Ben screamed in fear as he held onto Darius's hand while the younger boy grunted as he tried his hardest to pull him back into the monorail car. But they could try as much as they wanted, gravity was the stronger force here, and bit by bit, Ben's hand slipped from Darius's grasp.

"No." Darius said quietly as Ben had just slipped from his grasp.

Ben could only look up at him in wide-eyed abject fear as he screamed his lungs out as he fell from the monorail. Luckily, or unluckily, the pteranodons still wanted Ben, so as he fell, they swept down after him. And just before could hit the ground, one of the pteranodons snatched him from the air and began to fly off with him. Ben, realizing he was not dead, began to groan and scream as he was carried away by the flying dinos.

Suddenly, the pteranodon that was carrying him stopped and tossed him into the air, and while Ben was helplessly suspended in the air, a second pteranodon came in and snatched him from the other one.

"Oh, no!" Ben yelled out as the previous pteranodon was now flying after him while trying to peck at him, but eventually it had managed to get one of Ben's feet into its mouth, so Ben did the only thing you could do… panic even harder as he started kicking the dinosaur in the face with his spare foot.

But from being pulled in two different directions by the pteranodons, they both lost their grip on the boy, and he started plummeting to the earth while screaming, and all went silent once he hit the ground with a hard thud.

* licking *

Ben groaned as he struggled to open his eyes but every time he did, he got a face full of dinosaur tongue. But eventually, he was able to gather the strength to roll over and push the dino away from him. And after a moment, Ben lifted himself off the ground and turned to look at the dinosaur, lo and behold, the dinosaur was none other than Bumpy.

"Oh!" Ben lets out in surprise before sitting up and grabbing the small ankylosaurus and hugging her. "Oh, Bumpy! Bumpy, Bumpy, Bumpy!" The ankylosaurus herself was having a great time as she nuzzled into her parent and let out whiles of excitement.

"Where's everybody else?" Ben asked openly as he looked around but saw no one. He dropped Bumpy from his lap as the fear began bubbling up inside him once more. "Bumpy, where's everybody else?" Ben asked in a quieter tone as he stared off into the jungle with wide eyes. But as he soon came to realize, it was just him and Bumpy in the middle of the jungle.

"Darius? Cass? Guys?" Regardless, Ben was still going to call out for his fellow campers. "Help! Anybody?" He shouted out. "Help!"

Suddenly a twig snapped and Ben let out a yelp before immediately going into the fetal position. Ben began to pant quickly, but immediately stopped once he heard rustling from another part of the jungle.

* screeching and chittering *

Ben slowly turned his head to the right and saw a Compy perched up on a log looking at him. And so, the teen began whimpering in fear.

* dinosaur screeching *

Ben let out a gasp as he turned to his left and saw more Compys come out of the jungle, and more, and more, possibly over 12 Compys had come out. All hissing and screeching at him as they formed a circle. Ben could only let out a shriek before whimpering and falling to the ground in the fetal position as he saw that he was surrounded.

* Bumpy roars *

But luckily, Ben had someone looking out for him. Because of that noise, the Compys stopped moving toward the fallen boy, and seeing her chance, Bumpy rushed forward and slammed her club-like tail into the bodies of the Compsognathus that threatened her helpless parent, knocking away groups of three at a time before standing in front of him and letting out another one of her roars, causing the Compys to all run away. And with that, the Compys weren't gonna be bothering them anytime soon.

Ben sat up once he heard all their footsteps get quieter and quieter until he couldn't hear them anymore. Bumpy trotted over to him and let out a small groan as she was still standing guard. Ben scooched over toward Bumpy before pulling her into his lap and resting his arms and head on her back like she was a table.

"Thank, Bumpy." The young teen quietly and thankfully let out as he rested on her.

"Okay, okay. This is gonna be okay. They'll come to save me right?" Ben asked as he looked down at Bumpy.

Bumpy's response was to look back at him and let out a small grunt.

