Chapter 7
Kagome sighed as she counted the stars again, it was something that comforted her. She felt the loss of her beloved and her children she miscarried. And as well as her other children that she hasn't seen in so long. But she looked at the lot of them that sparkled like diamonds. Kagome eye twitched in annoyance at the sounds of the distant music drifted up on a night breeze. It was of merrymaking, and it made her angry at the sound of it. the celebration of Thor return. She should of phreaking known that they would do this. Asgard loves to freaking parties. It might as well be New York or something around here. But in her own thoughts it was way to soon after the death of her beloved emerald of her heart and soul. And one of their princes. One who tried to be their king. and a good and great king at that,
Loki did mess up. and yes, but his heart had been in it. and she could see that. his broken heart. She closed her pink and red eyes. And took a deep steady breath. while she tried to force the tears of her broken heart back. She was just way too tired to start crying again. There was a very small sort of funeral for Loki. But considering the bullshit Odin had not wanted it to be usual. Larger affairs like normal ones. It was just Frigga Thor and herself. And inu no taishi and inukimi, the time it had felt very peaceful and private and wondered if Loki was with her father right now. bit now she thinks of it as a blasphemous way his asshole of a father planned it. and it was one of their princes and one of his sons. Yes, an adopted one but that didn't matter, he should have had the same type of funeral. Kagome rubbed her eyes with her palms. And the one thing the freaking favoritism was all she could come up with and the bitterness of it made her hate Odin more.
Kagome sighed and knew it wasn't Thor fault in all of this. He didn't to be treated better than his younger brother who didn't know he was adopted in the first place. It made sense. But Odin should have treated Loki the same way even if he was not of blood as he was. But Thor did love Loki as if he was his own brother. Even if he was a little blinded to some things. And he was mourning too. She could tell when it came down to Thor. So, when he knocked on her door in the middle of his welcome home party. His sad wilted soul brushing against her from the other side of her chambers. She opened the door and allowed him in. He had a tray of food for her. Thor has always been thoughtful when it came down to the fact that he cared for her. even though she knew he loved her deeply as his sister. It was something that has been since the beginning.
"I got you something to eat Kagome. I knew you wouldn't wish to come down to the party." Said Thor
"I'm sorry I just can't attend something like that. it just an awful thing." Said Kagome
"Oh, please my sister doesn't apologize to me. I understand how you are feeling. I didn't want to do this so close to well you know. Everything. But you know how father is since he was the one who insisted on this party." Said Thor
Thor sighed and knew where Kagome was coming from. This was out of poor taste when it came down to what his father had done. He should of never have thrown a party for his homecoming. Not after the loss of Loki. Even though his father never listens to him. even though he needed, and his mother needed Odin to stop this party. But Odin did what Odin wanted. Even though the funeral was a slap in the face when it came down to the fact that Odin just gave a shitty funeral for Loki. Even though they all had one behind Odin back after the shit fest of one that was planned by Odin. Loki deserved a proper goodbye. Kagome sighed and knew Thor was trying his best to be with her. and take care of her. but right now, she didn't even know what to think. But for now, she was going to continue and move on. inu no taisho wanted to kill Odin for how badly Loki has been treated. And how kagome is being treated his daughter is being treated by him.
"When you feel like it. I would like to speak to you about something I saw and people and beings I saw. I went to your homeland Kagome! I have no one else to really share this with." Chirped Thor
"So, you went to either death city? Or Satan city? Or a few other places?" asked Kagome
Thor arched a brow from what she had just said. He had to focus on the ceiling. Trying to remember the name of the place he crashed into. Even though the green man was rather rude. Along with the team of dancing fools. Even though there was a big guy who was always trying to fight him, they were the types of protectors. Well, he was unable to figure their power. But he could sense it though. They didn't bother him much, only gave him a warning and left in the blink of an eye. Even though he had a feeling they were not far from where they were watching him to make sure he didn't make a wrong move. Even though the one male kind of looked like kagome in some way. but for now, he was not going to ask much. But he wondered if the beings who he encountered were connected to kagome in some way. even though the flamed haired man was the one who was more in charge. But he sensed there was more to the that male.
