story of mine sooner but it needs some reviews and is adding in a few twists of mine but while I was on to it, I got this idea in my head. This idea might make some of you sad but it will bring my favorite couple together. This fanfiction will starts when Geum Jan Di leaves the Yoons to protect them from Madam Kang's wrath and it goes on from there.
Sad News...
The former South Korean president dies on the operating table at Shinhwa Medical Center... He had a heart attack right before his surgery, according to the doctors, and it was too late for him.
Those were the headlines. Jan Di gasped, clutching the remote control tightly. She kept watching as she noticed her firefighter standing motionless in front of his grandfather's body, followed by Woo Bin and Yi Jeong shooing away the news reporters who were filming everything.
Something in her heart ached, and she knew Ji Hoo needed her right away. She was about to grab her bag and leave when the doorbell rang. Her brother dashed to the door, and there stood Secretary Park who was dressed in black. His eyes were red and it looked like he had been crying.
"My young master needs you," he stated and Jan Di wasted no time in rushing out the door and asking her brother to notify her parents that she had left.
When they got to Shinhwa hospital, she didn't wait for him to open the door for her, she rushed out of the car, leaving the door open. She pushed her way through the hospital doors to see the F3 and Ga Eul attempting to elicit a reaction from Ji Hoo.
She made her way to the morgue despite the security guards' attempts to stop her. She didn't know what to say; tears were already streaming down her cheeks, but she needed to be strong for the man who had always been there for her.
"Sunbae..." she murmured softly.
"Jan Di-ah?"
Ga Eul was the first to notice her, followed by the F3, but Ji Hoo remained motionless. Jun Pyo took large strides toward her, ready to embrace her maybe asking for comfort, but she pushed past him and went to her firefighter, who was standing at the door, peering through the stainless glass. She composed herself and wiped away the tears as the group watched to see if their friend moved in her presence.
Yoon Ji Hoo and the wonder girl of South Korea had a deep bond among the F4, despite the fact that they were not in a relationship.
Jan Di put a hand on his arm. And he reacted instantly. Ji Hoo slowly turned his body to face Jan Di, who was standing next to him with a sad expression
"How are you here?" he questioned her surprised. It was the first thing he said after learning about his grandfather's death. "You can't see me like this," he turned away, tears silently streaming down his cheeks.
"I heard the emergency bell," she told him. She put her hand against his cheek, forcing him to look at her. While he was crying, she began wiping away his tears with both of her hands. "I'm here now; you can let it all out and I won't hold it against you."
"Jan Di-ah," he sobbed. He caved, and she wrapped her arms around him while he held her tightly. "Have I truly become an orphan?" he questioned. "What exactly have I done to the heavens to deserve punishment?" He asked her again. "Will I continue to lose the people I care about in my life? Why is fate so cruel to me?" He sobbed even harder.
Despite her efforts to console him, he was far heavier than he appeared. She drew him away from her grasp and led him to the chair.
Jun Pyo and the rest of the group watched as Jan Di consoled their best friend, whom they had been trying to get to react all night. "It turns out that only she knows him better than the rest of us," Yi Jeong explained to the others.
"Besides, grandfather and Ji Hoo sunbae genuinely loved Jan Di, unlike others who made her suffer," Ga Eul noted. She avoided making eye contact with Jun Pyo, who was aware she was talking about him.
...
"Sunbae..." She said this after he was calm but silently sniffling. As they sat in the chairs, he lay on her chest. She had her arms securely wrapped around him, shielding him from harm. "I promise I'll always be there for you, and I'll never leave you alone again," she said.
Ji Hoo pulled out of her chest. He looked her in the eyes, seeking the truth. "OK, I trust you," he said, wiping her tears away. He leaned in and kissed her on the forehead several times.
"Let us make plans to give Haraboeji a peaceful rest," she suggested.
"All right, but can you come home with me?" he asked.
"It's also my home," she responded. She pushed herself to her feet. "Let's go?"
She extended both of her arms for him to take, and he did so with ease. "Let's go," he said and they walked over to the group.
"We're going home to rest and will return later," Jan Di told them. "Ga Eul, can you come with us?" she requested of her best friend.
Ga Eul knew her best friend so well that she kept her cool for Ji Hoo. Her best friend needed her to be strong and get through the pain she was going through. Grandfather had become a significant figure in the lives of both her and her best friend, as well as their boss at the porridge shop. She recalls her grandfather clutching Ji Hoo's arm and pleading with him to find Jan Di and marry her, how Grandfather had declared a few months ago that he had chosen Jan Di as the perfect girl for his grandson. How madam Kang was the cause of everything that had happened to their beloved grandfather.
'None of this would have happened if you hadn't come into my best friend's life and forced her to fall in love with you and then continue to hurt her.' Ga Eul considered this while clenching her jaw and staring at Jun Pyo. 'It's all your fault.'
"We'll handle the rest," Woo Bin said. He turned to face his best friend, who was clutching Jan Di's hand and refusing to let her go. "Ji Hoo, you're stronger than this," he said, lightly squeezing his shoulder.
"Jan Di—" Jun Pyo started to say something, but Yi Jeong cut him off when he saw the humble Ga Eul, who had previously walked out on him on the stairs before they got the news. She was staring at Jun Pyo with the intensity of a hungry wolf. "Don't..." he advised his best friend.
"What—," he exclaimed.
"Ji Hoo desperately needs her, and they need each other," Woo Bin said as the three walked out of the hospital.
Secretary Park assisted them by opening the door. Ji Hoo slid in first, followed by Jan Di, who didn't want to leave Ji Hoo alone, and Ga Eul.
Ga Eul didn't want to look, but Ji Hoo's drawing himself in Jan Di's chest while she stroked his hair revealed something to her. 'Ji Hoo sunbae and Jan Di-ah could be soulmates,' she tapped her chin, looking up.