"Right! They don't even know where I am. They must be waiting for me at the ferry." Ben said as Bumpy tried to walk off only to be pulled back into Ben's lap. "So, we just gotta get to the ferry." Ben said to her.

Bumpy once again let out a small groan.

"How do we get to the ferry?" Ben asked nobody in particular. "Oh, the map!" He said before standing up and reaching into his fanny-pack by reflex, only to remember he took it off, so he started patting all of his pockets hoping he'd find something. "Hmm. No pack. No map. No snacks. No hand sanitizer!" Ben started freaking out before grabbing his head and suddenly going into a seated fetal position, startling Bumpy.

"Okay. This is bad. This is worse than bad. This is…" Ben stopped as he heard a noise that was akin to something being sucked, and he looked down and saw a leech sucking on his leg.

And with that, Ben was out like a light.

* birds chirping *

It was a new day and the sun was shining brightly down onto the island. Though not everyone was enjoying having the sun shine into their eyes, Ben groaned as he held his hand out in front of his eyes to block out the light.

* Bumpy grunts *

That noise startled the easily frightened boy, causing him to abruptly sit up with a scream before realizing that the noise came from his… pet...child...thing that was merely digging around in bushes looking for food.

"Oh…" Ben let out a sigh of relief as he took a few deep breaths to calm himself down before pulling his knees to his chest in his usual fetal sitting position.

"There's no way the ferry's still waiting." Ben dishearteningly said to himself with a sigh. "They must have gotten off the island by now. Good for them." He told himself as he adorned a fake and strained smile before Bumpy rushed over to him and started to playfully nudge him with her head.

"They must think I'm dead. Gotta find a way to tell them I'm alive." Ben thought to himself before suddenly standing up with an almost excited smile on his face. "That's it! There's an emergency beacon on the island! And guess who knows where it is, Bumpy! That's right, me!" He said giddily as he thumbed toward himself. "I knew memorizing emergency manuals would pay off one day."

Bumpy merely honked in agreement as she looked up at him.

"Okay. First, let's figure out where we are." Ben said before walking over toward a massive tree. "Bet you can see the whole island from up there." He said as he looked toward the top of the giant piece of foliage and noticed it was definitely one of the bigger trees on the island.

"Okay. I'm gonna climb this tree." He told himself. "Bumpy, I'm gonna climb this tree." He told his companion who merely groaned in response.

Ben let out a sigh as he started to swing his arms side to side before leaning forward to stretch and leaning back, causing his back to audibly pop and crack. He bounced in place while shaking any leftover stiffness from his limbs. "Keep it loose." He spoke to himself before exhaling sharply. Ben reached forward…

"Ow! Ow, ow! Got a sliver. Sliver." ...and immediately retracted his hand not even a second after touching a vine. "Mm, never mind. Let's just go this way." He said to Bumpy as he began walking in a random direction.

And with that, Ben and Bumpy set out through the jungle in order to find themselves a way toward the Main Park. First, they headed northeast on the natural dirt path that they had found themselves on, eventually diverting into the jungle.

* distant roaring *

Ben let out a gasp at the obvious roar of a carnivore. But Bumpy merely squeaked and honked as she continued walking forward with Ben following after her. Eventually, they came to a large cluster of rocks with a lone tree sprouting between them, so both Ben and Bumpy climbed the rocks in hope of a better view of where they were at. After some trial and error (mostly on Ben's half), they made it to the top. But Ben almost immediately let out a small scream of horror as he saw the view. And it was nothing more than a large steep valley between them and the other side.

Ben whimpered as he stared down at the drop but called out to his companion who looked ready to traverse the cliffside. "Bumpy, no! Let's find another way." He told her, which in turn got a snort from her but in the end, they went back to where they started.

"Uh… this way." Ben said as he and Bumpy ran down the southeast trail, only to end up standing before a dark and foggy part of the jungle, where they could hear more dinosaurs roaring. But with Ben being Ben, they didn't go that way and went back to the intersection of paths.

