Chapter 6: Ghosts are coming!
(The Next Day…)
Date: Friday 31st May 2013
Time: 8:15am
In the School Parking Lot, Carrie and Miss Desjardin arrived at Ewen High School.
"Carrie, you understand, okay?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern.
"Yes, I can, Miss Desjardin." Carrie replied.
"Good." Miss Desjardin replied.
"Thank you." Carrie replied, as she walked.
"You're welcome." Miss Desjardin replied, as she walked to the Gym class.
Carrie in her casual shy tone, as she and shocked walked down the hall, to their lockers, only to find them vandalised with the words: "GHOSTS ARE COMING!" spray-painted in silver.
"What the- "The words: "Ghosts are coming!" Ghosts?" Carrie asked in concern.
"The ghosts?" The student boy asked in concern.
Carrie turned to them.
"I don't get it." The student boy 2 replied.
"Ghosts are coming?" The student girl asked in concern.
Carrie turned to them.
"It can't be." The student girl 2 replied.
"What the hell?!" Chris called out to Carrie, causing everyone else to get mad out loud.
"The message "Ghosts are coming!" Ghosts." Tina replied.
"Chris say: "Carrie White Eat Shit!", fuck." Nicki replied.
"Yeah." Lizzy replied.
"Huh, I'm sorry." Carrie replied.
"You're sorry." Chris replied.
"Oh, yeah. You and your friends who make better stars in the reboot of: Everybody Hates Chris!" Carrie called back, causing some students to go 'Oooohhhh!' at an angry Chris and her friends.
"Say that again!" Chris growled sternly, as she stomped right up to Carrie, only for she to get in the way, trying to defend her.
"HEY! ENOUGH!" Sue is angry at Chris and her friends.
"Sue, look, Ghosts are coming!, we message Carrie White Eat Shit!. We got mad." Chris replied.
"Chris, that stops!" Sue replied.
"Stop! Stop talking to you, now, Sue!" Chris replied.
"Leave us alone Chris, Is it even worth fighting? All you'll do is get yourself and your friends in trouble as you always do." Carrie said, trying to defuse the situation.
"Zip it Freak, No one said you could open your gob!" Chris hushed Carrie, only for Carrie to pull her locker door off its lock and hinges, as she slammed it into Chris's face, causing everyone to gasp, as Chris fell to the floor, while leaving Chris's face print in Carrie's locker door.
As Tina, Nicki & Lizzy and some of the other Mortimer Snerds tended to Chris, Carrie quickly went off to the bathroom, as they had been excused from Gym Class by Miss Desjardin and Principal Morton due to the tampon incident with Chris yesterday…
"Wait a minute, Carrie, where are you going? Are you okay? Carrie." Sue replied.
"What happened? You okay?" Tommy asked in concern, as he was behind Sue.
"Uh, yeah, Tommy. It's Carrie, she got away. It's Chris and her friends. Chris got mad at Carrie. Chris said Zip it Freak, No one said you could open your gob! I stopped Chris and her friends from Carrie." Sue replied.
"Too bad." Tommy replied.
"I know." Sue replied.
"What's that?" Tommy asked in concern.
"Oh, I saw the hall, to their lockers, only to find them vandalised with the words: 'Ghosts Are Coming!.' The message." Sue replied, as she turned.
"Ghosts are coming. I don't get it." Tommy replied.
(Later in the Girls' bathroom…)
Carrie thought the door to the bathroom and she was breathing heavily to the mirror. Carrie was amazed and shocked, she'd never seen and ever react like that to any of the bullying from any of the Snerds before, but Carrie never seen or anyone she knew be able to rip a metal locker door open like that…
"Oh my god. I can't believe it. Ghost." Carrie replied.
Carrie's pointing touches the mirror to the wall.
"What the…" Carrie was shocked.
The ghosts were colored and they in the mirror were broken.
"Ghosts?" Carrie was shocked.
The ghosts growled in the mirror.
"Ahhh, oh my god! Ghosts!" Carrie screamed.
The ghosts were gone in the mirror. Carrie stopped screaming & breathing heavily. The student girl in the girls' bathroom.
