Me: Hey all, it's been quite some time but I've returned to bring you another Support Conversation. This time we have Robin and Willow. Now before we jump into this particular convo I want to apologize for being gone so long, and tell you that such occurrences will likely continue in the near future. This is mostly because my computer has finally given up the ghost, and I don't have access to others on a daily basis. That said I will try to update my stories whenever I manage to access a computer. For now I hope that you can bear with me, and enjoy this new Support Conversation. Until next time then, bye!
C Rank Support: Robin and Willow
~After the Regna Ferox Tournament~
The party was slowly dying down; several of the Shepherds had already retired for the night. As a few more people trickled out of the hall, Robin decided it was time for him to leave as well. There was a low but pleasant buzz in his head, though he hadn't consumed much alcohol; information that Robin filed away for later. Just as he reached the door leading out of the hall his twin appeared at his side.
"Are you already tired Robin?" Willow asked even as a yawn escaped her.
"It's not so much that I'm tired, but we do have a long march back beginning tomorrow," Robin replied as a slightly amused look came to his face, "Besides you're one to talk; you just yawned while speaking to me."
The dark haired woman's face flushed with embarrassment, "That wasn't... I didn't mean t-" another yawn made it's presence known cutting off Willow's words.
"Well whether you meant to or not you could use some rest," the tactician slowly pushed the amusement from his voice, "After all you did just fight a battle not too long ago, and your opponent was quite skilled."
"I... guess I can concede that point to you," Willow said begrudgingly, "I was so nervous fighting my opponent."
"Yes, I can see how you would be," Robin said with a nod, "After all your opponent - Joshua, right?" the white haired man received a nod in response, "Well, Joshua was a tough foe from what I could see, but you also had to contend with the fact that Stahl and Vaike had both lost their own fights. Something that put us in a precarious position."
"Yeah," Willow let out a hum of agreement, "But you know he's one foe I wouldn't mind seeing again."
"Oh, and why's that?" Robin questioned his twin.
A yawn escaped the dark haired mage before she replied, "Well, for starters he's not a bad guy. He fought me fairly and with no tricks. He even apologized; he thought he might have subconsciously held back, or something," Willow paused for a moment before she spoke again, "But he did say something odd before our match."
Robin sent his sister an inquiring look, "And what was it that he said?"
"Something about a former occupation," the dark haired woman responded, "So, that would mean he wasn't always a mercenary, right?" the question earned her a nod from her brother, "What do you suppose he did before becoming a mercenary?"
A silence descended on the twins as Robin turned his thoughts inward. The man his twin had fought, Joshua, could have done nearly anything before becoming a mercenary. However, his skill with the blade likely meant that he'd dealt with them in the past. Not that it was all that unusual, but most mercenaries only got that good from years of practice - Joshua wasn't quite as old as most with that kind of skill.
"I couldn't say for sure," Robin finally spoke, "But it's clear that he knows how to handle a blade. So, it seems likely that whatever he did before becoming a mercenary is what gave him that skill."
"So, even you don't know," Willow let out a hum, "Well, it's a mystery that we can..." another yawn flew from her mouth, "can solve another time. For now I think I'll take your earlier advice and turn in for the night. See you in the morning, Robin."
"Good night Willow," the tactician said with a fond smile, "I'll see you in the morning - early, Chrom wants to deliver the good news to Emmeryn as soon as soon as possible."
Willow threw an irritated glare at her twin, "You know, just once I'd like to sleep in," Robin laughed in response before they parted ways for the night.