Ben merely whimpered before pointing at the southwest path that he and Bumpy ran down. Eventually, the two stopped as they had come to a river as the waters were moving too quickly for them to cross, and once more did they hear dinosaurs roaring in the distance. Ben didn't say anything as he just turned around and ran back toward the intersecting path.

And without stopping, he and Bumpy ran up the northwest path that led into the jungle. Eventually, they left the original path and had begun walking through the foliage such as the giant pushes and leaves that were on the island.

"Oh… Bumpy, where-" Ben started but was cut off by slamming his head into a low-hanging branch. "Ow!" He whined out. "What am I doing? I'm lost, and tired, and talking to a dinosaur!" The teen rambled to himself before stopping as he noticed a significant lack of trees just up ahead, and with that, he ran forward and bust out of the treeline and into an open field with hills.

Ben let out a gasp at the sight as he took it all in. "A road! A road!" He cheered out. "All roads on the island lead to the Main Park. And Main Park means emergency beacon. Bumpy, all we gotta do is get down this hill!" Ben excitedly told his dino friend before he noticed her groan and take a few steps back.

* wind whistling *

He noticed a tree shaking due to the semi-strong winds and the only noise to be heard was the creaking of the wood and the howling of the wind.

"Bumpy, why is it so…" Ben started to whisper as he took a step back but his foot landed on something, causing it to make noise. And as the ever-curious but still scared teen that he is, Ben decided to pick it up, and immediately noticed that it was the jaw bone of a fairly large herbivore and with a gasp of fright he dropped it and began looking around. He began noticing more and more piles of bones gathered around in the rock formation that he stood in the center of.

Ben's breathing was already getting heavy due to his knowledge of what this could be, but his breathing effectively stopped once he turned around and noticed something approaching him. And that something was none other than the blackened and charred figure of a Carnotaurus, stomping its way forward before letting out its signature roar.

"Toro!" Ben whispered to himself in fear as he stood in place from the shock of seeing the carnivore.

But seeing his prey not move, Toro charged forward and was prepared to trample the teenager. But luckily, Bumpy tackled Ben to the ground, making him snap back to his senses as they both ran from the pursuing dinosaur. Toro attempted to take some bites out of Ben, but he dodged to the left or right of the bites just in time to avoid getting eaten. Toro let out a roar of frustration as it chased the duo through the jungle, occasionally letting out another call whenever the two went around a tree, causing it to lose distance, but once again, Toro managed to catch up and tried to take another bite out of Ben but once again miss, but since Ben wasn't paying attention to where he was going, both he and Bumpy fell down a large rock that almost acted like a cliff.

But with quick thinking, Ben grabbed Bumpy and dragged them both backward until hit back hit the rock. He covered both his and Bumpy's mouth so they wouldn't make any noise.

* thud *

* thud *

* thud *

And now Toro stood directly above them as it perched itself atop the rock to gain a vantage point to see where its prey may have gone. With a couple of sniffs to the air, while looking left to right, the carno couldn't find anything, so it let out a roar of frustration.

Ben whimpered as he covered his ears from the loud sound, but eventually, Toro stomped away, allowing the boy to uncover his ears. And now that they were no longer in immediate danger, Ben began to tear up before inevitably breaking down and began crying as he pulled Bumpy into his chest, with the small ankylosaur whining into his chest.

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

Ben paced around for a few minutes ever since he and Bumpy made it back to the intersecting dirt roads, but eventually, the teen sat down with his legs crossed and rested his head on his hand while trying to think of something. Bumpy on the other hand was merely rolling around in the dirt, letting out squeals on grunts of enjoyment before tiring herself out and falling asleep.

"We're gonna be here awhile." Ben said quietly to himself before getting up and walking into the nearby jungle.

The hours passed as Ben grunted and groaned while the clanking of sticks could be heard with the rustling of leaves, but eventually, the boy managed to do what he set out to.

