Summary: Joan contemplates the importance of certain names
Disclaimer: I don't own Joan of Arcadia or any of its characters, which is a shame….a damn shame.
"Jane"
Not exactly the most esteemed name, in fact I didn't even like it.
Every time Adam called me Jane it was cause enough for me to want to turn around and throttle him.
"Joan, not Jane! Just because they both have four letters and start with a J doesn't mean they're one in the same."
Duh.
Yo Jane.
For Jane.
Jane. Jane. Jane.
No. Joan, Joan, Joan. It's bad enough my parents saddled me with it to begin with, but at least people I know can remember it.
Or so I thought.
"Joan"
When I heard that come out of his mouth it was like a dagger to the heart.
I admit it, I liked Jane. So I said I hated it. Whatever. I am a teenager, indecision is my best quality.
It was something only he did, and it made me feel good, special even.
Whatever Joan.
Joan. Joan. Joan.
Since when did I hate my name?
Since it stopped being Jane.
