Chapter 17, A love between two spirits
Tooth zipped about her Palace as she inspected every last detail. She came up to the columns, inspecting the small boxes that contained the children's teeth. Only to find that nothing seemed out of place.
"Lets see, William, Kate, Paula?" She said before breathing a sigh of relief.
"Oh good, they are all here!"
Of course there when it came to Pitch Black, one could never be so sure. Especially after what happened last year. She the zipped back as she turned to her fairs, who were still hard at work delivering the teeth they collected. All of which appeared to be accounted for. She then heard a small voice as baby tooth zipped up to her, having come from the other side of the palace.
"Baby tooth, anything to report?" Tooth asked curiously.
Baby Tooth shook her head to her, speaking in small squeaks as she gave her report.
"All fairy's are accounted for." Tooth said as she then sighed.
"What a relief."
It was right at that moment that one of Bunny's holes appeared over the walkway behind them. It was there that Bunny leaped out of the hole.
"Tooth!" Bunny said.
Tooth zipped down to him.
"Bunny!" Tooth said.
She then heard Baby Tooth, who pointed back behind them. Tooth turned and saw Sandy, floating down from above.
"Sandy!" She said
"Any sign of Pitch?" Bunny asked
Tooth shook her head to him.
"No, everything's okay here." Tooth insisted to him
"Still feel believed in. How about you?"
Sandy shook his head, smiling. As if to insist that all the drams were also safe from Pitch's touch.
"How are thing back at the Warren?" Tooth asked, curiously.
"No sign of old boogeyman back there," Bunny said, gesturing toward the hole behind him which the disappeared.
"Next years Easter Eggs are safe and sound at the Warren."
"And your still your normal size." Tooth joked.
Bunny groaned, shuddering at the mere thought of what happened the year before. Sandy covered his mouth with his hands, as if he was laughing.
"Don't remind me of that." he said.
Tooth chuckled.
Bunny cocked his head, turning his questioning gaze out over the Tooth Palace. He squinted his eyes, shaking his head. First the Pitch shows up at Burgess and then at the North Pole and now all of a sudden just disappeared.
"This doesn't make sense," Bunny said.
"Pitch just shows up out of the blue to attack us and then just suddenly disappears."
Sandy shrugged to him as a question mark formed over his head. Just as confused as he was over this whole ordeal. Pitch had said that he would get revenge on them for imprisoning him in his layer. And now that he seem to be enough fear to give him enough power and he only attack's North.
"Yeah, you said it, Sandy." Bunny said, folding his arms over his chest.
"Something smells fishy."
"What do you think he's up to?" Tooth asked, curiously.
"I dunno, but something tells me it's got something to do with Elsa." Bunny insisted to her.
The Notion that Elsa was involved with Pitch caused Tooth to squinted her eyes in disbelief. While it was true they had only had just met her, but even in that short time, the kind and caring spirit of Elsa could still be felt. The very notion that she would be working with someone like Pitch was impossible to even fathom.
"Wait, you don't think Elsa has something to do with this?" Tooth asked, shaking her head.
"Think about it, you both saw the Globe, Manny's warning!" Bunny proclaimed to them.
"There's no way Manny would go through all this trouble to protect someone, if it didn't mean all the children are in danger. She must be the reason Pitch is here."
Tooth and Sandy both exchanged a glance to each other, both of a nervous and curious nature. It would stand to reason that Elsa was indeed connected to all that was happening. Regardless of intent, she was the cause of everything that was happening and was the reason that Pitch returned.
"But what would Pitch want with Elsa?" Tooth asked, curiously.
Bunny shook his head.
"We need to get back to the North Pole." Bunny said.
Jamie and his friends had taken cover behind two separate snow forts. Exchanging tosses of snow balls from behind their cover. As well as that of laughter and joy, even after being struck by one. All the while, Jack soured about the field, creating snowballs for them with his staff. While also exchanging several snow balls of his own.
All the while, Elsa watched from from the side as Jack played with the children. Several snow balls came her way, causing her to quickly duck, chuckling. She then creating several snow balls as she tossed them back at Jamie and his friends.
Flying down from above, the winter sprite threw a snow ball down at Pippa, Cupcake and Monty.
"Look out below!" Jack called out.