"Well, Bumpy…" Ben said, startling the little dino awake. "...welcome to our new home." He gestured behind him to show a small lean-to made out of sticks, leaves, and vines, with a small bed made out of leaves as well. "I know it's not much, but…" Ben started but was cut off as he saw Bumpy immediately get up and rush into the lean-to and take the bed. "Hey! That's my bed!" Ben complained to the ankylosaur but all he got in response was for the little thing to wiggle in place.

Ben let out a sigh. "Okay. I guess you can have it for tonight." He said as he got into the lean-to and curled up against the fallen tree that the lean-to was built onto. He tried to push Bumpy over to give himself some more room, but Bumpy just moved even closer to the boy, causing him to let out another sigh.

The teen rested against the log and tried to fall asleep.

* distant roaring *

But that noise made him gasp, knowing that the dinosaur responsible for that noise was more than likely Toro, especially with how close he his.

"Oh…" He whined out in fear.

And throughout the night, the roaring continued. Effectively insuring that Ben never got any sleep.

* birds chirping *

It was a new day for the lone camper and his ankylosaurus companion. But as to be expected, the noises from last night kept Ben awake, so now he's merely sitting in his lean-to with an obviously exhausted expression, but finally, he was able to close his eyes and rest.

* screeches *

Or maybe not, as the boy let out a terrified shriek from the noise Bumpy had made. The small dino got up and stretched with a grunt before wandering over to lick at a bush.

"Uh…" Ben let out as he peeked outside and finally noticed it was a new day and he was quite hungry if the grumbling in his stomach was anything to go by.

So off he went as he chased after Bumpy through the jungle as she had caught the scent of something. Eventually, she stopped in front of some berry bushes and started to sniff them. Ben, on the other hand, reached out for the first ones he saw, those being a dark blue color.

Though he was hesitant, he still knew he had to eat. So he took a small bite out of the berry and almost immediately spit it out from how disgusting it was. But he turned to his right and saw Bumpy happily munching on one of the red berries from a different bush. So Ben figured, if Bumpy liked it, he would like it. So he picked one up from the ground and wiped it on his shirt before taking a small bite out of this one and found it to be way more edible than the last berry, so he popped the remaining bit into his mouth.

But then he saw Bumpy wandering off in a new direction, so Ben followed after her while taking a glance back at the berry bush.

Bumpy had brought them back to back to their small camp before sniffing the air and continuing forward.

"Wait! But we're right here… Okay." Ben said before just deciding to follow after the dino. Which led him down to a calmer river than the one they found the other day. With Bumpy jumping from the bank onto a rock in the middle to drink some water.

Ben stared at her for a few seconds before slowly making his way down to the river. "Yeah, I'm pretty thirsty too." He said to himself. And once he got to the river bank he looked at the water and then at his companion. "Are you sure this is safe to drink?" He asked but the ankylosaur just kept drinking. "Okay, I'm trusting you."

Ben put his hands in the water and scooped some into his palms before bringing it to his lips to drink. He let out a sigh of refreshment before hurriedly scooping up more water again and again until something caught his attention in the corner of his eye, causing him to let out a gasp.

It was a lone Parasaurolophus that was swimming further down the river, giving out a small grunt as it noticed Ben. And Ben being Ben, let out a shriek as he flailed backward but ended up thumping onto the ground and falling into the river. The Parasaur merely let out a small groan before hurriedly wading through the water to get away from Ben.

But now Ben was back at his small camp, walking in soaked socks and boots that squelched with every step. And just when he thought he'd get to have the bed, Bumpy rushed in and took it from him. Leaving Ben to lean against the log once more, with Bumpy giving him almost no space.

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

It was a new day once again for the stranded boy and his companion, who once again had suddenly woken him up with a screech that caused the tired boy to gasp in fear. But he knew that since the little ankylosaur is up, that means its time to trek across the jungle for food and water. So with a groan, he got up and followed after her.

