"Did you say pregnant?" Carmen asked in shock.

"Yes." "I would like to exam you." "Please get behind the divider and put the gown on."

During the exam Carmen learned that she was two months pregnant. She was given a sonogram picture. She had to tell someone. She was driving to Maria's house.

"I can't believe I'm pregnant." She thought. "I hope Randy is as happy as I am." "I hope he wants the baby." "I know we're engaged but a baby is something completely different."

Carmen had just gotten to Maria's house. They went into the kitchen.

"Do you want a glass of wine?" Maria asked.

"I can't, it's not good for my baby." She said smiling.

Maria looked at her. "What?"

"I'm pregnant." "I just came from the doctor."

"That's great." She said happily. They hugged. "What did Randy say?"

"He doesn't know yet." "I'm telling him when he comes back on Friday."

"Why are you waiting?"

"I don't want to tell him I'm having his baby over the phone." "I just hope he wants it."

"I'm sure he will."

Later that night Max had just gotten home from work. He got on his computer and onto a website. He'd put a tracker on Carmen's car when he pulled her over.

"Why was she at her doctor?" He thought. "Is she sick?" "That motherfucker better not have knocked her up." "Damn it, I wish I didn't need a warrant to access her medical records."

Three nights later it was Friday. Randy had just gotten to Carmen's apartment. They sat down on the couch.

"Do you have anything planned tomorrow?" Randy asked.

"No."

"My realtor wants to show us five houses in St. Charles."

"Ok." "Randy, on Tuesday I went to my doctor." "I'm pregnant, I'm having your baby." "I want to keep it and I hope you do to."

He kissed her. "Of course I do." He smiled. "I'm gonna be a daddy." He said happily. "How far along?"

"Two months." He smiled again. "What?"

"Well we probably conceived it after I proposed to you, on top of your desk."

"Yeah that was probably it." "Here look, this is a picture of the baby." She showed him the sonogram.

"That's the baby?"

"Yeah."

"And everything's ok?"

"Everything's great." They kissed.