…
After making sure Ji Hoo was sleeping, Ga Eul and Jan Di went to Haraboji's bedroom to get the clothes he would be buried in. "What should I do, Ga Eul?" Jan Di began to sob quietly, clutching their grandfather's hut. The hut he usually wore most of the time. "I don't know if Sunbae will be able to overcome this," she said.
"Jan Di-ah," her best friend said. "Ji Hoo sunbae has you and his friends," she said as she turned to face her. "He has you, the most important in his life"
"I doubt it" Jan Di replied thinking about Seo Hyun. "I wonder if Seo Hyun will ever come?"
Ga Eul looked at her best friend in bewilderment. She shook her head at the stupidity Jan Di could have if she wanted to be. "How could you not realize that-" her words died out when she heard his voice screaming
"Jan Di-ah," she tapped on her best friend harshly "Ji Hoo sunbae is awake and he seems to be looking for you desperately"
Jan Di-ah?...Haraboji? His voice rang through the house more loudly.
Jan Di cleaned her tears away and rushed to his bedroom. He was awake but in pool of tears. "Sunbae..." she dashed to his side while he got out of his bed and held her tightly.
"Where did you go?" he asked holding her more tightly.
"I'm sorry sunbae," she said patting him on the back. "I was looking for grandfather's clothes" she explained.
Ji Hoo pulled them out of her arms and led her back to his bed. "Can you lay with me?" he asked still in tears.
"OK," Jan Di nodded.
She then helped him take off his white shirt that was still wrapped around his body. "Let me see Ga Eul off and I return," she told him and walked out of his room.
…
After 10 minutes, Jan Di returned to see Ji Hoo wide awake looking at his grandfather's photo. "You know what Jan Di-ah," he said softly inviting her to sit next to him.
Embarrassment washed over her, and she thought she felt the temperature rise. But she wasn't about to turn down a simple request—he hadn't asked for anything else. After a brief moment of thought, she climbed in beside him, leaving a space between them for him to fall asleep. But that was not what he desired. Instead, he moved closer to her and wrapped his arm around her, drawing her closer to him. She was taken aback by his sudden movement, but she listened to what he had to say:
"I had a bad dream, Jan Di," he said quietly but clearly enough for her to hear. "And it really scared me." After a brief pause, she heard him exhale shakily as he turned his head to rest it against her side of hers. "I'm not going to let anything happen to you, Jan Di. I will protect you like how grandfather wanted me to protect you"
She remained silent after those few words. It was unexpected and unexpected, but she was wise enough to assume that his nightmare involved something happening to her, though she wasn't sure what. But she wasn't going to press her questions any further. Instead, she shifted so that she was on her side but still in his arm, while his hand gently rubbed her back. Her head rested against his shoulder, and she watched his chest rise and fall as he fell asleep in front of her.
With her close by, he seemed at ease. And she couldn't expect anything else from the man who deserved a good night's sleep. She soon followed in a light but comforting sleep, still in his arms, though both were content to be close to each other.
The next morning...
The burial took place near his parents' grave. Lotuses surrounded the tombs of all his family members. People from the government and everyone important came to mourn the death of South Korea's most beloved person.
Several people approached Ji Hoo, expressing their support and condolences. Su-Am Foundation personnel. At the art center, all of the foundation's shareholders expressed their condolences and offered their support as well.
His friends were also present to show their support, but he never took his hand off Jan Di's. He knew if he left it, he'd cry in front of everyone.
…
Jan Di and Ji Hoo stayed in their grandfather's room for a few days, keeping each other company. Sharing stories about him with one another. Jan Di always made sure to keep their grandfather's room clean, and Jan Di was about to graduate.
Ji Hoo and Jan Di were having dinner one evening. It was silent because when grandfather was around, they would joke and talk together, but this was different.
"Ji Hoo sunbae—" she started.
Ji Hoo interrupted her. "...I have something to say to you." He took her hand on the table in his and said, "I want to tell you something," looking into her eyes with determination.
"What is it, sunbae?" she asked, waiting for him to say something. Ji Hoo gently caressed her hands, causing her to tremble.
He got up from his seat and approached Jan Di, urging her to stand. She was shorter than him and looked at him with doe eyes and a puzzled expression on her face.
"Let's go," he said as he led her to his office and sat her in his chair.
It had to be now or never.
Yoon Ji Hoo had narrowed his options to these two. She didn't give him much of a choice, but there was nothing to hold back—or rather, no reason to. She was thinking about leaving—and knowing her well enough, Ji Hoo expected her to leave her friends, her dreams... him. It didn't matter whether she left him or not—even if she did—Ji Hoo wasn't going to let her throw away her future like that. He wasn't going to let her leave without a good reason. Yes, her school life was filled with bullies, and her home life—that no longer existed because her home had been completely destroyed and now, she was living with him. Her love life was also in shambles, and it was clear that she was still reeling from the breakup. This was understandable because Ji Hoo was in a similar state; he was frequently depressed. That's why he refused to let her go. She might still be able to live here. Yoon Ji Hoo possessed sufficient power to protect the woman he couldn't stop loving.
It was once again a case of now or never. And it was never going to be for a very, very long time. He removed the silver chain that held his mother's ring from around his neck and held it out to her.
She had no idea how significant this was to him, but she held it carefully in her hand, staring at it with interest.
"This was recently given to me by my grandfather. This was once my grandmother's, and then it became my mother's."
"Sunbae..." she said, raising her head and looking at him with wide eyes.
"I don't know when I started feeling this way, but I've come to realize that I can't live without you," he confessed, looking away from the impending rejection.
That was the first chapter...
I hope you liked it
Will Jan Di say Yes or No?