Ben followed Bumpy to their usual berry bush and picked up a small handful to eat before having to follow after Bumpy as she started heading toward the river, and once they got there, the both of them got plenty of sips while Ben occasionally turned his head to the left to check if the parasaurolophus came, but it didn't. And now it was time for them to head back to their camp, as usual, Bumpy rushed ahead and took the bed, leaving Ben to once again lean up against the log.

Ben once again didn't get much sleep at all for the third night in a row.

And this happened again and again, day after day, night after night, for over a week maybe even two. Until finally, Ben had lost all patience and snapped.

Ben and Bumpy were on their walk home from the river as the teen dragged his exhausted body over to his lean-to, but as usual, his small dino companion wanted to hog it all to herself. She rushed over and stood on the pile of leaves before looking over at Ben.

And the boy could only stare at the ankylosaurus while silently and slowly shaking his head no.

Bumpy on the other hand, didn't really care as she made eye contact as she slowly lowered herself down onto the leaves before suddenly setting herself down with a thud.

Ben stared at her in disbelief, and at this point, he's had enough. "No!" He shouts getting her attention. "Bumpy!" He started to try to pull and push her out of the lean-to, but to no avail. "When did you get so heavy?" He asked as he would usually be able to move her about, but she seemed more like a stone at this point.

Bumpy didn't like Ben's attempts to make her move, so she stood up and sent the boy through the lean-to from the sudden force, causing him to gasp and grunt from the rough contact with the ground, but once he sat up, he saw that the lean-to was destroyed and Bumpy emerged from the fallen sticks and leaves.

Ben rushed toward the now ruined remains of his camp. "No, Bumpy! Bad girl!" He turned and yelled at the dino, whose only response was to let out a small whine as she tried to rub her head against his back.

"No!" Ben yelled as he turned around and pushed Bumpy's head off of him. "No! Go away. I'm mad at you!" He told her but all he got was a confused head tilt that caused him to get more upset. So with that, he merely stood up and just started incoherently screaming at the dinosaur, causing her to back up and whimper. But Ben kept it up until finally, Bumpy let out cries of fear before running off into the jungle. And once she was gone, Ben in his moment of frustration, merely turned to the sky and screamed his lungs out until he could no longer scream.

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

It had been roughly an hour after Ben's outburst and in that time, he managed to rebuild the lean-to but was now left sitting with his thoughts about what he had done. He sat down in the lean-to with his hands on his head before letting out a sigh.

"I'm sorry, Bumpy. Come back." Ben said apologetically as he turned to his left but didn't see Bumpy, so he proceeded to look all around camp but found no trace of the dinosaur. "Bumpy!" Ben called out as he stood up from the ground as he was now getting worried for the possibly lost and vulnerable young ankylosaurus.

But with no sign of a response, Ben did the only thing a dino parent could do… sprint into the jungle and start screaming out apologies on the off-chance that they'll hear it. And that's exactly what Ben did.

"Bumpy! Bumpy!" He yelled out frantically with desperation. "Where are you? Bumpy!" the teen started slowing down to a complete stop as he was out of breath and was beginning to tear up. "I didn't mean it! I didn't mean it! Bumpy, please!"

* rustling *

The noise caught Ben's attention as he looked toward a bush that was a few feet in front of him and saw a lone Compy rush out into the open before stopping in front of him, and letting out a screech. Ben let out a gasp of fear before rushing back toward his camp.

It's been about thirty minutes since Ben had returned to his camp, and he had found himself a branch that he could hopefully defend himself with against any more Compys should they try to attack him again. He unceremoniously drooped said stick once his stomach let out a loud grumbling noise.

"Oh…" Was all Ben groaned out as he knew he had to go eat again.