"No New Mexico, but I met a group of beings and they made sure they made their point known. The one with the flame like hair is the one who was the powerful one through all the group." Said Thor
"Oh, Thor you were somewhere completely. But the one person you met was my father, my birth father. But the others are probably connected to me. They do that when a new threat comes to earth. I am sure they were watching you the whole time." Said Kagome
Thor smiled he met kagome father. The one who gave birth to her to give her life. And the soul king. but those thoughts were for another time. But he opened his arms. Kagome sighed and rushed into them. letting him squeeze the life out of her. she sniffled and cried a bit. And she kissed her head before pushing her back by her shoulders. He was trying his best to help her through this. But now he understood why they were there to greet him when he crashed and landed. But she did explain why they were there so quickly. She showed him the power call instant transmission. Something that could be used. And it made all sense. But for now, he has so much more he wished to tell her. like the woman who loved him, and he loved her in return. Even though there was more to the story because and how he fell for her. even though she did hit him with a truck.
meanwhile two years later
Loki walked behind his brother with his eyes forward. Ignoring the chattering of the gathered crowds come to watch one of the heroes of the earth march the big evil bastard away. The tesseract thrummed nearby. Even though the true hero of earth stayed away from the fight. They knew this was one they were not going to get involved in. but Loki had genuinely thought they had forgotten him when he was finally summoned to receive Odin judgement. It had been months with only guards sent to deliver his prison food. He thought being shown any favor. He was tugged in by chains to stand before his bastard of a father to receive punishment and his sentence. His mother is there and the shame and sadness in her eyes gets to him. but he won't let her get to him.
"Well hello mother dearest. Haven't I made you proud." Hissed Loki
"Please don't make this worse my son." Said Frigga
Odin cut into him with several barbs and insults. Probably hoping it would take him down a few pegs and four notches. And as well to embarrass him as well. put him in his place as it would seem in Odin books, he thinks is right, but standing there in heavy chains fresh from a failed suicide attempt and failed takeover. Mind control issues notwithstanding. And mind-numbing lonely imprisonment. And hoping to not drop the soap. Even though he wished for one thing. But he knew none of them would let him have it. or let him see what he wanted. But for now, he was going to see what was going to happen to him. and see what the great old fart Odin was going to do to him. and see if he shows any remorse for his son. Well, his adopted son.
Meanwhile a little while later
Kagome sighed and time marched on. though at one-point Kagome had been very uncertain that it would. But her pains and her grief were just getting to her. She has been hanging around with Heimdall and talking to him a lot. He was very insightful. No wonder he was there to take over the gate. And then there is her brother Thor. He was helpful. But kagome thoughts were cut off by something she hasn't felt in a good while. And she was going to follow the feelings that she was feeling. Thor perked up at her narrowed eyes. Thor followed her and she found it. Loki was alive and there before her. as she gasped, he was there alive before her. she flashed over to him and threw her arms around his neck. And felt the breath in his lungs.
"Loki your alive. You're in chains… what?" asked Kagome
" I thought I told you to keep her busy." Snapped Odin
"I'm sorry father. I tried but she." Said Thor
Kagome eyes narrowed and turned to meet Thor pained gaze. Betrayal blooming and spreading through her heart. How dare he lie to her. let her grieve for a man she loved. And had the nerve to keep her away. And Odin dared to think that he can order her around. As if she was some sort of person of his to do so. He is far from the truth there. She was not even his to order around. Thor gulped and knew that look. He warned his father. That Kagome was not his to order around. She was a queen of her own realm. But being kept from her soulmate was a dangerous thing. And he was going to point the time guardian to his father next time.
"You were keeping him from me. You knew he was alive, and you didn't fucking tell me!" hissed Kagome
"Kagome It's not that…." stuttered Thor
"You knew he was alive, and you fucking tell me." Hissed Kagome
Kagome backed away from Thor before she did something she would regret. She wanted to be far away from Thor and not even want him to touch her. and Odin the fucking bastard that he is. But she was growing closer to Loki. The solid feeling of his life at her back bolstered her. Loki closed his eyes he felt his wife's pain and it was wrong. How could Thor do something like this to her. and he claimed to love her as a sister. But he was going to hurt Thor for causing his beloved pain. And Odin makes him hate him even more so now.
"You didn't tell her I was here." Said Loki
"you've watched me morin for him nearly two years. Alone with the twins I miscarried. And you were just going to keep this from me." Hissed Kagome
Kagome turned to Odin who had no power over him. Even if he thinks he does. Since he thinks he all mighty god who rules over them. but her father is higher ranked than he is. But she was not going to rub that in his face just yet. Loki was angered to know she was in pain from his loss. And he was not happy to know that this was kept from his beloved. How dare that fucking ass do that to her. if he was able to meet vegeta he would make sure he pulled hell fire down on Odin for daring to do this to Kagome.
"Why is he being chains. Let him go." Demanded Kagome
"He is in chains because he is a prisoner, he is going to the dungeons. And you will never see him again." Snapped Odin.
