Kyandi: We're back everyone!
Elektra: This chapter here will conclude what we already have pre-written.
Kyandi: From here on out, the chapters will take a little more time because I have to actually plan and write.
Elektra: Just so all of you know.
Kyandi: Yep. So don't worry if it takes me a handful of days or a week.
Elektra: We will be back.
Kyandi: Yes, we will. With that said, everyone, enjoy and review.
Elektra: Kyandi-sama does not own Fire Force.
Chapter 9 Vulcan, The Blacksmith
She totally forgot.
When Elektra had finally returned to Company 8, she was greeted with a new member of the team, Victor Licht. The man, from what Hibana told her, was a scientist from Haijima, assigned to Company 8 to help with their research and science department.
All Elektra knew was he was instantly in her face, treating her like a shiny new toy in the middle of a daycare.
"So, you're the one that can sense infernals! I must run some tests! Perhaps get some blood work. If we can better understand why do didn't go fully infernal, perhaps we can stop others from doing the same! I must run some tests and see what makes you so different."
Elektra blinked in surprise as he chattered on, already circling her to examine her as much as he could with his eyes alone. "I suppose that would be alright."
The next thing Elektra knew, she was dragged away and hooked up to machines that Victor had brought along with him. Victor ran all kinds of test on her, drawing several vials of her blood, checking her reflexes, eyes, ears, and even peering down her throat. He then moved on to testing her flames. He went through the test with her electricity first, then her Mock Infernal, writing several things down as he excitedly jumped from one test to the next.
Elektra didn't really mind as long as the tests didn't involve a blade of any type or anything dangerous to her. In the end, Victor strapped her to monitors and exposed her to infernal ashes to see how she would react. Elektra patiently sat through it all. Obi, Hinawa and Hibana sat nearby, keeping a close eye on Victor, and making sure he didn't do anything dangerous or odd to Elektra.
"This is so intriguing!" Victor finally declared, releasing her while he went through the data.
"What is it?" Obi asked.
"Her biological make-up is completely different! It's a perfect blend of infernal and human! Her very core is hyper alert to the thermal changes in the air around her. When an infernal nearby ignites, it pulls in heat from its surroundings, and she can feel that subtle changes. I would have to run test on her in the field, but I'm willing to bet she could do so from kilometers away."
All eyes turned to Elektra as she plucked a monitor tab off her skin. Hinawa stared at her before turning back to Victor. "How is that possible?"
"Taking a look at her vitals gives us the answer. She has a naturally low core body temperature. The average human's core body temperature is around ninety-five degrees with ninety-three verging on hyperthermia. Hers almost consistently stays around ninety. It explains why she ends up with a fever after being exposed to too many infernals for too long. Her body is already cold and it's trying to compensate for the loss of heat around it." Victor explained.
"So…I'm a freak. What else is new." Elektra remarked with a laugh that didn't quite sound like it was genuine.
"A freak? You're the first of your kind! No one else has ever been recorded to have developed this link to infernals!" Victor told her.
"I don't see how it's all that great." Elektra heaved a sigh as she peeled the rest of the monitor tabs off.
"If we can find a way to breed more fire soldiers with your make-up, it would be easier to locate and put infernals to rest! And then to add in your change of form…! We could bring forth a whole new generation of fire soldiers!" Victor exclaimed.
Elektra frowned as Victor continued to rant, staring at the data on his screen in fascination. "Do as you wish with the information, but, hopefully, we can solve SHC without the need of tormenting more children with my condition."
With that, Elektra hopped off her perch and walked away, sour look on her face. Obi and Hinawa shared a look. Elektra had never acted that way before, her smile gone and her tone unhappy. Obi left Hibana to scold Victor and followed Elektra into the hall. "Elektra?"
"I'm sorry if I was short, sir." Elektra crossed her arms. "He talks as if the process that made me what I am was an easy one. It wasn't. It was painful, scary. All that heat and fire, all that pain, and then…nothing. Just coldness." Elektra wrapped her arms around herself, rubbing at her arms to try to generate some heat. "I've been cold since. It was horrible…I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Not even my worst enemy."
"I understand. We just need to solve this before Haijima can do anything with the information." Obi laid a hand on Elektra's shoulder and gave her a smile. "Until then, I have a mission for you."
"A mission, sir?"
"Yes. There's an engineer I want to recruit. Since you, Shinra, Arthur and Sister Iris are close to his age, I'm going to send the four of you. Make sure to go in your civies. He doesn't particularly like the Fire Force, but don't hide who you are either. I don't want him to feel deceived." Obi told her.
