Kagome was shocked into absolute stillness. Like prey stuck in the gaze of the predator, struck still as marble.
"Everything?" She breathed. What did that even mean?
"Everything," he repeated. "But we may begin with this."
She felt his hand shift beside her. Felt the points of his claws and soft fingers brush over her cheek, slipping hair behind her ear. She felt her skin heat as he trailed his fingers down her throat, over her collarbone to dip beneath her robe, parting it. Felt the burn of his palm as it rested between her breasts.
Her eyes widened and her reiki flared again.
"Yes," he growled lowly, darkly. His eyes flashed red as his hand pulled away, then his fingers and finally his claws. She felt her reiki pull away from her, escape her in a tendril of sparkling pink light.
It danced around his claws, swirled over his fingers, sparked along his hand and dissipated.
Sesshomaru sighed and she watched him with wide eyes.
"What was that?" She wondered aloud.
"A visual manifestation of your reiki, little miko," he said, his eyes leaving his fingers to glance up at her. "Delightful, was it not?"
She'd never seen her reiki do that before. She'd never known there was a visual manifestation of reiki. The legends had suggested it was so when fighting youkai, but again, she thought they were fables.
To see it with her own eyes, to have this youkai literally draw it from her…she wouldn't have believed it had she not seen it.
Sesshomaru had yet to back away from her, and she felt claustrophobic.
"Can you…can you leave now? You got what you wanted, right?"
To her relief, he pulled back, a dark smirk on his lips. "Far from it, miko. But I will leave you for now."
She straightened with a huff. Why couldn't he just leave her alone? "But —."
"What are you called?" He suddenly demanded, surprising her yet again.
She hesitated and his smirk grew. "If you do not wish to answer, fine. However, I will not leave until you do."
She growled, glaring at him. "Kagome," she relented with a grumble.
He smiled, fangs gleaming, and took one step away from her, arrogance in every line of his body. "Worry not, Kagome," he purred. "I shall return."
"I wasn't —," he disappeared, and she deflated with a sigh. "Worried."
Glancing around her room, she peeked under her bed and inside her closet, just to ensure he was truly gone before grumbling. "I'd rather you didn't return at all."
She needed to speak to her grandfather.
And do something to strengthen her wards.