So off he went as he grabbed his stick like a baseball bat and held it out in front of him as he slowly walked toward his destination while frantically looking around for any danger, but he eventually found himself at the red berry bushes and proceeded to gorge himself on them until…

* screeches *

Another Compy showed up standing on a rock that was right in front of his berry bush, causing the easily frightened teen to let out a gasp of fear, not only because there was a Compy in front of him, but because there were two Compys in front of him.

So in typical Ben fashion, he grabbed his stick and hauled his ass out of there, with his next place to go being the river. And once he had gotten there, he slid down to the bank and set his stick to the side so he could reach into and palm some water, and after getting a decent scoop of water and drinking it, he let out a sigh.

* screeches *

That noise once again caused Ben to let out a fearful gasp as he looked forward and there standing on the rocks in the river, were five Compys, chittering and hopping side to side as they stared at the boy. Ben fumbled a bit but managed to grab his branch and hold it out in front of himself as he backed away from the dinosaurs before returning to camp.

The sun is now setting and Ben is laying down on his bed of leaves. He notices an indent under one of the leaves and sees one of Bumpy's little footprints in the soft ground. Ben sits up and looks down at the print sadly as he puts his own hand into the print, with them almost being the same size. Ben flops to the ground and begins to cry himself to sleep.

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

* wind whistling and thunder rumbling *

A bolt of lightning illuminated the sky as it was well into the night, and as Ben had slept a storm rolled in over the island. But with the blinding flashes from the lightning and the deafening booms from the thunder, Ben had woken up to something that he hadn't wanted to deal with at this particular time, and that would be none other than Compys.

He saw a few of them scuttling across the ground in the jungle, popping in and out of bushes. He then saw some more climbing on top of and around the lean-to, letting out shrieks and chirps to each other. Ben rushed out of his bed and scooted backward but noticed that there were more Compys outside that had begun to surround him, causing him the let out a fearful gasp as he backed up against the fallen log.

Once again, the scared teen was being approached by a dozen Compys, all screeching and growling as they stalked toward him as he was curled up in a seated fetal position as he covered his ears, and closed his eyes as he whimpered to himself.

The Compys got closer, and closer, and closer, until finally, Ben snapped once more and just let out another incoherently screaming at the much smaller dinosaurs before grabbing his branch and wildly began swinging it toward the Compys to ward them off, and it seemed to be working as with every second that he screamed and swung his branch, the Compys began to run away until they were all gone.

"Yeah. That's right!" Ben celebrated confidently as lightning and thunder danced in the sky. "You're scared of me now! Ben Fitzgerald Pincus!"

And he continued to celebrate and let out more screams as the weird hormonal teenager that he is.

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

* birds chirping *

It was the start of a new day and it's been weeks since the night of the storm. The sun was peaking over the mountains and shining its light over the island and the land was covered in a fresh layer of dew, and as the sun shone through the gaps in the trees, they illuminated a lone figure walking through the jungle.

The lone figure confidently strode down to the river before taking a single handful of water and drinking it before moving on to some red berry bushes and plucking some off before stuffing them in what appears to be a handmade fanny-pack. And once they were done with that, they climbed the tallest tree around in order to survey the land.

That person was none other than Ben Pinkus. And with his new-found confidence in himself, he began surviving a lot easier now that he's no longer afraid of most of the wildlife or most things in general now. He looked different too, not only did he radiate an air of confidence now, but he was also covered in mud. I'm guessing he tried to fashion it into war paint…?

But his blue button-down shirt was now ripped into two different pieces. One was made into a headband that was useful for keeping the sweat from falling down his face and keeping his hair out of his eyes. And then the rest of his shirt was turned into his makeshift fanny pack. His white tank top and his khaki shorts were now roughly the same color of brownish-gray thanks to all the dirt and grim that they'd accumulated. He even made a bracer out of wood and vines for his right forearm.

But with a deep breath and a sigh of release, Ben looked out into a certain part of the jungle from the top of the tree he was perched on. And he heard roaring, but not just any roaring, the roaring of a certain Carnotaurus. And with that, he decided to set his plan into motion. Ben made his way back to his camp to gather what he needed and what he needed, was a weapon.