"Sir, yes, sir! I'll do my best to keep Shinra and Arthur in line, too." Because she was well aware that was the reason he was sending her along even though she was still injured.
"Good! You just leave this whole genetic make-up thing to me for now."
Elektra nodded. She knew if she could trust anyone to keep their word, it was Obi. For the meantime, she would focus on the task assigned to her and worry about everything else later.
"So, this is where we'll find Vulcan?"
Elektra, dressed simply in black capri pants, boots, and a black jean jacket over a handkerchief top that matched her eyes in color, stood in the middle of a junk yard with her three friends. Before them rose the building made up of different animals, the front adorned with a horned skull.
"Well…at least he has a style all of his own." Elektra remarked. "And, apparently, a fascination with animals."
Shinra shot her a look because that was putting it mildly.
"Oh, I've seen that animal with the long nose in an encyclopedia." Iris remarked.
"Yeah. What was it again?" Shinra asked.
"An elephant, I believe." Elektra supplied.
"This place is really something." Arthur idly looked around at the piles of metal parts and junk that stood all around them.
Shinra stepped forward then, calling out to see if anyone was home, but there was no answer from the building.
"Maybe he's not here?" Iris suggested.
"Or he's pretending not to be." Shinra replied.
They got their answer when Arthur stepped forward, declaring loudly, "I'm Fire Solider Second Class, Arthur Boyle! The Knight King!"
All four of them jumped back when the skull over the front door started spewing fire. Elektra shielded Iris unconsciously from the flames. "That seemed a bit excessive."
It became even more so when the door opened just enough for a soda can to be thrown out. Elektra let out a low whistle when it nailed Shinra right in the head. Just as Arthur mocked him, a second can bounced off his chin. As a hand appeared with a third can, Iris ducked behind Elektra with a whimper, but Elektra didn't move, more than ready to counter the can. Instead of throwing it at the two females, though, the hand disappeared inside, and the door snapped shut.
"Hey! Jerkface! Quit messing around and show yourself!" Shinra demanded.
"Projectile weapons don't work on knights!" Arthur added.
"And yet, the bruise forming on your chin says elsewise." Elektra pointed out as Shinra, and Arthur turned on each other.
"Um…can I help you?"
All four of them turned, finding a young boy standing there with a big bag strapped to his back. He lit up upon seeing Shinra and Elektra, just a moment before Elektra let out a soft "oh!" of recognition.
"Who are you again?" Shinra asked the boy.
"Shinra, he's that kid from the case where a homicide suspect went infernal. You know, the one those Company 5 grunts pushed around." Elektra reminded him.
"Oh!" Shinra's face lit up with recognition of his own. "You're the kid that was there when we were fighting with Company 5!"
The boy nodded as he dropped his bag to the ground with a heavy thud. "If you fire soldiers are hanging around a place like this, you must be here to scout my master." The boy moved past them to the door. "Master! I got the parts you asked me to find."
Shinra and Arthur went on guard, Iris ducking behind Elektra again when the door opened. Instead of flying cans, though, a young man wearing a skull mask much like the skull over the door, walked out.
"Yu! I thought I told you not to call me master. It's either Vulcan or Turdface." He told the boy.
"Okay…Vulcan…all the parts are in my pack." Yu replied.
The masked man, Vulcan, picked up the pack and turned to walk away without so much as a sign that he realized Elektra and her friends were there. Shinra and Arthur didn't let him get too far, though. "Hold it, Turdface!"
Elektra heaved a sigh when an arm appeared out the door to throw more unopened cans of soda at the two boys. Vulcan removed his mask, turning to look at them with fierce eyes. "I don't help fire soldiers! Go away!"
With that, he slammed the door behind him.
"That hatred of fire soldiers is very deeply rooted, isn't it?" Iris asked.
"You can say that again. That glare could have peeled paint. You'd think we'd just killed his mother or something with the way he looked at us." Elektra agreed.
Shinra huffed, turning away. "If he's gonna fight us before we can get a word out, then this is pointless! Let's go home!"
"No, wait! Please!" Yu stepped forward to stop Shinra. "If it's okay, I could hear you out! I do owe you for saving me!"
"You don't owe me anything! I only did what any hero would do!" Shinra replied.
"What Shinra means is that it was our pleasure and we'd be glad to tell you." Elektra said with a smile, forcing Shinra to turn back around.
