The next night, Sonic came to Zelda's house for a sleepover. They had lots of fun. They looked through Zelda's scrapbook and saw some of Zelda's favourite memories. "I've had lots of fun times with WALL-E when I was young," whispered Zelda. "I remember when WALL-E got hurt twice in a row during the winter," said Sonic. "And when you and I helped WALL-E get his groove back," said Zelda. "But the best memory," said Sonic. "Is when we first met." Zelda smiled, recalling the time when Sonic came to her courtyard and gave her a green stone.
Flashback
"Who are you? How did you get past the guards?" asked the princess. She saw Navi on Sonic's shoulder. "Oh, what's that? Is that… a fairy? Then, you are… Are you from the forest?" Sonic smiled and waved. "Then, then, you wouldn't happen to have the spiritual stone of the forest, would you?" Sonic looked in the princess's hopeful eyes. "Do you have it?" she asked. "You mean this stone?" asked Sonic, handing her the green stone. The princess held it in her hands and giggled.
End of flashback
Just then, Impa came in and saw that Sonic and Zelda were playing perfectly quietly. "Oh. I thought you were running in the castle," she said with a nervous chuckle. "No, we were just looking at Zelda's favourite memories," said Sonic. "Oh," said Impa. "You know, Sonic, I've been thinking a lot about what you said and you're right. The rules should be easy and fair so Zelda can have a good time. There's lots of room in the castle hallways if you wanted to run around. Just saying." And she left the room. "Hey Sonic, let's have fun with my favourite winter memory with WALL-E," Zelda exclaimed quietly. "As long as you're not going to expect me to get a bruised bottom," said Sonic, teasingly. Zelda playfully elbowed him and they zoomed through the hallway.
They even sang a song in the castle ballroom.
That night, at bedtime, Sonic, having taken his shoes off, was on a mattress on the floor and Zelda, wearing a purple nightdress with a yellow triangle on the front, was in her bed. "Thank you, Sonic," said Zelda. "You're welcome," said Sonic with a tired sigh. "Do you have enough strength to tell me a bedtime story?" Asked Zelda. "Only if you play your favourite song to put us to sleep afterwards," said Sonic. "It's a deal," Zelda chuckled quietly. Sonic cleared his throat.
Sonic's Narration
Once upon a time, a little robot named WALL-E trundled through the woods when he heard a spooky wail and felt a cold wind rush past him. When he looked behind him, he saw the Ghost of the Forest. It was white and floated above the ground just like EVE. But its eyes were yellow like M-O's. WALL-E trembled and boxed up. The ghost agreed not to hurt him, but warned him that it would return someday. So when you see the moon shine through a cloudy sky on a camping trip, you'll know that those are the signs of…
End of Sonic's Narration
"The Ghost of the Forest!" Exclaimed Sonic. Zelda screamed, then laughed. "Oh, Sonic," she scoffed. "There's no such things as ghosts. WALL-E made that up to scare us. Remember?" Sonic nodded. "But what about the ghosts I saw in the Forest Temple?" He asked. "Those are phantoms," said Zelda. "You're right," Sonic shrugged. "Okay, Sonic," said Zelda. "Time to play my favourite song to help us sleep." She yawned and pulled out her ocarina. The princess played Zelda's Lullaby on her ocarina until Sonic fell asleep. "Goodnight, Sonic," she whispered as she fell asleep.
