A Dark Shadow
A dark shadow does spread
Throughout our beloved land,
And reaches to our beaches of sand;
A dark shadow that causes all free
To dread.
A dark shadow does reach
With terrible fingers long,
That will do much wrong;
A dark shadow that causes us
To breach.
A dark shadow does gain,
But for only a short time,
For tables can turn upon a dime.
A dark shadow that causes tears
To rain.
A dark shadow does not win the war,
For we will stay
In the last light of day,
To cast down a dark shadow
We abhor.
Then we will stand with par,
In our city of stone,
Never again alone,
To shout the name,
"King Elessar!"
A dark shadow does spread
Throughout our beloved land,
And reaches to our beaches of sand;
A dark shadow that causes all free
To dread.
A dark shadow does reach
With terrible fingers long,
That will do much wrong;
A dark shadow that causes us
To breach.
A dark shadow does gain,
But for only a short time,
For tables can turn upon a dime.
A dark shadow that causes tears
To rain.
A dark shadow does not win the war,
For we will stay
In the last light of day,
To cast down a dark shadow
We abhor.
Then we will stand with par,
In our city of stone,
Never again alone,
To shout the name,
"King Elessar!"