They moved away from the building to talk, the sounds of Vulcan working still reaching them even beyond the piles of the junkyard. To Elektra, it sounded like someone playing the drums.
"His work sounds so rhythmical." Shinra remarked, looking out over the junkyard around the building. "This place is amazing…did Vulcan make all the stuff around here?"
"Most of it…but some of it was made by his father and grandfather." Yu answered.
"Yu, was it?" When Yu nodded, Shinra continued. "You gave him a big bag of stuff earlier. Is he forcing you to run errands for him?"
"Forcing me? Don't be silly. I'm like a self-proclaimed apprentice. I've always liked tinkering with machines, and then I fell in love with Vulcan's work, so I got him to let me help him out. But I am kind of working as a lackey lately." Yu replied.
"Lately?" Elektra repeated. "You mean it was different before?"
"Well…Vulcan has real talent. Safety, precision, speed, creativity…he has everything a technician could ask for…although his taste for skulls is a bit of a problem. He gets visits from all kinds of organizations. Like Haijima and the Fire Force. But he throws all the scouts out on their ears." Yu told them.
"At least he's consistent." Elektra sighed.
"Haijima wasn't too happy about it, so they pulled some strings, and now Vulcan can't get materials from any of the merchants. Which is why now I go around to all the junk shops, buying stuff for him." Yu added.
"No wonder he hates Haijima." Arthur remarked, Elektra agreeing.
"Yeah, I would too. Though, to be honest…I kind of already dislike them." Elektra said.
A sad look overtook Yu's expression. "No…I think there's some other reason Vulcan hates Haijima and the Fire Force."
"I get that, I do, but…not all companies are the same." Elektra pointed out. "Some of us don't even have the same goals."
Shinra agreed. "Company 8 isn't like the rest of the Fire Force! I personally guarantee it! Could you get him to at least hear us out?"
"Nngh…Vulcan can be pretty stubborn. I can ask him for something a million times and he'll never say yes. So, in that case…" Yu started back towards the workshop, gesturing for them to follow. When they reached the front door, Yu let them in. "Alright, everyone. Come on in."
"Are you sure we can just come in here?" Shinra asked suspiciously. "It's his workshop."
"I owe you my life, Shinra-san. You and Elektra-san. The least I can do is endure a little shouting from Vulcan." Yu replied.
It was then that Shinra caught sight of an arm pulled back to throw a soda can and flinched. It was only upon closer inspection that he saw it was nothing more than a robotic arm attached to a pitching machine. Shinra sputtered. "Wait…it was a machine? This guy makes the weirdest things."
"Uh, Shinra…" Elektra sighed as a can nailed Shinra from the side. When he turned, he found a teenaged girl holding another can to throw. Shinra, believing she was a machine Vulcan had made, got close and poked one of her breasts.
"Whoa! Is this a machine, too?! Hot damn, he can make stuff like this? That lucky on of a – "
"I'm human!"
Elektra didn't blame the girl when she slammed the soda can down on the top of Shinra's head. He truly had it coming. "You were asking for that one, Shinra."
"This is Lisa-san. She lives with Vulcan." Yu told them, introducing the girl as she lightly tapped his head with a soda can.
"Hey, Yu! You didn't tell me we had guests!" Lisa complained.
"He saved my life." Yu told her.
"Special Fire Force Company 8, Fire Soldier Second Class, Shinra Kusakabe!" Shinra saluted her.
"I'm Second Class Fire Soldier, Elektra Casteel, same company. I'm also a commander of the Slade Task Force from the Special District, Nyuhebun." Elektra added with a bow.
"Special Fire Force Company 8…" Lisa suddenly grabbed Yu's arm, twisting it. "You know better than to let fire soldiers in here!"
"But they saved my life!" Yu protested.
The sound of hammering and drumming drew their attention across the room to where Vulcan was working on something, drumming away with his tools as he worked.
"Look at how fast he puts that stuff together." Arthur remarked.
"Can he really make anything like that? It looks like he's beating a drum." Shinra added.
With a few more bangs, Vulcan suddenly stood and kicked the device, whatever it was, across the room. Elektra stepped to the side to avoid being hit with it. He then pulled off his mask and declared, "Yes! It's finished!"
"Why would you kick something you made yourself? You're gonna break it." Shinra remarked.
"A machine that breaks from a little kick is pretty much a defect." Vulcan told him before realizing who he was talking to. "And what makes you think you can be here anyway?!"
"Now, now…" Shinra held up his hands, trying to calm Vulcan.
