Chapter 5: Chocolate Land in Chaos
Peach and Daisy are still pouting in rage from their boyfriends' lack of attention. Mario and Luigi are following them in concern.
"Peachy-pie, what's wrong?!" said Mario.
"Come on, Daisy flower. You can't ignore us all the time," said Luigi.
"Did we do something wrong? If we did, we're sorry."
"Hmph!" Peach and Daisy respond.
"Peach! Daisy! You know how we get when you make us feel guilty. We're sorry, okay?" said Luigi.
"Hmph!"
"Uh oh, are the number 1 and 2 best couples having a spat?" Rosalina's voice is heard.
The group then realized they were at Star Road, and Rosalina was seen with Yvette and Bernadette.
"Rosalina, our princess pal. We are glad to see you," said Peach.
"Why are you here?" Daisy.
"Work for space debris worth studying for," said Rosalina.
"Can we be with you for a moment? Certain people are biting mine and Peach's mood out."
"Huh?" the Mario Brothers felt hurt by this.
"Okay. Princess's privacy is at stake," Rosalina said, taking Peach and Daisy.
Slump, the Mario Brothers drop to the ground to sit down.
"I don't get it, Mario. Did we do something that upset Peach and Daisy and ignore us?" said Luigi.
"I don't know. We've been focusing on our mission and worrying about Prika's safety," he responds.
"Uh, no. The worrying part was you."
"New dating, eh?" the Toadette Twins.
"Yes. We started dating a few months ago, but recently, our girlfriends have been acting up."
"You two are dating the Toad Twins. Can you tell what we're doing wrong?" Mario asks.
"Well, judging how they are acting and the pouting faces, it seems they are giving you the taste of your own medicine," Yvette said.
"Our own medicine," the Mario Brothers confused.
Then Bernadette said, "What my sister meant to say is, have you been paying attention to your Princesses?"
The Mario Brothers thought for a moment before they gasped in realization.
"Exactly," the Toadette Twins said.
Back with the tour bus, they are arriving at Chocolate Land. All of the children were astonished at the area.
"And here we are at Chocolate Land," Yoshi Sr. continued. "As you can see, everything is made of chocolate, even the ground. This region was one of the first places where the Culinary Magic affected Yoshi Island."
"So, every chocolate imaginable is made here?" Prika asks.
"Indeed, my dear. Even the rarest and best are grown here too. But we are almost arriving at Coco University, where you will encounter the students practicing their Culinary Magic."
"Food Magic, yeah!"
"Can they make Star Bits?" Baby Luma asks.
"Even food from other planets can be made here, too," said Yoshi.
"Yeah! Maybe I can practice helping my family supply Star Bits even more when I grow up."
"Oh, how sweet of you, BL," Prika commented.
After Baby Luma blushes, the tour bus is parked for everyone to walk out.
"Right this way, children. The training field is just up ahead," said Birdo.
They go to the field and witness a couple of students making food with culinary magic. Some are using the ground to grow them like crops. Some are using incantations and spells to make the food appear. And lastly, they put certain ingredients in pots and pans, so they'll snap their fingers to make their dishes appear.
The children were in awe while Yoshi said, "It may look easy, kiddos. But it takes years to master. I, a graduate, worked so hard that I made my restaurant. Culinary magic can be practiced in various ways, as you witnessed."
As he continued, the Fun Killers rolled their eyes and groaned.
"What's the point of this?" Stephine said.
"Yeah, we should be looking for some of those rare and fancy chocolates," said Bryan.
"I want to look for Amedei Porcelana, a dark chocolate made by the Amedei chocolatier of Tuscany, Italy," said Paula.
"They better have Le Chocolate Box," said Mark.
"Oh, Ferrero Rocher, too," said Cora.
But when they smell the air, Saul says, "Oh, I smell the fancy chocolates."
"It looks like they're over there," said Sally, following the smell with her friends.
When they got far away from their group and found them, Barney said, "Pierre Marcolini, Brussels. Yum!"
But as they eat, the familiar appears behind them as the beast licks his lips in hunger. They sit together with Peach, Daisy, and Rosalina at the ledge of Star Road.
"Our boyfriends are ignoring. And giving more attention to Prika and Pepperoni," said Peach.
"Can you blame them? Prika is their daughter and niece, and Pepperoni is their pet," said Rosalina.
"Yeah, we know. But it felt like they are getting more love from Mario and Luigi than we are," said Daisy.
Pepperoni and Cauliflower soon heard her words. They begin to feel concerned for Peach and Daisy as they sulk.
"And Peach and I don't blame Prika and Pepperoni taken them away from us," Daisy continued. "We blame ourselves for not being honest with Mario and Luigi."
Then Peach added, "And we been anxiously waiting for them to notice us. We are used to being paid attention to since we are princesses."
"We are so selfish," said Peach and Daisy.
But Pepperoni came over to put his paws on the princesses' laps with a sorrowful look.
"I think he heard the whole thing," said Rosalina.
"Oh, Pepperoni. We were just-," said Daisy.
But then he starts whining for forgiveness while Rosalina says, "I think he wants forgiveness on behalf of himself, Prika, and the Mario Brothers."
Once Peach and Daisy pet him, Mario and Luigi showed up with pink and orange flower bouquets. The brothers felt ashamed when Peach and Daisy looked them in the eyes.
"We want to apologize for how we didn't notice until this point and for not being fair," said Mario.
"We'll try and be better than before. Unless…you're still mad at us, we understand," said Luigi.
