"She's very high up in London society, you know and you would do very well to invite her to your soiree."
"But I don't want to, mother, I wish to invite gwyneth!"
"Ah yes, gwyneth. And where will she get you in life Laurence? Hmm? Nowhere! Rosalyn, on the other hand is considered a great beauty-"
"And probably a great airhead too!"
" I will ignore that little comment and proceed on. Her father is on good terms with the admiralty and I went to finishing school with her mother. If she is anything like her parents she will be a charming well mannered girl!"
"but I don't know her, mother!"
"and I didn't know your father when I married him!"
"So now you want me to marry her!"
"I just want you to meet her! Please, for me?"
"Fine, I'll meet her. But I promise you nothing."
