-Decision on the Tournament, Cassandra the Fighter.
The day of the tournament finally came as people lined up to get their tickets for seating, many people didn't want to miss out on the battles that would take place.
For Pierce, his family was wishing him luck in the tournament. Pierce was wearing a black shirt with blue pants "Try your best sweetheart, but not too much," his mother said as Pierce was a little unsure of himself, "is something wrong Pierce?"
"Yeah, it's just that... I'm not sure normal clothes really shout out, I'm a fighter to people." Pierce said, scratching the back of his head.
"Hmm, he does have a point, most people might just see him as a novice at most." Mike said, also scratching the back his head, showing where Pierce got it from.
Zoei smiled, "Thankfully, I thought of that," she said, pulling out a box from her purse. "Consider it an early birthday present," Pierce opened the box, finding a purple Gi with a red sash, a white collared neck, with white armbands and legwarmers.
"Wow, isn't this–?"
"Yep, it was my old Gi, I wore it around your age so it should fit you fine," Zoei said with a smile, "now go on, and show them what an Alba can really do." she said, punching Pierce's chest as he nodded.
"I won't disappoint." Pierce said, running inside.
Pierce got changed in the back as he came out wearing the Gi, every bit of it seemed to fit perfectly on him, all except the chest which was a little loose as pressed back on it. "I guess mom was kind of big when she was my age as well," Pierce said as he made his way with the other fighters to the preliminary room.
It was filled up with 8 separate box arenas as the referees pointed out that each of the 160 contestants will battle in them, 20 for each arena to decide who will be fighting in the main arena. After the speech, many of the fighters were getting ready, either stretching or punching the air, or some being stupid enough to flaunt off their muscles. But Pierce was looking around at them, seeing the different kinds of fighters around the world.
"Wow, it's amazing how many people are going to fight here," Pierce said to himself.
"Tch, it's nothing special," a girl said, right next to him. "The only thing these jarheads care about is the money and fame they get out of this. Many of them probably just think this tournament will be a breeze and all they have to do is pose all cool." The girl appeared with blonde hair in a short ponytail, brown eyes, wearing a white shirt, sweatpants, and a pair of open finger gloves.
"Well, I can't imagine all of them being that bad," Pierce said as the girl looked at him. "My dad told me about his days in the tournament, and he had to fight a lot of unexpected fighters he didn't take so seriously at first."
"Hmph, I guess you may have a point." She spoke.
"To be honest, I'm actually really excited, there's so many different styles of fighting here to learn from." Pierce said. "I'm interested to see what they're like in the ring." he said, punching his hand with a smirk. Though the girl stood there with a questionable expression to her face.
"Say, haven't I seen you somewhere before?" she asked.
"Uhm, no, I don't think so, perhaps we just ran into each other on a bus or something?" Pierce said.
"Hmm, maybe, you just got that face that says... something... Ugh, whatever, my name is Cassandra." she said with a smile.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Pierce," he said.
"Well, it's nice to meet you too, sorry for being a little grouchy, I'm just a little on edge." Cassandra said.
"Oh, is this your first tournament as well?" Pierce asked.
"Nah, third time running, I'm something of a fighting prodigy." Cassandra said, bragging. "But by the looks of you, you look like another person trying to impress."
"Well, I'm actually here to learn more about the different kinds of fighters out there, their styles, their techniques, everything. It's kind of like something my father said, no matter if they're dummies and blockheads, they can still give you a run for your money." Pierce said, this caused Cassandra to snicker a little before laughing out.
"Man Pierce, you're pretty funny... and a little weird," Cassandra said, trying to calm down her laughter.
"Well, I guess that's two great traits I got from my parents." Pierce said, rubbing the back of his head again.
"Tch, well, I hope to see you in the finals." Cassandra said, shaking his hand. They soon called her up as Cassandra ran off, waving at Pierce as she entered the small arena.
The preliminaries went fast with each battle going through with fighter after fighter falling or advancing in the preliminaries. In the end, the 8 contestants were chosen, and the tournament was just ready to begin, only leading to one question. Who out of the eight will make it to the finals?
This might seem short, but I'll try to make the chapters longer, just wait.