Monty stood up, just about to toss a snowball. Only to be struck in the face by his snowballs, causing him to fall back over the ground. Pippa and Cupcake glanced down to him, gasping as they tried to hold back his laughter. He glanced back, grinning.
"Whoops." Jack said.
He glanced back at Elsa, who covered her mouths with both hands, trying to hold back her laughter. Monty stood up off the ground, shaking his head. Though rather then being in pain, he then laughed. Quickly standing up again as he shook his head. He then glanced around, looking for his glasses.
Elsa glanced down and saw his glasses laying in the snow. She came up, picking up his glasses from the snow.
"Are these yours?" Elsa asked, curiously.
Monty turned back to her, smiling. He took them and placed over his nose, pushing them up over her eyes. He then smiled, glancing up to Elsa.
"Thanks." he said.
Elsa smiled. She then felt one stuck her from behind. Turning back, she saw Jack perched over his staff.
"Got you, El." Jack proclaimed to her.
Elsa grinned, moving one hand behind her back as a snow ball. Before Jack could react, Elsa tossed her snow ball at Jack which struck him in the face, causing him to fall off his staff. Plummeting into a small pile of snow below. Jack leaned up his head, shaking his head.
"Wow." Jack said.
Elsa cupped her hands over her mouth, covering that beautiful smile. A slight chuckle escaped from her lips. She then came up over to Jack.
"Are you okay?" She asked, bending down to him.
Jack picked himself off the ground, brushing off the snow from his sweater.
"Yeah, thanks I'm Good." Jack insisted.
He glanced to Elsa, not appearing to take any offense to have been hit with a snow ball. Rather seeming impressed. It was not often that anyone was able to hit Jack Frost in a snowball fight.
"I must say, you got quite the hand on you, Snowflake." Jack proclaimed to her.
Elsa smiled.
"Why Jack Frost, don't you know it's rude to throw a snowball at a woman." Elsa teased.
Reaching up her hand, she brushed off the small amount of snow over his shoulder. The moment that followed saw he staring up into the ice blue eyes of the winter spirit, memorized once more by how handsome he was. So too was Jack, who became lost in the beauty of the snow Queen. Without even realizing it, Jack began to close the distance between them. So too did Elsa.
Just as their lips were about to touch, the two were snapped back to reality by Jamie calling to them.
"Jack, Elsa!"
The two glanced back at Jamie and his friends, who came up to them.
"I was wondering if we could show my friends Elsa's ice castle?!" Jamie proclaimed.
The Winter Sprits then turned back to each other, seeing how close they were to each other. The two quickly departed, shifting their gazes in opposite directions. Seeming embarrassed at what they were about to do. Though at the same, the redness of their faces seemingly gave away their true feeling on the matter.
As noticed by Pippa, who raised an eye brow at the two.
"Oh... uh, yes, of course." Elsa said, nodding her head.
"Uh, yeah, right, why don't we... uh...?" Jack said, trying to find the words to say.
"Um... yes... yes, we should...uh, go." Elsa agreed.
"Great, come on!" Jamie said as he ran ahead along with his friends.
"You guys are going to love it!"
Jack and Elsa both exchanged a glance to each other, grinning. Their eyes departing once more with a slight chuckle, blushing. They then turned and followed Jamie and the other children. Pippa being the last to follow, glancing to the two, curiously. She squinted her eyes. Having noticed something familiar happening between the two spirits of winter.
She wondered if it could be... Love?
Upon emerging from the forest, Pippa and the others gazed up in awe at the sight of Elsa's castle.
"No way!" Claude said.
"Wow!" Monty said, pushing up his glasses.
"This is soo Cool!" Pippa proclaimed.
Hearing what Jamie and his friends were saying, Elsa couldn't help but smile. Those Dimond blue eyes shifted to the side as her cheeks turned rose red. Like how Jamie was when he first came to the palace, they all seemed amazed to see her ice palace. For the longest time, she feared how this new world would react if they ever saw her powers.
Though from seeing how Jack was around the children, like how Arrendelle reacted, they were all in awe at what her magic was capable of.
"Come on, you guys need to see what's inside!" Jamie said as he raced over to the entrance.
As Pippa and the other Kids followed after him, Jack came up next to Elsa. Glancing to the snow queen, the Winter sprite gestured a sly grin to her.
"See, I told you." Jack said, playfully nudging her.
