Josi's Quarters aboard the Eloquent Destruction

Afternoon Time

The air in Josi's room was chilly, frigid even.

To some of his fellow warriors, the air conditioning setting he has set to would be uncomfortable for many, but he loved the cold air. He had retrieved his new gear, the glistening red plating of his new armor, the covenant, to Josi's knowledge, typically doesn't care about the customizing of armor so long as it's not anything too significant.

A star, a pink star was first etched into the back of the harness thanks to Periphery. He then painted the star with his thumb and some paint he stowed away in his quarters.

As Josi looked at the time he began to focus on his pride and joy while stationed on the Eloquent Destruction.

He turned to his desk, unlocked two sliding compartments, and opened the top compartment. He laid out a model of a CAS assault carrier and carefully placed it on the desk.

The desk itself was much larger than the model so there was no worry of it falling and breaking. It had a little plaque on the bottom of the stand that was engraved in gold, it was called The Shadow of Intent.

The Shadow of Intent is a CAS Assault Carrier that was built before his time, it had some experiences in combat in the past. But unfortunately, in recent times it has had no battles planned, not even planned patrol routes near Banished territory, as the current Ministry of Resolution saw it fit to incorporate it into the defense fleet of High Charity.

Model building is Josi's proudest thing to do if he wasn't busy, ever since he was accepted into the covenant military he would always be looking for his favorites in the shops in the Golden City and the Assembly Forges.

This Shadow of Intent Model he got was from a prize he won from a raffle, the ship came complete with a whole miniature figurine set of the crew and its military storage, from small grunts to phantoms, to even the scarab tanks.

He even has a Model of the Truth and Reconciliation in his apartment on High Charity.

He activated Periphery and commanded them to work on the model while he brought his attention to his new task as he brought up his datapad in view and peeked at the information provided by both the shipmaster and the prophet.

Secure vital information relating to the incident, then send it to Shipmaster and Prophet in person. Find out what happened during the raid, as the person in question may have been affiliated with the warlord in the past. The prophet may have been using funding from local tithes to further his agenda instead of handing those over to his superior, to find out what happened to them as well.

If the person in question becomes violent, the interrogator and his security team are to defend themselves at all times. While we would love to have the meek being alive, it would be foolish of us to be so careless, especially when something as dangerous as what happened. Our world around us is everchanging, even now, our holy union is facing an unknown development. please exercise extreme caution.

As the conflict between the banished is more than likely to continue, all information extracted from interrogations is now wholly confidential, and no one is allowed to talk about them outside of the room once the questioning is complete.

While the questions were pretty standard stuff from what Josi saw, two things stood out. 'He stole money huh, he didn't seem well off. The other was the last bit of information that was at the end of the screen.

As Information of any battle with the Banished is currently unknown, all members of this ship are to be prepared for immediate combat until the vessel has returned to covenant space. This is a direct command from the Ministry of Resolution. Do not be complacent just because the enemy is destroyed.

'That is rather odd, For such forward-thinking of the ministry. This whole event must've scared them enough to warrant such an order.'

Josi set the pad down on the edge of the table as he slouched in his chair, he looked at his model ship, the production was ongoing but he estimated that it will be completed by the end of this year as long as he used Periphery to get everything into place.

*KNOCK*KNOCK*

Josi turned to the door, got up from his chair, and opened it to reveal one N'tho Sraom, the elite looked much better after the visit with some of the medical personnel aboard the ship. "Ah, Major, may I come in." Josi beckoned him to come in, once N'tho was in his room he closed the room behind him. Josi turned away from the door "is there anything you need?" before he could say anymore, he turned to see the minor ogle his model.

"You never told us you had a hobby!" N'tho spoke with awe in his voice. "We just met not too long ago," Josi commented flatly, he then focused his attention on his model ship and then spoke, "so, what was it that you needed?"

"I'm here to inform you that me, Usze, and Rtas are all a part of the security team."

Josi looked back to N'tho and straightened his figure up. "Really? Is it just you, or are the others involved?"

"It's just me, sir," N'tho spoke up, some seconds passed before his superior spoke.

"I see." Josi got up from his desk and opened his closet, and brought out his old armor. "I've been thinking about it, why haven't you, or anyone of the survivors from the battle told anyone about what happened?" Josi was looking down on his old minor armor, the damage it sustained was minimal at best.

"You saved our lives, and besides, you said that this was something personal, right? What kind of warriors would we be if we blurted that out?" N'tho spoke with as much honesty as he could convey.

"... that doesn't answer my question, but if you say it like that..." Josi then turned to N'tho "the interrogation isn't for a while now, why don't we go find the others, and see if we can come up with some kind of plan for the worst."

"If that is what needs to be done…"

The two elites made their way to the Eloquent Destruction's training ground, not too many warriors were there, mostly due to how late it was. The time for the interrogation wasn't until midnight, it gave those who weren't busy with other orders time to relax, to control themselves. Josi and N'tho walked around a bit, discussing amongst themselves. "...In short, when we encounter an enemy that has something like what Vectus had, don't charge them. You'll risk the entire lance's safety." Josi went on at N'tho, who was less than pleased with this. "I understand, but it was Rtas's decision at first!" the minor lamented.

"Rtas did what he could with what little he had, but I'll admit that it was not a good plan of action," Josi said, sounding disappointed with Rtas. "Did you know that both Rtas and Usze graduated with top honors in their classes?" N'tho commented.

"They did?"

"Yes, Rtas was the top recruit commander in his class, his fellow recruits said he had a level head throughout the whole thing. while Usze was the best swordfighter in his regiment, it makes me feel small in comparison." N'tho said.

"Were you good at something? Since those two were impressive in their classes I imagine you were good at something yourself." Josi said while the two sat down on a bench, then the minor spoke up. "I always prided myself in my driving skills! Why I was the best Ghost and Banshee pilot in my class, I also earned a 'Best Gunner' award for shooting a target at 15 km away with a Wraith tank, without the assistance of targeting from a spotter or computer assistance no less!"

Josi's face went from neutral to amazement in just a few quick moments, "what about you Josi, what was the one thing you're good at?"

With this, The elite in question closed his eyes and laid his head back on the bench. "I think I'm pretty good on the range, but either than that I don't think I had gotten an award at all," Josi said with a soft chuckle. "But the reason why I haven't is that I've never felt the need to, I'm just trying to be humble as much as I can, it's been working out so far."

"Really?" N'tho sounded surprised by Josi's truthfulness. His superior opened his eyes and turned to him. "Of course!"

As the two continued, Rtas and Usze walked out to the benches with training equipment in hand "Oh there you are N'tho!" Usze said, "I was looking everywhere for you two, N'tho, did you tell Josi that we are going to be assigned in the same lance from now on?"

Josi's face remained neutral, but the tone in his voice conveyed his astonishment. "No, he didn't, he only told me that you two and him are a part of the security team."

The three looked at N'tho, waiting for his response. "...Oh," N'tho said with a low, shy voice.

"Well, I wouldn't worry about that now, considering we're all here." Rtas said as he turned to face Josi. "The Shipmaster has designated all of us to be in a personal Lance now, considering that we killed that monster. Josi, you'll be leading us now." Rtas spoke, his face betraying no emotion. "I'm your second in command while Usze and N'tho will be our third and fourth, I hope we get along…" Rtas said while setting his equipment down on the ground next to his feet.

"Don't worry, I'm sure we'll be just fine," Usze said optimistically, he brought up his training bag to his chest and began to rummage through it. "Since we're all here I figured we'd do something productive, let's have a sparring match."