The now island-molded teen had already been crafting a spear made of a solid stick, vines, and a rock that he had shaped and sharpened into a spearhead. But after a few more passes with a stone, Ben felt that it was sharp enough, now he just needed to test it, though he had a target in mind already. When he first started surviving on his own, he made sure to mark where certain things were on trees, and this particular tree was marked for the direction of Toro with a crude carving of said dino made into the bark.

Ben was maybe 15-20 feet away from the tree, but with a grunt, the teen prepped and threw the spear directly into the drawing of Toro.

"Time to get outta here." Ben spoke to himself as he prepared to face his greatest challenge yet… Toro. But if he managed to defeat him, he knew that he'd gain access to more of the island since Toro more or less acted as a gatekeeper for the side that Ben was currently trapped on.

But with that in mind, Ben knew he had no other option than to best the Carno in combat. So he grabbed his spear from the tree and began walking deeper into the jungle toward Toro's lair.

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

Ben stalked his way through the jungle with his spear at the ready, knowing that danger could be around the corner at any moment. But he had soon gotten to the treeline where the jungle meets open plains and hid between some of the low-hanging foliage to decrease his chances of being seen. And with a sigh, he looked forward and saw that Toro was merely 15-20 feet in front of him with its back turned to the jungle as the dino gazed over the plains for any potential prey, but once it saw none, it began walking away.

With a clinching of his teeth and the steeling of his nerves, Ben forced his way through the foliage in order to finally combat this beast. But he made a bit too much noise when moving through it as the rustling of leaves and the snapping of a branch caught Toro's attention, causing the charred Carno to turn around and see Ben staring at it with a ferocity that the Carno knew the boy didn't have before.

So Toro fully turned around to face its opponent and potential prey before letting out a roar, almost as if declaring battle upon the much smaller human.

But Ben wasn't going to back down now, so with some deep breaths, he let out a war cry of his own before readying his spear with a grunt for what was inevitably going to come.

Toro let out another roar of both acceptance and as the metaphorical signal that the fight shall commence, and with that, the Carnotaurus charged toward his would-be prey and tried to take a bite out of him. But Ben knew that he had to wait, so just before Toro could take a bite out of him, Ben dove between its legs before turning around and successfully managing to stab it in the underside of the tail.

Due to the charge and the pain that it suddenly experienced in its tail, Toro tumbled onto its side and took two palm trees with it to the ground. Ben knowing that he couldn't stay in one place, ran further into the plains. And with Toro not being one to give up on food so easily, it got right back up and let out a roar, before charging after the teen.

Toro had chased Ben maybe 75 feet into the plains before it caught up and tried to take another bite out of the boy, but once again, he managed to dodge it by diving to the side. But now it was merely a test to see who could get a hit in as the two circled each other, with Ben being on the defensive and with Toro being on the offensive. Both dodging bites and stabs while simultaneously trying to get their respective attack in to turn the fight in their favor.

But Ben had ended up tripping over himself in an attempt to create some space between himself and his opponent, causing him to drop his spear to the ground. Seeing this, Toro wasn't going to let up its assault and began trying to bite at the boy again and again, with the teen managing to scoot back away from its maw each time.

On the final bite, Ben rolled back and quite literally grabbed the bull by the horns as he jumped onto Toro's face and held onto his horns. But with the way that a Carnotauruses mouth is shaped, it couldn't take a bite out of the food that was quite literally dangling in front of its face. So the only thing that Toro could do was shake its head as hard as it could to get him off, eventually, it sent Ben flying off of its face but Ben landed directly next to his spear.

Once again, the Carno charged toward its would-be prey, but Ben grabbed his spear and took a hard swing upwards, managing to land a strike on the dinosaur and leaving a pretty big cut on the Carno's sensitive snout. Toro let out a small whimper of pain before letting out an enraged roar toward its opponent.

