Chapter 18
"During that day when I was revealed to have the Founding Titan's power, the government really wanted to get it back into their hands. That's why all of us, Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Connie, Sasha, and Historia, we've become the new Levi Squad." Eren says.
"I see... maybe you guys have done more than we ever could." Petra says with a slight frown.
"And during our hiding, we're also training with my Titan Hardening." Eren says. "Since we've discussed that the Titan Harden is capable of fixing the broken wall."
"That might be true. If the walls are hade of Titan Hardening." Frieda says.
"While we're training, we learned Historia's past." Eren says while turning to Frieda, "It's true that Historia's mother never cared about her, right?"
Frieda nods and says, "Historia's mother was just a maid in our residence. My father had an affair, I heard that they just left Historia alone at the farm, which was why I decided to visit her all the time."
"It was after Wall Maria's breech, Historia's father come to meet her. He had the Interior Police kill Historia's mother, and he wanted Historia to change into Christa Lenz and joined the Cadet Corps." Eren says. "I can say that the mother deserved it, Historia said that her last words are these: If only I've never had you."

"Though I still can't believe you want us to use body doubles again." Eren mutters.
"Really? Jean disguised as you again?" Marco asks.
"And Armin's the one disguised as Historia." Sasha says. "Both of them were captured by the local merchants who were forced by the First Interior Police, and it was then that Captain Levi told us this... we're not only fighting Titans, but we're fighting humans as well."
"Wait, so you're killing the Interior Police?" Frieda asks.
"It was necessary, besides, from what I've heard, 3 of the Hange Squad members were killed by the First Interior Police. Including Nifa." Eren says.
"I see..." Petra frowns.
"I heard that Captain Levi was fighting Kenny at that time, but I don't actually know what was going on since I was shot by a tranquilizer." Eren says.
"I'll tell you that." Sasha says, "Captain Levi managed to kill more Interior Police members in front of us, and we found the wagon that was snatched by the Interior Police. Armin... he killed the Interior Police member who was trying to shoot Jean...but we still let the wagon get away with the Interior Police..."
"So even Armin stained his hands with blood..." Marco frowns. "It must be hard for him, right?"
"Nobody was willing to stain their hands with blood." Sasha says. "But we have to do it."
"And this is also the time when we've decided to overthrow the government. Because all of our scout activities are forced to stop. And the Interior Police decided to kill the boss of Reeves Company and then frame Commander Erwin and Captain Levi for it." Sasha says.

