A/N: Weren't expecting me to post something else on this story weren't you? This story is finished, but the Tale of the Yao Guai isn't and I'm in the final stages of the conception of the sequel story. So to warm you all up, I'm going to be posting two Character Sheets on two new cast members you'll be meeting in the sequel story.
Here's the first, enjoy!
Character Questions: Monako Saewa
Full name: Monako Saewa
Nickname: อเมซอน (Amazon: by her friends in Thailand), Saewa (by Yao and her co-workers at Interpol), Fashion Thai Warrior (unofficial moniker)
Occupation: Student, Fashion Designer in Training, Volunteer Interpol Agent.
Appearance: Tall woman standing at 6'0. Has dark skin and green eyes with black hair cut and fashioned in either a small afro or a short curly mohawk. Very fit due to her martial arts background.
Age: 21
Mannerisms: Kind and friendly but slightly introverted. Get her talking about fashion, however, and she can yap for hours. Very critical of other people's fashion choices, almost always criticizing whatever her eyes see. May God help you if she doesn't like what she sees.
What does he/she wear?: Glasses with a black rim and clear lenses. A buttoned-up white shirt with black suspenders and a black tie. Rolls her sleeves up and tapes her hands and lower forearms for a fight. Wears black formal slacks, black dress socks, and black combat boots. All of these she made herself, custom tailored for her height and physique. A piece of her first line of clothing which she calls 'Battledresses.' Lastly, when Monako isn't fighting, she wears a duster of the same color that compliments her slacks.
Favorite color: Midnight Purple
What is he/she good at?: A master of Muay Thai thanks to Sagat being her master. Thanks to her travels, she's an expert in Tae Kwon Do, Savate, Eskrima, Sanda, and Dutch Kickboxing. All of which she melds with her Muay Thai that's used as a base. Similar to Yao, Monako believes using just one Martial Art is flawed but often compares it to wearing one color in an outfit. One is a good base but you must add different colors, accessories, and the works for completion. Obviously, Monako is an expert in Fashion Design despite still being in school for it. Her teachers have allowed her to take commissions, she's that damn talented. Her sharp fashion sense makes critiquing others easy. Just don't expect her to sugarcoat anything.
What is he/she bad at?: Despite being a well-liked and respected agent and a fierce Martial Artist in her own right, Monako is nowhere near her boss Yao. Also, she doesn't have as much confidence in comparison to him, his now girlfriend in Chun, and best friend in Laura. It takes reassurance from Yao to allow Monako to beat opponents she normally can't.
What does he/she want?: Spread the fame and value that her Battledresses can provide.
What is his/her goal?: Graduate from Seijyun University, help Yao deal with S.I.N., and defeat Adon to restore Sagat's (and her) honor.
What lie does he/she believe?: That she isn't worthy of being Sagat's student.
What flaw results from the lie?: She's very defensive when her skills as a Thai warrior and Sagat's teachings are questioned.
What truth does he/she learn?: That she's worth the legacy of being Sagat's final pupil.
What is his/her background?:
Monako Saewa was born and raised in Bangkok Thailand by her parents in one of the slums. Though the family struggled, Monako was loved and cared for. Wanting to repay her parents, she started picking street fights for money. Eventually, one of her fights was viewed by the God of Muay Thai, Sagat. He noticed her talents and with her parent's permission, took Monako under his wing to teach her the art of Muay Thai. She trained for a vicious five years and left Thailand at eighteen to travel the world and hone her Muay Thai.
For as long as she could remember, Saewa was always fascinated by fashion. She would peek on her small tv that her parents had or the one Sagat allowed her to have while living with him. She would watch all the fashion shows the basic cable had and when she wasn't on death's door due to training, she studied fashion design. After leaving, Monako decided to travel to the fashion capitals of the world and a few places she personally wanted to see. Her travels took her to France, Italy, China, the Netherlands, and the Philippines where she learned Savate, Sanda, Dutch Kickboxing, and unarmed Eskrima. She also learned bits and pieces of fashion in tandem with the various arts.
Sagat caught wind of this, however, and no longer deemed Monako his pupil. Though saddened by this way of thinking, Monako still holds her time with Sagat with high and positive regard. Eventually, she became so adept at Fashion Designing, she received a full ride at the University equivalent of Seijyun High, Seijyun University, as the sole foreigner in the institution. Monako quickly looked for volunteer work since she was so far ahead of her fellow students and had nothing to do before eventually landing with Interpol. It was then she would have a fated meeting with one Wuming Yao, who became her boss. Yao holds her in high regard and has a great deal of respect for the Thai Woman.
And the pair would grow to be great friends.
Additional Questions for Monako?
- What was the inspiration for creating Monako?
A few years ago, there was a weigh-in for a female MMA bout. Angela Hill, one of the fighters, dressed up as Sagat, eyepatch and all. She even did his Alpha win pose where he makes an X across his chest scar and laughs. Unfortunately, she lost the fight, but she and the cosplay were the main inspiration.
- How long does she plan on staying with Interpol?
Monako will stay as long as she's still in school. When she graduates and becomes official, who knows? Fashion Design will always take priority, but if asked or if Yao insists, she'll be the first there.
- Does Monako ever answer to Chun-Li if Yao isn't reachable?
She and Yao are both volunteers but Yao, thanks to his probation, has worked with Interpol for many years. He's well-known, respected, and even feared in Interpol. Monako is the lowest on the ladder, but that doesn't stop her from giving her snooty superiors a well-deserved attitude. So if Yao's not available, she would prefer to answer to Chun since she knows they are seeing each other. Either she or
- When should we expect to see Monako make her debut?
Monako is planning on making an appearance in the sequel SF story, Sennin Wanted, and the KOF story. (How, I don't know yet. But I want to include her in some way) She'll have her part to play and personal demons to fight. I trust I'll make her a welcome addition to whatever cast she joins.