"You can't do nothing my father outranks you before you think you can order me around." Hissed Kagome
Thor voice was barely above a whisper since he knew she called rank and that never a good sign when king vegeta gets involved. Odin knew what would happen if vegeta found out what he had been doing to his daughter. He never met the man before. But he knew the man is fierce warrior and his father feared vegeta. The man who is also the soul king. but Loki accepted his punishment. Odin, without looking away from her knowing she spoke the truth. And she counted all the tiny secrets that asked for life in the emerald depths of eyes she never dared to investigate again. She walked away and was going to try and think of what she should do now. even though she knew her husband was alive and well. and she would not be kept from him.
Meanwhile a few days later
Kagome was uncomfortable and her discomfort multiple by the second as she watched Thor approached her with a woman who held a divinity in her soul at all. and she could smell the human not so far away from her. why the hell did Thor bring him freaking human women here? Kagome groaned and was not in the mood for dealing with something like this. Kagome growled as she stood at the spot she has been standing at for a while. As she was trying her best not to give the best ice lord stare of her beloved brother sesshamarou. And trying to act like the kind sister that could be now. But she didn't want to make nice with thorn right now since he pulled a huge dick move on her. How dare he have the nerve lying to her that her husband was not there and still did. And now she was not sure what she was going to do about how she wanted to handle him right now. but it was going to be something to make her husband and her children who love tricking proud.
"Kagome I would like to introduce you to Jane Forster, Jane this is my beloved sister Kagome." Said Thor
"Hello jane it is very nice to meet you." said Kagome
Kagome eyed the human in front of her and tried to get a better feel of the darkness she could feel swimming around inside of her. it not as closes to darkness as narkau or dumbledor. But it was deep inside of her, and she was wondering what the hell was wrong with this human and why she was feeling this way. There was nothing special about her when it came down to her history from what she could tell in her soul. But she could tell she was not making jane rather uncomfortable. Wells he should be feeling that way since she was stuck in darkness. Something she knew all too well. and Thor has a lot of explaining to do why she was feeling and why she is here in the first place. And if he thinks she came to her to help his human then he has a lot of asses kissing to do.
"Charmed, I am sure. Thor what's…." Said Kagome
"You know, I didn't understand why, and your brother looked so different now I get it. She is different as well. more like she demon. How can I tell if any of you are siblings?" asked jane
"Listen here human. Loki is not my brother. Thor, what the hell is wrong with your human? Why the hell is she oozing with darkness?" snapped kagome
"Kagome, I know you're still angry with me, she came into contact with the aether. I was hoping you might be able to get it out of her? none of our healers were unable to do so. father says its dangerous to leave it in her too long. "pleaded Thor
Kagome sighed as she was focusing on it again. Looking past jane soul. And examining the power intruding in her body. Odin was correct for once. This substance was eating away at her soul. And if not to be removed soon it could kill her. and in which might not go to soul society or either place affiliated for souls. Kagome huffed annoyed to help a human she doesn't even know. Was she waved them to follow her. as she led them to one of the balconies nearby, one far away from the other, milling around to find some privacy. Thor and jane whispered behind her. and that was making her annoyance and anger grow more and more. Even though Thor should have known this would annoy the hell out of her. and this human never explained to anyone about what Loki had back home. And that pissed her off even more when it came down to the fact, he didn't inform anyone Loki had a wife back home and that she would love to have him back with her.
"I did mean to upset your sister. I know by the way you speak to her you love her very much. But has she disowned your brother?" asked Jane
"She is not angry with you. she is very pissed off at me, Loki is not her brother he is her husband." Said Thor
"SHE IS YOUR SISTER-IN-LAW! OH MY GOD HOW EMBASSASSING!" cried Jane
"Little human I can hear you perfectly fine. I am a demoness and I have extremely sensitive ears, but I have no clue on if this will hurt or harm you in any way. So be prepared." Said Kagome
Kagome snapped their mouths closed and continued to follow her to the balcony. As they continued to follow her. while jane wondered why she dressed like Loki and not in the lovely dresses. But then again, she has her every right about what she wanted to wear and not to wear. As kagome waved over jane to the stone bench and placed her hand against her forehead. And after gathering so much of her courage. Jane and hope in her eyes. Kagome felt some form of respect for the human before her. It's rare to come by them here and there. And she closed her eyes and began channeling her powers into the human skin and soul and body. The darkness or the Aether or whatever the fuck it is that Thor called it. writher around inside of the human. Taking her life and her soul. Using her body to shield it. she has seen this before many of times. As kagome was trying her best to save this human. But sadly it was not to be, as kagome let go and came back to herself.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't remove it without doing considerable damage to her. but I did place a barrier around it. it halted the spread as much as I could do. and doubt she would not be to bypass the chance to go to the soul society when she passed on." said Kagome
"That is much better than we had at the start. Thank you kagome my beloved sister." said Thor
"I think we got off on the wrong foot. I'm kagome its very kind to meet you. Welcome to Asgard. I hope you enjoy your stay, maybe I shall see you around again." Said Kagome
Kagome saw the brief wave and she turned and flashed out of there. She thought they should be alone. And not wishing to be around them now. kagome sighed and her heart was twisted again. Spotting sif leaning against a pillar some ways away. Watching with a wistfulness that seemed at odds with her normal firefly strength and who she is. kagome regretted neglecting their friendship these two or so years. But they had centuries before. So, she decided to make up for the lost time she avoided her friend from. Her friend seemed to be needing her. her own pain in her heart could wait. So, she could help someone she really cared about. So, this was time for her to do something for someone that she thinks of as a friend. And not that human she has no clue about. Even though Thor cared for her. but this was cruel to sif. But it would seem that she thinks sif needed to be alone.
