Chapter 2: Typical Analysis

When he opened his eyes at first, all he could register was the cold feeling coursing through his skin and confusion rampaging in his mind.

The analyst felt disoriented, as thousands of thoughts filled his mind, but the real question is…what happened?

He seems to be in a morgue, could it be an accident has happened? Probably, considering that they feel the need to dump him here, they are also something lethal that normal people can't get back at.

But other than the feeling of the bareness of the lack of clothes, he can't feel anything imply that he has been through something dangerous.

So he does the most reasonable thing he could in this situation, trying to find the cause of this…whatever this situation is.

And it's the dead of night, the door is locked and there are not many people here. But there is some paper that gave him insight into what happened.

'Name: Izuku Midoriya

Quirk: Quirkless

Sex: Male

Cause of death: Self-harm/ Severe head trauma.'

Somehow that gave the analyst a shiver up his spine…that name is familiar. No, it was his name. Was? That doesn't sound right…his name is not supposed to be Izuku.

Come to think about it, what's even his name?

He can't recall if he has a name at all…and that in itself isn't very reassuring.

But if this paper is right, then that means there is a 98,6% chance that he suicide and actually succeeded. Which isn't good in any shape or form but it gave him insight into what happened.

Did that mean there is some kind of revival quirk at play? Potentially delayed one? There is a 73,543% chance that it's the case. And memory loss a possible drawback? No…that does not really sit right with him.

If this is really memory loss, it doesn't explain well the specific loss of memories at a seemingly predetermined moment. In fact, the analyst can't remember anything from his own analysis.

Unless…this has something to do with his quirk. No maybe not his…or he himself is a quirk? Is that only activated at the user's death? That's awfully morbid…

No…he has always been there…so he becomes dominant upon the user's death, taking the user's place instead? That's…fucked-up, to say the least.

The percentage of this being true? 50,19%.

No…he has way too little information to make a clear judgment. He has to learn more.

For now, it's important that he figured out what to do next…

Telling somebody? Someone will surely come to the morgue in the morning, so that's something to keep in mind. Will it end up badly? There's an 89,24% chance it will. Whoever he is right now, he remembered a kind woman's presence every time he was fixated in his work. That must be his mother. How he is supposed to approach her, saying to a grieving mother her son that suicide and succeeded has woken up from the dead with no memory of his own and probably altered personality?

That's a recipe for disaster if there's ever one. And he can't even imagine he will attract unwanted attention. A teenage boy that woke up after death? There's a 96,74% chance that someone will want to dissect him to find the secret of immortality or some shit. So yeah, that's a no-go.

So first, he must get out of here, remain inconspicuous and make sure no one recognizes him. Which isn't hard, mind you, now that he looked in the mirror.

Gone was the dark green color in his hair and viridescent of his eyes, instead replaced by lame white hair and awfully bored gray eyes. If not for the freckles on his face, he won't even realize that he was Izuku Midoriya at one time.

Or at least, this body was.

Anyway, that means that he can just skip the disguise part. And now he can find a way to get out of the morgue. Perhaps he can wait until morning and sneak out when they opened the door. A classic, but it has a 67,45% chance to work without him being noticed. Or he could break the window and climb out…

He decided to do the latter…

It was almost lame in a way, how easy to break out of the morgue. There is no camera, but the analyst was careful not to leave behind any fingerprints.

He also took with him a jean and a jacket left behind by some irresponsible morgue assistant. It even has a nameplate in it, which he rips out and threw into the trash. The reason for this stealing is that people won't respond kindly to a child barely naked…and seemingly no visible signs of having a healthy lifestyle.

But seriously, no camera? He can do whatever he wants and desiccate whatever corpse he hates…but he figured out why. This morgue is mostly for quirkless people, claiming that's for their…special condition. Or maybe people just don't like quirkless people, even in death, which has an 86,98% chance to be true.

Quirk discrimination aside, now it's time for some information gathering…

That's why he's now sitting in a library, using a computer to search for information that may or may not relate to his condition.

It has been so easy to trick the librarian with to excuse of self-study. Well, technically that's true, and it's certainly a boon that she doesn't seem to be privy to other's business.

There are countless of information on the internet, but he made sure he wasn't distracted by articles about very interesting quirks and instead focus on getting his problem fixed first.

And there are quite a few that caught his eyes…

First, there's a disorder that's fairly popular, D.I.D, short for dissociative identity disorder, that's characterized by the multiple personalities aspect. This is pretty close considering that's accompanied by gaps in memory when different personalities took control. So perhaps he's still Izuku or an aspect of him. And it's often a result of long-term childhood trauma.

…fun.

Second, he figured out that he probably has an analysis quirk. Maybe not Izuku Midoriya, but him exclusively. There's an article about how quirks work in people with personality disorders. In some cases, different personalities use quirks in different ways that appeal to their outlets. In some cases where different personalities have access to different aspects of a quirk. A child, called G for a disclosed reason, uses a strong healing quirk normally but during personality shifts, instead uses everyone else's life force to bounce back from a mortal injury.

That doesn't explain why analysis comes to be from a seemingly quirkless child, but it's something to look out for later.

Then, albeit a little unrelated, there is an urban legend about a character called Boogeyman that has thousands of quirks, that can take and give quirk at his own will. A terrifying ability, but atlas not something he has time to pay any mind to now.

After that, the analyst tries to read anything he can, absorb information like a sponge, and even uses the public library to hack into some sensitive files from the association involving multiple aspects quirks. He can make do with what he got.

And the analyst even gets his own name…kinda hard not to answer when somebody try to ask you. Mikumo Akatani was chosen…a little bit of shifting of Izuku Midoriya produced the final result.

But now when the sun starts to go down, Mikumo begins to regret being too absorbed in his work that he forgot to find somewhere to stay the night. He missed having a home…or being alive, in this case. It's unnerving to realize that everything can't be the same anymore.

Begrudgingly, he settled for some old sofa in the heap of trash overflow Dagobah Beach. This day has been especially tiring, to say the least. And strangely, he felt comfortable sleeping in the trash (blame his apathy). With a general outline of what to do tomorrow, he closes his eyes and went to sleep.

Thinking about the mess that he's about to face doesn't reassure him in the slightest…

When Mikumo closed his eyes, a maniac instead takes his place as she opened her eyes to the cold surrounding.

Twitching her body in confusion, and possibly surprise, she rolled down from the sofa. That prickling sensation in her back isn't helping at all…

But she miscalculated as her body escaped the sofa only to hits a broken television on the way.

"FUCK!" She cursed, rubbing her hurting head...totally not a good idea.

However, that feeling is soon overwhelmed by the feeling of awe and surprise in her heart...

She inspected her hand, closing and opening it, try to move her body around, and even attempt a backflip (which she succeeded, somehow). The thing is, she felt her body listening intently to whatever her mind had to say, as she tries to do a quick jab.

Spectacular...but...

What's happening here? She can remember the memory of training in self-defense class, refining her move to the fullest. But this is the first time she woke up to the cold of the night…what could have caused this?

Nah…no uses thinking about that. What's important now is she explores this territory to the fullest. If this is the first time, then it means she breaks some sort of limitation, right?

That's exciting in a way…

So with that in mind, the maniac takes off sprinting as she takes the scenery of the beach in, with cold air colliding in her face…

She jumped, using her feet to occasionally kick away pieces of metal on the way, grinning madly as she felt its weight collide with her feet.

It was the first time she felt this kind of freedom as excitement bubbled in her chest…

It's time to have some fun!