"Hey! Yu! What are you doing?! We have guests! Get the tea!" Vulcan yelled, Yu rushing to hand him some cans of tea.
"Uh, thanks. – " Elektra shook her head as Shinra misread the gesture and ended up having to jump back as Vulcan threw the can at him. Shinra kept backing away. "You could at least listen to what we have to say!"
"I've heard all your Fire Force crap! Nothing you say is gonna change my mind now!" Vulcan declared, throwing another can.
Arthur picked up a pipe, stepping forward to whack the can like a baseball. All it did was cause the can to explode in his face. Elektra let out a humming laugh. "I could have told him that would happen."
"So, the fire soldiers's been put out, huh?!" Vulcan laughed.
Elektra looked up as an alarm interrupted the little feud. Lisa checked out the peep hole before turning to Vulcan. "Vulc…it's him again." Vulcan grabbed a shirt, pulling it over his head before heading to the door. "Can you handle it all by yourself?"
"I'll be fine." Vulcan assured her.
When the door closed behind him, Elektra and Shinra moved to peek outside. "What? It's who again?" Shinra cut off when he saw who stood outside.
"Dr. Giovanni, Captain of Company 3." Elektra remarked, dislike in her tone. "He works for Haijima."
Arthur peered out with them. "That guy with the eye-catching hat is captain of Company 3?"
"Most people would notice the mask first…" Shinra pointed out.
"Most people aren't Arthur." Elektra retorted, eyes fixed on Vulcan and Giovanni.
"So, what is he doing? I thought Vulcan didn't talk to fire soldiers." Arthur remarked.
"And like Elektra said, Company 3 works directly for Haijima. They're gonna get Vulcan before us?" Shinra growled.
"But…Vulcan will never accomplish his dream if he joins Company 3 for Haijima!" Yu protested.
"Come on, let's get closer." Elektra urged.
She slipped out the door, Arthur and Shinra following and Iris bringing up the rear. They found a hiding spot but weren't able to hear the conversation. Whatever was said, Vulcan wasn't happy. Whatever Giovanni had come for, he walked away without it, leaving an annoyed Vulcan behind.
Elektra and her friends returned to the workshop before Vulcan could catch them trying to listen in. When Vulcan returned to the building, he slammed the door behind him. "You turd soldiers are still here?"
"Was that a good idea? Haijima's really gonna put the screws on now!" Shinra told him.
"That's not your problem." Vulcan responded.
"It is our problem." Shinra stressed. "Company 8 was formed to investigate the Fire Force from the inside."
"In other words," Vulcan turned to look at Elektra as she leaned against a table. "We're not the same as the other companies. We are only trying to help others."
"And that includes you." Shinra added.
Vulcan was silent for a moment, but the seriousness of the moment was ruined as Arthur got his hands on a peeing, mechanical squirrel. Then Iris, drawn in by the bright and colorful buttons around the workshop, started pushing them. Elektra just shrugged her shoulders as Vulcan snatched a little ball-shaped device from Iris. Then he just started laughing.
"Pfft! What's wrong with you guys? You're crazy. Are you really fire soldiers?" Again, Elektra just shrugged her shoulders to his question. "Okay. Fine. You wanna know about my machines that bad, huh? Just remember, nothing you do will convince me to join the Fire Force. But you guys can't go home empty-handed, right? I'm gonna show you something that'll make your trip worth your while, so, after that, leave me alone, okay?"
Shinra, curious, raised an eyebrow. "Worth our while?"
Vulcan moved them outside in an open space, placing the ball he held on to the ground. "That should do it."
"What in blazes is that thing? Another one of your creations?" Arthur asked.
"I made it with my dad and grandpa when I was a kid." Vulcan said fondly before standing. "Anyway, just watch."
Vulcan stood up after activating the device. In the next second, smoke filled the air around them, Elektra turning to scan the mist. Shinra jerked around too, speaking. "What's that smoke? Is it steam?"
"It's true I hate Haijima and their fire soldier friends…but that doesn't mean I'll settle for making any ordinary machines." Vulcan told them.
Elektra's face lit up in wonder as lights flashed from the machine and, suddenly, the air around them was filled with images of animals that had long since vanished from their world. Different colors, shapes and sizes played before her eyes, making Elektra's smile grow by the second. It was stunning.
"Did you know? Once upon a time, there were more than one million, seven hundred fifty thousand different species on this planet." Vulcan explained.
As they watched, the images shifted, birds taking flight around them in an array of colors from black and white to blues, reds, greens, and yellows.
"What are…?" Shinra asked, dazed by the show.