Ben had to take deep breaths to refill the air that was once in his lungs, but he too let out a war cry as he continued to challenge the Carnotaurus.

* dinosaur grunts and roars *

"Huh?" Ben asked himself in surprise as he saw a juvenile, if not fully grown Ankylosaurus charge out of the jungle and slam directly into Toro, sending the Carnotaurus tumbling away from the force it was hit by. The Ankylosaur let out a roar and turned toward the lone survivor.

Ben unceremoniously dropped his spear to the ground. "Bumpy? Is that you?" He asked in surprise and shock, but judging by the unique color pattern and the asymmetrical head bumps, it was definitely Bumpy.

Toro wasn't out of the fight just yet though, and with a grunt stood back up and was ready to challenge its new opponent that had interrupted its previous bout of combat.

Bumpy slammed her now massive clubbed tail into the ground twice, almost as if taunting the carnivore to come get some, and Toro tried to come get some. With a roar, the Carno charged forward and tried to take a quick bite at the neck of Bumpy, but she knew better than to sit still, so she simultaneously backed up and lowered herself to the ground to dodge the bite just before pushing herself up and forward as she delivered a devastating uppercut-like blow with her tail directly to Toro's bottom jaw.

Ben covered his face and let out a grunt of mock pain as even he felt that one connect. But saw that the Carnotaurus stumbled backward as it tried to shake the mind-numbing pain that it just felt from its head, but Bumpy wasn't going to let the carnivore get that far as she moved closer to make sure there wasn't too much distance between them.

The lone survivor stood next to his now much bigger Ankylosaurus partner before letting out his war cry as they both charged forward to end this battle. Ben took a few stabs and swings at Toro to grab its attention before Bumpy spun to build momentum and slammed her clubbed tail into its face again.

With Toro not being able to attack, and the two of them consistently pushing forward, Toro only had one option and that was to back up, and that's exactly what they wanted it to do, seeing as they were at the edge of a cliff in the plains. So with no other option, it kept backing up until it lost its footing and slipped clean off the cliff-side, and fell roughly 100 feet before slamming its back into the ground as first contact. Toro snarled and whimpered in pain as it rolled side to side in an attempt to get back up, but it couldn't and all fell silent from the beast.

Both Ben and Bumpy looked down at the scene before turning to each other.

"Oh, Bumpy!" Ben said happily as he hugged the face of his friend, and said friend merely let out a grunt as she casually and lovingly lifted Ben off his feet with her head and gave grunts of affection. "Oh! Oh, yeah!" Ben let out as he was glad that Bumpy was back with him.

And with that all said and done, Ben and Bumpy made their way down one of the many dirt paths that were on the island. But something caught Ben's attention, off in the distance he saw a giant pillar of white smoke, and he knew white smoke usually meant fire.

Bumpy groaned back at Ben as she found something on the ground. Ben came over and crouched to see what it could be, and it was a butter knife.

"It's not as dire as you think, babe." Ben heard a man quietly these words a bit deeper into the jungle, so he snuck a bit closer to hear them better.

"Really? 'Cause I think it's super dire, Mitch!" Ben saw a woman who spoke those words and finally had a name to put with the male.

"Hap! Just the man we wanted to see. Where are the kids?" Mitch said to the newly arrived man who was shouldering a rifle.

"Still in the bathroom yurt. The chatty Internet one is getting suspicious." Hap said to Mitch.

And at the wording of "chatty Internet one", Ben assumed he meant Brooklynn, which he figured that if one of them is on the island, then all of his fellow campers are still on the island.

"Hap, buddy, relax." Mitch said. "We've got a plan and we'll fill you in later." He told him with a pat on the shoulder. "Let's just go back before they realize we're gone." Mitch said as he was followed by both Hap and the woman he was with.

Ben could merely narrow his eyes as he knew that he'd have to help his fellow campers, for whatever they had planned for his friends, it wouldn't be good.
