Chapter 19

Another day has come, and everyone just finishes eating the food. "Who knows you can cook pretty well? Eren?" Sasha says. "Today's meat is really delicious."

"I'm glad that you like it..." Eren says. "Speaking of meat...the Survey Corps never had meat as our meals until the day we tried to take back Wall Maria."

"It is thanks to Queen Historia, she gave us more food budget." Erwin says. "However, I heard from Levi that you've done some interesting things that day."

Eren groans and says, "It was nothing, just another fight with Jean. But this time it was Captain Levi who stopped the fight."

Marco says, "Some things really never changed."

Sasha says, "And you tied me up that day as well...I'm still mad at that."

"You're going to take away all the meat and you even bit Jean's hand, of course, we have to stop you." Eren says. "But then again, Captain Levi wasn't with us before he enters and stops the fight."

"Yes, he was at my office." Erwin says. "He wanted to persuade me to stay behind while you guys leave for Wall Maria."

"I see... considering you lost an arm and you've got tortured by the Military Police... it was no wonder." Eren frowns.

"But I couldn't forget that day. It was the first day that the whole crowd is cheering for us." Sasha says.

"Now I'm really jealous..." Petra says. "We've never had such a sendoff before..."

"The battle to retake Wall Maria is tough. Since we know that Reiner and Bertolt would be there, including my brother." Eren says. "When we get to the district, we were surprised to find that there are no Titans around the area."

"So they were hiding?" Colt asks.

"Yes. Armin's the one who found out that Reiner was hiding inside the wall. But like Mikasa, Captain Levi didn't manage to kill Reiner in an instant, and he transformed. At the signal, Zeke an Pieck also arrived with the pure Titans." Eren says.

"Most of us and the Hange Squad were fighting against Reiner, since we have a new weapon: The Thunder Spear." Sasha says.

Eren takes out the weapon and says, "I manage to find some back at my old house, and this is the Thunder Spear."

"It looks so cool..." Fay says.

"But it is quite dangerous." Erwin says. "It is our weapon to break the Armored Titan's armor."

"Just before we could finish Reiner off, Zeke just throws Bertolt inside the wall, he didn't transform yet, and Armin still wanted to talk things out." Eren says. "But Bertolt refuses to talk and he just claims that all of us should die, and that's why... he killed all of the Hange Squad except for Hange."

"How cruel..." Marco frowns.

"And the other squads, all of them are killed by the Beast Titan continuously throwing rocks at us...until all that's left is the new recruits, Levi, and me." Erwin says.

"Back then, I was no match for Bertolt, even as a Titan, just a kick from him caused me to fly on top of Wall Maria..." Eren shakes his head.

"That's why the Colossal Titan is the most powerful compared to the other 7." Colt says.

"And now that I've thought about it... I heard from Floch that you lead the rest of the recruits for the Suicide Charge. How did you manage to persuade them?" Eren asks.

"No matter what the situation was, we were cornered. By analyzing the situation, none of us would be able to make this out alive." Erwin says. "When I told them the plan, I could still see their panicked faces. However, if I become the first one to die, then they will be willing to give up their lives for the battle."

Everyone is silent after hearing what Erwin said, and Marco says, "Being a leader sure is really tough... but at least the sacrifice should've done anything, right?"

"Captain Levi was able to reach the Beast Titan and manage to deal a lot of damage to him, but the Cart Titan managed to get him away and they were running towards Wall Maria." Eren says.

"As for Reiner and Bertolt, to defeat Reiner, we've had to use our remaining three Thunder Spears, Connie and I had to hit the jaws to force his mouth open so Mikasa can fire the last one inside to blast him out of the titan. However, I messed up again...if it wasn't for Commander Hange who appeared with another Thunder Spear, our plan wouldn't have worked." Sasha says.

"As for Bertolt, Armin volunteers to be the bait as he takes the attack from the steam emitting from him, all to have me make a copy using Titan Hardening, and then I used the ODM gear and the blades to slash him out of his nape. We've also done it, but Armin... his scorched body was beyond recognizable..." Eren frowns.

"That really was reckless..." Petra says with a frown. "I'm glad that we have the Armored and the Colossal right now..."

"We could only bet that the Titan serum in Captain Levi's hands could save Armin. And that was when Zeke and Pieck showed up in front of us. He believed that I was brainwashed by my father and he wanted to save me, but our conversation was interrupted when Captain Levi came back. Zeke and Pieck decided to abandon Bertolt, but they still managed to get Reiner back." Eren says.

"So that's how it happened..." Colt says. "I remember that after they returned to Marley, we had the Mid-East War..."