"Migrating birds." Vulcan told him. "They used to fly all over, from continent to continent. But now they have nowhere to migrate to."
"That's so sad." Elektra remarked honestly.
"Amaterasu can only generate enough power for the humans of the empire. That's why I'm going to create an energy source greater than Amaterasu…one that can bring the whole world back to life. I'm going to bring the extinct animals back to our world! That is my dream!" Vulcan explained.
Elektra smiled to herself, her thoughts in agreement with Shinra's. Vulcan would be perfect for Company 8. "That's a very noble dream, Vulcan. Truly splendid."
The images came to a stop then, Shinra turning to Vulcan. He was more determined than ever to get the other male to join them. "Come on, Vulcan! You would love Company 8! Would you please meet our captain? Just once?"
"No. Nothing you say will ever convince me to hook up with anyone under Haijima's wing. I'm gonna do my own thing." Vulcan retorted.
"But we aren't under Haijima's wing." Elektra argued.
Vulcan ignore her, picking up the device once more.
"But if you don't do something, Haijima's going to run you out of business! They've started blacklisting us with the junk yards, too!" Yu insisted.
"Time may be tough, but we still have food on the table. I have work to do. I'm going back to the workshop." Vulcan replied.
Elektra sighed as she watched him walk away. "I'll give him this…you have to admire a man who is that determined to do as he dreams. Loyal to a fault."
She had a point, but all it did was frustrate Shinra at how stubborn Vulcan was. The sound of a dish being placed on the ground drew their attention to where Lisa was feeding some stray cats. "It's getting harder to ignore how much we spend feeding these strays. There are birds to feed, too. I'm not much different from these cats, myself."
"Have you been with Vulcan for long?" Elektra asked.
"I lost both my parents in an infernal fire. I went to live with relatives, but they died, too, so I was going to be put in a convent. But the last thing I want to be is a nun." Realizing what she said, Lisa looked up at Iris. "No offense! I forgot you were a nun."
"Oh, none taken." Iris assured her.
"I had lost everything, even the roof over my head. One day, Vulcan found me sleeping in the scrap heap, and he took me in." Lisa continued.
"He's very kind, isn't he?" Iris asked.
"Yeah he is. Almost too kind." Lisa agreed.
"Vulcan thinks he can take in as many animals or people as need him, and he can just work that much harder to take care of them." Yu told them.
"It's a noble trait, but one that is harder to fulfil than most think." Elektra sighed.
Arthur stood before a makeshift cross. Tenting his hands, he paid respects. "You said this grave was for Vulcan's family?"
Yu nodded. "He told me that his father and grandfather both went infernal at the same time. Does that happen often? Vulcan thinks Giovanni had something to do with it."
Elektra had a feeling that Vulcan wasn't far off, but she didn't say anything. Shinra had the same thought, but without proof they couldn't tell them that. "Why does he suspect Giovanni?"
"Vulcan's grandfather had two apprentices. One was Vulcan's father, and the other was Dr. Giovanni." Yu explained. "Soon after their unnatural deaths, Giovanni started working for Haijima. That was something his master had strictly forbidden."
"Forbidden?" Elektra raised an eyebrow. "Did he have something against Haijima?"
"Apparently, Vulcan's family has some kind of history with Haijima." Yu replied.
"We can talk about it all we want, but Vulcan's the only one who knows the truth." Lisa looked back towards the shop. "I need to get to work on Vulc's dinner soon. So…sorry, but you might as well give up and go home."
"I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful." Yu added.
"Oh, don't say that…"
Elektra looked up when Shinra trailed off, his eyes looking dead. "Shinra?" Elektra suddenly winced, a sharp pain spiking through her head. Pressing a hand to her head, she bent double to rest the other hand on her knee. Iris moved to her side to check on her. At the same time, Shinra fell to one knee, his hand shooting out to brace himself while his face and neck broke out in a cold sweat. Even Arthur could tell that something was wrong.
"Hey, is something wrong? You've been weird lately." Arthur looked between Shinra and Elektra.
"Elektra?" Iris asked, concerned.
"I'm fine. I just suddenly got a sharp pain in my head. It came out of nowhere." Elektra told her. Her head still pounded, but the blinding pain was gone as quick as it came. It was so weird, something she had never experienced before. "Shinra? You okay?"
Shinra took a moment to recover while Arthur turned to look back towards the workshop. "I don't think he's going to join us. Maybe we should go back to Company 8 and – "
"No. We can't leave here now." Shinra rose to his feet, an apprehensive grin on his face. "Call it my hero's intuition."
