What would you do if you found yourself living a second life as the Twin of the main character of one of your favorite shows. For Yuma the answer was plan to stay out of the way and just let the original time line take it's course. Instead a hairbrained scheme of Genma's forced him into the spotlight and now his only real goal is to set it all right once again. (Pseudo Self insert)

2. AN Rewrite poll

Okay first quick apology for taking so long I'm sure you're wondering why chapter two never came. Well simply put after throwing out a dozen drafts I realized one problem with my set up. While I do have personality traits for Yuma that are different from Ranma, Akane remains the same person. As long as she's in the same position of forcibly engaged she's going to act the same, and as long as Akane acts the same there is only so different I can write things while trying to keep her in character. Effectively every version of events played out to similar to actually be interesting so I'm trying to reboot this idea. in doing so I have three alternate starting scenarios, note both of these still end up with Akane it's just the road to getting there is a little different.

As a sort of apology I'm letting the readers determine the reboot set up, the poll is up on my main page Where it will remain for about a week. I'll be working on a second Ranma fic during this time to hopefully give you something to read at least hoping I can have a postable chapter by the time I call off the poll. The last thing I'll post here will be the announcement of the release of the new story probably just going to be called Brushing Aside Fate. If you just want to unfav and unfollow I get it.

first option Yuma's presence causes the trio to show up without being transformed and he ends up engaged to Kasumi. Akane after a bit of waffling pulls an I want my beloved to be happy moment and schemes to "steal" the engagement so Kasumi can be freed up to get with Dr. Tofu. Yuma meanwhile is trying to pull some schemes of his own to set Ranma Akane back on its canon path. Dr. Tofu joining the romantic rival antics. Ranma not really caring much either way being too busy dealing with Kodachi, Ukyo, and Shampoo and mostly just tries to avoid adding yet another girl to the madness. Soun and Genma trying to help the Yuma Kasumi couple completely failing to register how helping Akane would get them what they want more easily, and Nabiki eggs every side on for the lulz.

Second option, Starts the same as above but Nabiki (the only sister who was actually into the idea of getting a fiance in the first Chapter/episode of canon) gets the deal. Yuma starts by trying to get the timeline back on track, Ranma dealing with the three non Tendo girls turning most of Yuma's plans back on him, Soun finding out about Nabiki's plan to sell the dojo and live a life of flagrant hedonism and trying his hair-brained schemes to get Yuma with either of his other daughters and Genma's around too (Like honestly, he doesn't even need a specific goal just being himself is enough to cause trouble).

Third and Final Possibility, The first chapter goes basically the same until the fiance choosing scene where Ranma gets engaged to Akane. A few chapters later (around chap 3-4) Ukyo and her dad show up expecting she'll marry Ranma only for Genma to pull a little exact words trickery and offer up his other son to keep his end of the bargain. Ukyo decidedly unhappy with this pulls her various schemes to get with Ranma while basically offering Yuma up as a bargaining chip to Akane. Not even a booby prize just something she hopes she can trade for what she actually wants. This is the only version where Shampoo chases Yuma instead of Ranma. Ukyo basically interferes with any attempt by any other girl to get her unwanted fiance, but constantly trying to trade him for the brother she wants. Yuma and Akane not having the rivalry born of Akane being forced to marry him against her will causes the two to bond.