"They can't do that!" Sasha gasps.
"It was up to the Military Police Commander, Nile, to decide, and he refuses to close the gates, that's why the coup d'etat was a success." Erwin says. "And it turns out that the king on the throne is not the real king but a fake one."
Eren says, "The real King is Rod Reiss. Frieda, you know about this, right?"
Frieda nods, "Yeah. Father was the real king, but I didn't know about him setting up a fake king."
Eren says, "Maybe I should talk about my part of the story. When I was captured, Historia and I were taken to Rod Reiss. Your father was apologizing to Historia about the actions he did to her, and he wanted Historia to come to the Reiss Chapel."
"But why?" Fay asks.
"He wanted to do the ritual, by letting Historia eat me..." Eren says.
Frieda widens her eyes and says, "But that means she's going to share the same fate as me! What was Dad thinking? Historia didn't agree to do this, right?"
"Sadly, Historia wanted to do this." Eren frowns, causing Frieda to gasp, "Since I have your memories, and Rod Reiss told her that if she ate me, she'll be able to see you again. It was actually because of the memory thing."
Sasha says, "Yeah, I think we've recently started to get memories that weren't ours. I even got the memory of Zeke..."
"Me too. I got Bertolt's memories." Marco adds.
"But there is a question. If Rod Reiss wanted the power of the Founding Titan, why was he want Historia to become the Titan instead of being a Titan himself?" Erwin asks.
"That was a good question..." Eren says, "When Historia was about to inject herself, Kenny came back because a lot of their Interior Squad was killed by Levi's squad."
"Yeah, we did kill a lot of their people, but Hange was injured during that attack..." Sasha says.
"When Kenny heard that it was only the Reiss family that could use the Founding Titan, he was angry and tried to kill Rod, but Historia stopped him and Kenny revealed everything. Rod didn't want to become a Titan because he was scared to be one. So that's why he decided to use Historia."
"What kind of reason is that?" Frieda snarls, "Even if he's my father, that doesn't mean he could do that to Historia..."
"And Kenny... he decided to free me and said that if Historia wanted to get my power, she should fight me for it." Eren says. "However, I wasn't going to transform back then."
"But why? Do you want Queen Historia to eat you?" Marco asks.
"When I was injected to become the Attack Titan, I lost some of my memories until at the chapel, after hearing what my Dad had done, I thought it was all my fault that a lot of people died, that's why I thought maybe Historia would have a better use of the Founding Titan."
"Yeah, I still remember how you've become a crybaby at that time." Sasha says. "It was really annoying."
"It was then Historia asked her father about why didn't you or those who had the Founding Titan before trying to eliminate the Titans, and it was related to Karl Fritz's wanting to let Eldians in the walls die. Historia realized this and she refused to become the Titan and wanted to free me. I still remembered the words she said to me. I'm the worst girl of humanity."
"It was weird coming out from her mouth." Marco says.
"But we're not done yet..." Eren says, "Seeing that Historia refused to become the Titan, Rod decided to become the Titan himself."
Frieda widens her eyes and says, "My Dad? Become a Titan?"
"However, just after he transformed into a Titan, it destroyed the whole chapel, all of the Interior Police were killed except for Kenny, but he didn't live long after that..."
"And since he's Abnormal, he just tried to get to Orvud District and ignored us." Sasha says. "We were about to get killed if it wasn't for Eren finally mastering the Hardening."
"And never thought we'd seen such a big Titan before. Rod's Titan was twice the size of the Colossal Titan." Erwin says.
"That big? How are you going to kill that thing?" Petra widens her eyes in horror. "I don't think we have ever faced such a titan before."
"We didn't let the people in Orvud District leave, but thanks to Eren becoming a Titan, he threw a punch of gunpowder inside of the Titan's mouth and let it explode. And Historia was the one who dealt the final blow by killing the real body inside the Titan pieces."
"So that means Historia's the one who killed Father..." Frieda says.
"Her actions were watched by the crowd, which is why the people of Paradis agree for her to become the queen." Erwin says.
"Though I still remember what Mikasa wanted Historia to do after she became the queen." Eren says. "She wanted Historia to punch Captain Levi."
Petra says, "She didn't do it, did she?"
Sasha says, "Trust me, we've never been so scared before. But after she punched him, Captain Levi was just smiling and saying that he needed that."
"Really?" Petra asks, "That was weird coming from Captain Levi..."
"But ever since Historia becomes the Queen, she had setting up an orphanage for the kids from underground and those who're in need." Eren says. "Things are doing better in Historia's care compared to the last King. And it was because of her that we could create more weapons to fight against Titans."
"More like Hange was using your Hardening ability to create those weapons." Erwin says.
"Yeah... that." Eren says. "Other than that, Historia also asked us to take care of her farm. Mikasa was about to fight her just because she wanted me to rest."
"I'm glad she didn't." Sasha says. "But because of our actions, more and more people were transferred from the other regiments to the Scouts. And they are actually hopeful for retaking Wall Maria."

Commandant Shadis was depressed about it, and all the expeditions he led failed, and he eventually decided to step down as the Commander because he thought he was not the special one."
"What kind of reason was that?" Petra asks with slight anger.
"We know, Hange was trying to stay calm after hearing this, but he told me what my mother said to him. In my Mom's opinion, I don't have to be better than anyone in order to be special. I'm special simply for being born into the world." Eren says.
"So that was why he decided to give you the broken belt during the training?" Marco asks.
"Yeah." Eren says.
