The stars shone in the sky on a relaxing night in Paris, and romantic violins played in the background. On top of the Eiffel Tower was Gwen, who wore a beautiful blue dress. She was looking at the night sky.

"Gwen."

She turned to see Lincoln, wearing a suit with a teal tie, coming out of the elevator.

"You look handsome, Lincoln."

"And you look beautiful."

Both of them blushed for a moment. Lincoln took Gwen's hand.

"Do you want to dance?"

"Yes please."

The two dance like ballroom dancers with hearts in their eyes, not looking away from each other as they are around on top of the Eiffel Tower. At the end of the dance, Lincoln whispered into Gwen's ears.

"I got something to show you."

He leads Gwen down from the Eiffel tower to a small building with tons of flowers that formed 'I LOVE YOU.'

"This is the sweetest thing you have ever done," said Gwen

"I'm glad my hard work paid off," said Lincoln

Then Lincoln closed in on Gwen, and he was about to kiss her until thunder struck them and turned them into dust.

Gwen woke up in bed, looking out the window to see the rain pouring down from outside.

Stupid thunder

Then Gwen saw Lincoln at the dinette, drinking a cup of water and looking sad. She walked him, accidentally spooking him.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," said Gwen as she sat at the dinette right across from Lincoln

"It's alright," said Lincoln

"Couldn't sleep?"

"Yeah, and you?"

"Yeah this storm is getting wild."

"Hm,"

It was quiet between the two for a moment before Gwen asked Lincoln, who was deep in his thoughts.

"What are you thinking?"

"Nothing much, just my family."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"About your family. You only talk about them once?"

"That's because my family and aren't so close anymore."

"What happen?"

"There was accident…I don't want go into it."

"What accident?"

"I said I don't go into it." Lincoln was getting tense about it

"Okay." Gwen backing off on the subject

"S-ssorry it's just ... heavy stuff. Deal with it alone."

"It doesn't have to be my grandpa, and I can help you."

"...I don't know."

Lincoln looked down at the table and was about to burst into tears. Gwen switched seats, sat next to Lincoln, and hugged him as he started crying.

"It's fine, everything fine," said Gwen, gentle

"It's been so long since I've seen them."

Gwen had never handled a situation like this before. It was a little scary. Something happened to Lincoln that was traumatic. Maybe it was best to tell Grandpa about this; it could ruin their trust, but it was best for Lincoln. All she could do now was hold him and let him pour out his emotions as the rain outside started to calm down.