Peach and Daisy looked down at Pepperoni, who was begging for forgiveness. The princesses then hugged their respective boyfriends, which made them blush.
"It's hard to stay mad, you two," said Peach.
"Especially with cute faces of yours. Just like back in Nintendo High," said Daisy.
The Mario Brothers felt relieved that they hugged their girlfriends back.
"Aw!" said the Toadette Twins, finding it sweet.
"If this drama happens all the time, I won't date," said Rosalina.
But at WarioWare Inc, Waluigi is at the secretary's desk where Wario was about to walk. Waluigi then grips his heart and falls back from his chair.
"Waluigi! Are you okay?! Say something!" said Wario, running over there.
He slowly came back up, gripping his heart, and said, "I think….I lost my chance…for love…"
"Eh?"
Back with the field trip group at Chocolate Land on Yoshi Island, they are still watching the students of Coco University doing Culinary Magic.
"They can make Star Bits too. Magic is amazing," said Baby Luma.
"Hey, wait. Where's the Fun Killers?" Prika said while looking around.
"Who cares about them?" Tallulah said.
"No, seriously. Where did they go?"
When the Super Detective Siblings looked around, Garth said, "She's right. They are nowhere to be seen."
"I guess they want to ditch the tour to look for some fancy chocolate," said Kennedy.
"Honestly, they'll do anything to get out of field trips," said Brandon.
But after the screams of the Fun Killers were heard.
Yellow Toad said, "What was that?"
"Wait! We're missing eight children," said Blue Toad.
Then big footsteps were heard, and everyone gasped when the Yoob, from Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time in standard size.
Once roared, the children quickly hid behind the adults while Yoshi Sr. said, "It's Yoob. He must be the one responsible for the missing Yoshis."
"Yoshies were going missing because of that thing?!" Bruce shouted.
"It must've eaten the Fun Killers," said Lyla.
"Children, get back! Ready to fire, Birdo!" said Yoshi, pointing his rear to the Yoob.
"On it," said Birdo before firing endless eggs at Yoshi.
Yoob roared while the eggs were barely damaged. He sticks out his tongue to grab Prika.
After screaming, she yelled, slowly dragging away, "Help! It's got me!"
"Prika!" her friends shouted while grabbing her hands.
"Don't let go! Don't let go!"
"No!" the Toad Twins, Yoshi, and Birdo said when they noticed.
The four join Prika's friends to pull her off Yoob's tongue.
"If Prika gets swallowed, Mario and Luigi are going to kill us," Yoshi said.
"I'll help you, son," said Yoshi Sr, joining in the pulling.
Feeling like her grip is getting lost, Prika begins to cry. But somehow, her crying reached Mario and Luigi's ears. The Mario Brothers caught the sound of it and began to look around.
"Mario and Luigi, what is it?" Peach asks.
"Do you hear that?" Mario said.
"Hear what?" Daisy asks.
"It sounds like crying," Luigi said.
"Crying?! But no one around us is crying," said Yvette.
"How can that be possible to hear crying that's far away?" said Bernadette.
"From what I learn about strong relationships and bonds, one can detect the other far off in danger," said Rosalina.
"Prika?! She's in trouble! Let's-a-go!" Mario said, making everyone follows him.
Back with the tour, everyone is still trying to pull Prika off of Yoob's tongue while he tries to resist so he'll eat her.
She continued to cry and said, "PAPA! UNKEY!"
Soon, the Mario Brothers' group arrived and were shocked to see the commotion.
"What is that?!" the Toadette Twins said while hugging each other.
"It's a Yoob. The alien Shroob Version of a Yoshi. How did this monstrous carnivore end up on our planet?!" said Rosalina.
"Didn't Mario and Luigi fight this during their time travel adventure? It must be brought back to life thanks to fallen space debris," said Peach.
"Uh, Peach? Don't look now, but Mario and Luigi aren't looking so good," said Daisy in fear.
Mario's and Luigi's eyes turn into their signature colors while they are enraged at seeing Prika in danger. As they are surrounded by fire and lighting, Mario runs so fast that he can punch Yoob's stomach. This caused Yoob to set Prika free.
"Papa!" Prika continued. "You're here and- Papa?"
Mario constantly punched Yoob's stomach while shouting, "YOU MADE MY PRIKA CRY!"
"Wow, he made him mad," Baby Luma commented.
With one final punch, Yoob collided with a mountain that collapsed into rubble. The impacts made Yoob spit out the missing Yoshis and the Fun Killers. When he groans in pain, Luigi kicks him down so he can jump on his stomach.
"Ew, so gross," the Fun Killers commented.
"Now to kick you back where you came from!" said Luigi, lifting Yoob and tossing him into the air.
Mario then stands near his brother for their fists to be charged with fire and thunder. When Yoob returns, the Mario Brothers punch him in the gut. Their punch was so powerful that Yoob was launched into the sky and disappeared in a twinkle. At Shroob Planet, the Shroobs are overjoyed that their planet has somehow replenished itself after they left it long ago.
But the Shroob Princesses appeared and shouted, "SILENCE!"
"Shroobs. We may have our old home restored. There is still time to exact our revenge," said Elder Princess Shroob.
"Revenge on the planet of Princess Peach! We will make them suffer the consequences if they dare to attack us," said Younger Princess Shroob.
But when they heard a scream, everyone looked around until they saw Yoob come falling and land on top of the Shroob Princesses. They poke their heads from underneath Yoob.
"Yoob, our long lost pet. You've returned home," said Young Princess Shroob.
"Now, be a darling and get off us!" said Elder Princess Shroob.