"Yeah." Eren says. "We asked Captain Levi to use the serum for Armin, but it was also then when Floch managed to bring Commander Erwin's body. We had only one Titan serum, but there are two bodies that we need to save."

This causes everyone to widen their eyes in shock, and Petra asks, "But if anything, Captain Levi would definitely choose Commander Erwin, why would he choose Armin instead?"

"About this, I want to apologize to you, Commander Erwin. Mikasa and I fought with Captain Levi, which was why..." Eren says.

"But you didn't snatch the Titan serum away from him, Captain Levi did try to use the serum on Commander Erwin." Sasha says. "I remember that he was about to inject into you before he suddenly stood up and then walked towards Armin."

Erwin says, "If he thinks that Armin is the best choice, then I wouldn't mind. I had actually planned on having him become the next Survey Corps leader if I didn't choose Hange..."

"But..." Petra says. "Your gambles are what makes the Survey Corps stronger than ever..."

"It happened in the past, besides, we're still alive right now." Erwin says. "But attacking a superior was a crime, both you and Mikasa should've known that."

"We know, we got imprisoned for some time after that. During that battle, only 9 of us survived." Eren frowns. "And we did get to the basement... it was then that the history wiped out from the first Paradis King Karl Fritz was shown to everyone. And it was also when I got there, I got my father's memories, including you, Fay."

Fay nods and Eren continues, "My father was actually a part of the Eldian Restorationists. In fact, he was the leader."

Colt widens his eyes in shock, he remembers that his uncle was also a part of the restorationists. "I remembered my Uncle was a part of the Restorationists, but he was sent here to Pardis after they were found out."

"Zeke was the one who gave away the location to the Marley Military." Eren says. "And it was also then my Dad met the previous Attack Titan. He gave my Dad the power and asked him to do his mission to take the Founding Titan."

"I see... if that's why he wanted to take the Founder, then I'm glad it wasn't because of bad intentions." Frieda says.

"And it was during the Awards Ceremony when I touched Historia's hand, I saw everything." Eren says. "What I'm about to do and how I would do the Rumbling..."

"So that's why you've changed during that day..." Sasha says with a slight frown.

"Did you talk about this to others?" Erwin asks.

"I talked to Historia, Floch, and some others, but I didn't talk to Mikasa and Armin, as well as Commander Hange or Captain Levi." Eren says. "But enough about me. After 9 months, we managed to make it... all of the Titans on Paradis Island were gone, and we got to see the ocean as Armin wanted to."

"I still remember that day, I've never seen such a giant body of water before..." Sasha says, "Everyone was having fun... except for you."

"Yeah. Because I knew that on the other side of the sea... were enemies wanting to attack Paradis." Eren says. "After a short amount of time, Marley sent the first survey fleet to Paradis Island. Not all of them are our enemies, like Nicolo."

"Nicolo!" Sasha frowns. "I really missed the food made by him...especially the seafood..."

"Well..." Eren sighs. "Anyway, on the first survey fleet, we managed to capture some members, and there are some who claimed that their homeland was taken by Marley and they wanted revenge by helping us. We called them the Anti-Marley Volunteers. And they worked with Zeke, the Beast Titan."

"So you're working together with Zeke since then?" Colt asks, "But why would you agree to work with him after what he did to you?"

Eren says, "That's because we were still clueless to the outside world, we didn't know how many armies Marley had until they were the ones who told us. And they also helped us with technologies so that we wouldn't have stayed behind when we were attacked."

Sasha says, "But all we knew is that Zeke had a secret plan and he never told us what it is."

"I would reveal it, but that's not today." Eren says. "By using Squad Leader Mike's ODM gear, Zeke managed to persuade another nation to help us. That is... Hizuru."

"Wait, you've got help from Hizuru as well?" Colt asks.

"They are here because Mikasa was the lost descendant of the Azumabito clan, and they were interested in the Iceburst stones that fueled the ODM gears." Sasha says.

"They want three things from us. The first one is to see the Rumbling. The second one is our natural resources, and the third one was the continued possession of the Founding Titan. I couldn't agree with the final plan, because that means they want Historia to become the next Beast Titan and continue to bear as many children as possible." Eren says.

"That's not fine for me! I'm not going to let my sister become a breeding stock." Frieda says. "You're right not to let them go with the third plan."

"Just because I disagree doesn't mean that the whole Military disagrees." Eren frowns. "The Military Police was ready to have Historia devour Zeke when he step foot on this island."

Petra says, "Sounds like things really have turned dark this instant..."

"There's so much more, let's talk about it tomorrow." Eren says as they all clean their plates and then head back to their own rooms to rest.
