Epilogue
AN: Here's the epilogue, sorry it's so short. I hope you enjoyed the continuation of my little one shot. I really enjoyed writing this.
After Audrey came back out just as she went in, everyone sighed in relief. Making their way back to the boat, Audrey suggested a town wide celebration be planned so everyone could rejoice at the Troubles being gone for good. Everyone agreed and it happened the following weekend.
Hermione and Duke spent the next day on his boat, mainly in his bedroom. After the celebration, which Severus and Poppy showed up for, Hermione returned to Britain to finish her Mastery in Potions. Duke was allowed to attend the ceremony and Hermione took great pleasure showing him her world. After a short stay, Hermione went back to Haven with Duke. He continued to run the Grey Gull and making short trips for his other profession, never being gone for long. Hermione started a potions business and traveled with Duke wherever he went.
Audrey Parker continued to be a detective for the Haven Police Department. Her and Nathan's relationship became a bit rocky but smoothed out after Garland had sat Nathan down for a long overdue heart to heart. Since then, the two were very close and had only minor waves to ride out.
Chief of Police, Garland Wuornos, continued to enjoy life. He was happy for every day he had. He thanked his lucky stars that a highly intelligent and fierce British witch showed up when she had. Although he and Nathan were getting closer, it had taken some time for his son to forgive him. It was worth it in the end.
The residents of Haven, most of them, had no clue what had happened. They just knew they were able to breathe easier, that Haven somehow felt lighter. Those who knew would smile and take each day as the blessed gift it was, even if they no longer resided in Haven, Maine.