Elsa sifted his eyes to him, smiling. She sifted her eyes to the side. Jack was right, being around him, Jamie and all the other children brought about a feeling she had longed for. Not since long ago in Arrendelle and back at the Enchanted forest.
Belonging.
"You know, that was a pretty nice thing you did for Monty." Jack complemented.
"Kid can take a hit."
Elsa glanced up to him.
"Thank you, it's something... someone was taught to do long ago." Elsa insisted to him.
Jack paused.
"You mean Anna." He said.
Elsa gestured a nod of her head, confirming Jack's suspicions. Elsa glanced down at her hands. Even in the many years that had passed, the words of her sister were always kept close to her heart. Even in these years she had spent away in isolation. Afraid to venture out into this new world.
"She taught me that... Love is more powerful then fear." Elsa proclaimed.
The mention of Love caused Jack to glanced to her, squinting his eyes, curiously.
"Love?" Jack asked.
As they came up the stairway, Pippa entered the castle. She then paused there in awe at the sight of a swarm of small snowmen. Jamie and the others were already inside, playing with them. Jamie turned back to her with several snowman standing over his shoulder and head.
"What are those?" She said, smiling
"I don't know, but their so cool!" Claude proclaimed to them.
Pippa glanced back through the open doorway, where she toward Jack and Elsa. She then paused, seeing their gazes meeting once more. It all but confirmed what she was thinking. She was right. They liked each other. They really liked each other.
Jamie came up to her.
"Pippa?" Jamie asked, curiously.
Pippa glanced up at Jamie and the others, who were all glancing to her curiously. Having noticed her gazing back out the doors of the Palace.
"What are you looking at?" Jamie asked, curiously.
Pippa shifted her glanced back to the two winter spirits.
"Hey guys, I think there's something going on with Jack and Elsa." She said, gesturing over to Jack and Elsa.
Jamie turned to her curiously
"What do you mean?" Jamie asked.
"Look, I don't know for sure, but I think they might like each other." Pippa proclaimed to them.
Jamie glanced to Pippa.
"Sure they do, Jack and Elsa look like the best of friends." Jamie insisted to her.
Pippa shook her head.
"No, I mean, LIKE, Like." Pippa proclaimed to them.
Pippa's claimed only continued to earn her the confused, squinting eyes of Jamie and the other kid. Still no quite understanding what she was trying to tell them. They glanced back to Elsa and Jack, who were faced with once another. Jamie suddenly paused. The realization at what she was saying then set in.
"Wait, what?!" Jamie exclaimed, cocking his head to her.
"No way!" Caleb said.
Pippa grinned as she gestured a nodded her head to him.
"Look at them," Pippa insisted to them.
"They look perfect for each other."
The six friends came up to the open doorway, where they each glanced to the two sprits of winter. The two of them seeming to be deep in conversation. They them saw Jack reach up his hand as he placed it atop Elsa's bear shoulder. The snow queen glanced up at him, smiling.
"They are kind of cute together." Cupcake complemented.
"Uh, I guess so." Monty said, shrugging.
"Yeah, they would be good for each other." Caleb agreed.
Jamie squinted his eyes, curiously. He had noticed the way that they looked at each other. But he didn't think anything of it. Nor did he even understand that Love. He was too young to understand such things and simply believed that they would be the best of friends. Yet the more he thought about it, from all the time he had spent with both Elsa and Jack, the two did seem to be perfect for one another.
And maybe they would be happy if they were together. Excited by this, he then turned back to Pippa and the others.
"Your right!" Jamie proclaimed.
Pippa and the others turned to Jamie.
"What?" Pippa asked, curiously.
"They are perfect for each other!" Jamie insisted to them.
"Think about it. You said it yourself, Pippa."
Jamie then turned back to Jack and Elsa.
"Maybe if they were together, then maybe, they wouldn't have to be alone anymore." Jamie insisted to them.
Pippa and the others glanced to each other, thinking about what Jamie was saying. They all knew that Jack had been wondering the Earth for over three hundred years. And the same no doubt could be said for Elsa. Perhaps it would be good if they were together. And it already seemed they had feelings for one another.
They just needed to help them see that.
"Yeah, Jamie's right," Caleb agreed.
The other Kids nodded their heads.
"But how are we going to get them together?" Pippa asked, curiously.
"Don't worry, I know what to do." Jamie said.