Meanwhile later that night
Inu no taisho came to his pup summons to make sure she was able to see his son in law pup, well after she went off on Odin of course. And he did tell him that vegeta would hear of what he had done to his daughter. And the son in law. The fact that he was kept away from his soulmate. It was criminal. As she took his pup through the gates and as they entered the prison area. Pluto used something that the genyu force made to knock out the guards and alter their memories. As she hugged her father and tried to get Loki attention. His green eyes snapped open and slanted her way. widening when he caught sight of her. He jumped up from the bed he had been lying on and hurried over kneeling getting close as possible.
"Kagome" whispered loki
Kagome had tears running down her face. as relief rushing through her. She needed to see him. She took note he had his hair longer and looked like he needed to be freed from here. She looked at inu no taisho but he shook her head. He was unable to do so for the time being. But she sighed and knew that her father would do it for her if she was able to do so. And now they must do things to fix the time that Thor and Odin messed up. plus, Odin knew better to not mess with her now since she is vegeta daughter and he would fuck up Odin for even daring to order her around. Even her uncle lord beerus would do the same thing. But for now, she was going to enjoy seeing her beloved once again. Even though she hates not being able to touch him.
"Oh, my Loki I'm so glad you are alive. Look at you. Your hair is longer. For the love of the moon, I missed you." Cried Kagome
"shh my darling, my love. don't cry for me. I don't deserve your tears." Said Loki
Loki wished he would be able to take her into his arms. He wanted to comfort her so much. But he knew he was unable to do so right now. He was lucky he was able to see her. He knew his mother was lying that she didn't want to come and see him. his wife would do just about anything to come to see him. but how in the world did she get here. And how did she get past the guards. Even though he knew his beloved wife was rather resourceful. And he was proud of her calling rank to his father. He knew Odin fears her father and her uncle. but for now, he was going to enjoy being here with her. This was something that he wished to have.
"Oh, stop it your big dummy! You don't know what I saw! I didn't just see you fall from the Bifrost. I miscarried our twins. I'm sorry. I watched you fall apart for days beforehand. You were sick. I was so worried about you. I've been so worried. I wanted to come sooner. But Odin guards ordered to keep me out. He has so many of them stations in every direction I could take to come here." Said Kagome
"How did you manage. I'm sorry you lost our child. it pains me not being there for you." Said Loki
Kagome smiled and she pointed to where her father was. Loki followed her gesture to find the great demon lord peeking in. He gave a wave and a bow to him since he was his son-in-law and didn't hold anything against him. but he was in shock how in the world did they do something like this. and right now, from what he understands everything was all messed up since Thor and Odin pulled their bullshit. But she gave him a grateful smile to let him know she was happy to see him alive and well. Loki sighed in relief for loyal warriors to his wife. And himself as well. but the great demon lord only can do so much for them right now. since they are working on trying to figure out how to get time back to the way it was because of what Thor and Odin did.
"Thank you father." Said loki
"of course, I would do anything for my pups. but I only can do so much for now." said inu no taisho
"Did they tell you why I been imprisoned?" asked Loki
Kagome sighed and nodded at what they told her. Well, what Thor told her. and inu no taisho had told her. Loki sighed and understood she still loved him even after all he had done. Even though she wondered why he had done it. but she still came to him. but then again there was something about her that would never leave his side. But right now, she can't be with him by his side. Since he was stuck in here. But inu no taisho stiffened and knew that it was wrong. But he saw that they must go. Kagome promised to come back to see him when they were able to come back to him. as they said their goodbyes. Loki put his hands over his eyes and let the tears fall. He needed his wife by him. He can't do this without here. But he was happy she still loved him. and had faith in him as always, she did.