"Intuition? There's more to it than that, isn't there? I can see it in your eyes, Shinra." Elektra remarked, her hand pushing her hair back from her face for a moment while she rubbed at her temples. She shot him a look, one side of her mouth twisting up, her brows furrowed and her free hand going to her hip. Just the way she looked reminded Shinra of a mother scolding her child. It made him feel guilty for not telling them the whole truth, so he did.
The three listened to him quietly, Elektra with her head tilting to the side. The whole thing kind of put Elektra on edge. The timing between his vision and her headache had been too uncanny to be a coincidence. If it had anything to do with his Adolla Burst, it made her uncomfortable to think she might actually have a link to it after all. It sent a chill down her spine that wasn't related to infernals in the least. Already, she was far too different from the average fire soldier. She didn't want to have to deal with the pressure that Shinra was under, as well. Though, while she thought that, she knew she would deal with it the best she could if it came to pass. For now, she had to focus on that moment.
"Dr. Giovanni wants to kill Vulcan?" Arthur asked when Shinra finished.
"I don't know why, but that's what I feel. But we can't call everybody out here on a hunch…we'll have to handle this ourselves."
"But Company 3's captain was trying to scout Vulcan-san, wasn't he? Why would he try to kill him?" Iris asked.
"I can think of a few good reasons. The first could be the whole "work for me or no one" thing. That, or it could have something to do with the connection between Vulcan's family and Haijima." Elektra told her.
Arthur looked at Shinra in disbelief. "Do you really think Vulcan would believe you if you told him this? I don't even believe you."
"Yes, well…you also believe that lizards are dragons and that you live in Camelot. My apologies, my friend, but…your judgment is obviously compromised." Elektra replied, giving him a smile. Elektra would have claimed Arthur angry or upset by her comment…if he understood what "compromised" meant.
"This hunch you have," Iris turned to Shinra. "Do you think it has anything to do with the Adolla Burst you were talking about?"
"Adolla Burst…Adolla Link…" Shinra frowned. "This happened in Asakusa, too! I had a hunch, but it was so clear, it was like he was talking right to me. And it turned out to be real. Which means…I can't ignore this one, either!"
"Good enough for me." Elektra said with a shrug.
Shinra gave her a grateful nod. "You three go back to the workshop and tell Vulcan he's in danger. If he's willing to listen, you should take him somewhere to lay low."
"What are you going to do?" Arthur asked.
"Yeah, I don't have a good feeling leaving you alone, Shinra. Giovanni was the one that already expressed interest in wanting to experiment on you because of the Adolla Burst. You being alone is the perfect time for him to strike." Elektra remarked.
"We don't know if we're up against just Dr. Giovanni, or all of Company 3…but he shouldn't know that we're here either. If I can find some high ground to scout out the enemy, then we can make the first move. You, Arthur, and I are the only ones here that can fight and you more than make up for Arthur's lack of IQ." Shinra explained.
"That being that…I still don't like it. My instincts are screaming at me." Elektra continued.
Shinra took pause there. Her instincts had been proven one to many times to ignore them. "Nearby infernal?"
Elektra shook her head. "Not that. I just feel like there are too many unknown variables for one of us to go off alone. After all, Sister Iris is unpowered and a nun. She can't fight."
"Exactly. If something happens, you need to be at the workshop, so Arthur doesn't do something stupid." Shinra argued.
Elektra really wished he didn't have a very good point, but he did. Arthur on his own could end up causing more trouble than good. Especially since he hadn't brought Excalibur with him. She conceded to Shinra's point with a sigh. "Fine."
She still didn't like the idea, but they would have to deal with it as they could.
End
Kyandi: I really like Vulcan.
Elektra: I do too. For all his harsh words and gruffness, he's got a heart of gold.
Kyandi: Yep. To be honest…I really like the shipping of Vulcan with Lisa. He treats her so well and really cares about her.
Elektra: He does. He'll make a good husband and father.
Kyandi: He would. Like so many of the others around you.
Elektra: True.
Kyandi: Also…you forgot something.
Elektra: I did?
Kyandi: Think for a moment.
Elektra: Hmm…. Holy s –
Kyandi: Anyway, everyone enjoy and review.
Elektra: Kyandi-sama!
Kyandi: It'll be fine…ish. Say your line.
Elektra: sigh We'll be back as soon as possible.
Kyandi: Bye-bye!
Elektra: He's going to be angry…