"Hey." The student girl replied, as she walked & appeared behind Carrie.
"W-what?" Carrie asked in concern as she turned to the student girl.
"Are you okay?" The student girl asked in concern.
"Uh. I-I-I'm fine." Carrie replied.
"What happened?" The student girl asked in concern.
"Uh, it's nothing." Carrie replied.
"You are screaming?" The student girl asked in concern.
"Yeah. I'm okay." Carrie replied.
"Oh my god, the mirror was broken." The student girl replied, as she saw the mirror was broken.
"Yeah." Carrie replied, as she turned to her.
"You saw ghosts?" The student girl asked in concern.
"Yes." Carrie replied.
"You sure?" The student girl asked in concern.
"Yeah. I screamed at the ghosts." Carrie replied.
"Oh, too bad." The student girl replied.
"Yeah. Excuse me." Carrie replied, as she grabbed her schoolbag.
"Where are you going?" The student girl asked in concern.
"I don't know. It's okay. I'm fine." Carrie replied, as she walked out in the girls' bathroom.
"Yeah, too." The student girl replied.
Carrie entered the school stairs and paused.
"Ghost. That's it. I'm going to the Library." Carrie replied.
Carrie walked and quickly went off to the library.
(Later at the Football Field…)
Outside the school football field, Chris and all her Ultras friends stood outside waiting for gym class. Miss Desjardin blew her whistle drawing the girls' attention. The boys races off the field as the girls lined up. Miss Desjardin seemed pleasantly cheerful today.
"All right, stand up, line up please." Miss Desjardin ordered. "You have a big week coming up. A big month, actually. Probably the biggest month of your lives. Prom and then graduation. Are you excited?"
All the girls smiled and laughed in agreement, as Miss Desjardin smiled toward them.
"Probably all have your dresses, have your dates by now." Miss Desjardin replied.
Miss Desjardin walked over toward Chris till they were able to see each other eye to eye.
"What about you, Chris?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern. "Who's the lucky guy?"
"Billy Nolan." Chris responded. "You don't know him. He doesn't go to this school."
But all at once, Miss Desjardin's expression shifted from cheerful to accusatory in a matter of seconds.
"Are you gonna get him a boutonniere?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern. "Or are you just gonna pin a bloody tampon to his lapel?"
"I so don't need to hear this." Chris sighed with an eye roll.
Chris turned to walk away, clearly in no mood for a lecture. But she hadn't gone far when Miss Desjardin blocked her path.
"You're not going anywhere." Sue replied.
Miss Desjardin walked Chris back in loon, then walked toward Sue.
"What about you, Sue?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern. "Are you and Tommy busy campaigning to be prom king and queen? I would have voted for you... Not now."
Without waiting for Sue's response, the teacher backed away to address the entire line-up of girls. The fury was plain to see upon her eyes.
"You all did a shitty thing yesterday." Sue addressed them all. "A really shitty thing. And one you had the audacity to post a video. Somebody made a video of it?"
"This is bullshit." Chris yelled out.
"That's it." Miss Desjardin declared. "Thanks to Miss Hargensen, you can run suicides."
The groaned over the idea of doing suicide drills for a punishment. Basically, for those not familiar with the 'suicide drills': It began with a sprint from one cone to the next. Once there, the object was to kneel down and touch the cone. Then it was a matter of running back to the first, then running to the next farthest away till all the cones are touched. And as if that wasn't enough... they'd have to do the 'whole' obstacle course all over again!
"I'm not doing it." Chris replied.
"That's up to you." Miss Desjardin smirked. "That's up to all of you, but anyone who stops running is suspended. And if you're suspended, you don't go to prom."
The other girls faced each other in horror over what was just heard. Either they partake in the suicides, or they can refuse and miss their one chance to make high school memories 'forever'. And all because of 'one' prank. Miss Desjardin soon turned and looked straight into Sue's eyes.
"While you're running, I'd like you all to think long and hard... about what it would be like to be Carrie White. I saw the words: 'Ghosts are coming!'." Sue replied.
"Fuck." Chris replied.
"Are you sure?" Miss Desjardin asked in concern.
"Yeah." Sue replied, as she nodded yes.
