Chapter 8
"dammit" Arizona said frantically looking around her desk "April get in here" she hollered towards the door
"what?" April said standing in the doorway
"I can't find the paperwork I had for Sarah" Arizona said almost yelling, it felt weird calling an author by only her first name, but they were friends.
"chill out" April said disappearing and coming back a moment later, dropping a folder on the desk "here"
"why did you have it?"
"you gave it to me to hold on to, because you knew you'd lose it" she looked down at Arizona's cluttered desk
"my god I love you" Arizona smiled
"love you too" April laughed "now that you're calm what's the plan?"
"plan for what?"
"Sarah" she smiled
"well, I have a meeting set up with her tomorrow"
"and dinner tonight" April smiled
"yeah what's funny is Callie and Jamie actually set this one up" Arizona smiled
"hmm" April said, she and Teddy were feeling a little jealous of Sarah and Jamie
"you guys should get together with Laura and Jo" Arizona said moving some stuff on her desk
"and how are we supposed to do that? We haven't even said anything more than hi to each other" April said trying hard to keep the annoyance out of her voice, but Arizona saw right through it. "hey what's going on?"
"Teddy and I just feel like since you've met Sarah and Jamie you don't have time for us" April said slumping down in the chair
"wow" Arizona said "I'm sorry" she added looking into April's eyes.
"I guess I just miss my friend"
"I'm still here, hell you live with me"
"and I only see you at work" April said, the tears threatening to fall "and I haven't even gotten moved in yet"
"why not?"
"I need help"
"ok" Arizona said standing up she walked around her desk "we'll do it this weekend"
"really?"
"yes" Arizona smiled "and I'm sorry it has come to this. I didn't even think you guys would feel that way. Well I should have known with Teddy, but she has you so"
"I know" April sniffled
"come on, let's get some lunch"
"I am hungry"
"then let's go" Arizona said watching April stand she reached out pulling her in for a hug "just remember you're my best friend I'm not going anywhere" she whispered.

"so April brought something up to me today" Arizona said as they were in the car on their way to meet Jamie and Sarah
"oh" Callie said not knowing what else to say
"she said since we've met Jamie and Sarah, they never see us"
"oh" she said in a different tone "I guess I didn't even realize it"
"I didn't either" Arizona sighed "she's right you know"
"I know she is, hey maybe we can hook them up with Laura and Jo, Jamie said all they do is sit around the house"
"maybe, we'd have to get them to meet first"
"they have met" Callie said as she turned on the street Jamie and Sarah lived on
"well more than hi" Arizona laughed
"oh right" she smiled "maybe we can set something up this weekend, have everyone over"
"I told April we'd move her this weekend" Arizona said
"well then" Callie said pulling into the drive, putting the car in park and getting out "maybe they'll help"
"help with what?" they heard a voice say
Arizona smiled hearing Sarah's voice "moving April's stuff from her apartment to our house"
"I'm in" Sarah smiled "I don't have anything else to do"
"you could be working on your next book" Arizona laughed
"yeah that can wait" Sarah smiled "come on in, Jamie isn't home yet" she added following them inside
"Jo?" Laura asked coming around the corner
"no, it's Callie and Arizona" Sarah smiled
"oh" Laura smiled "hi guys"
"Jamie called me about a half hour ago, they should be home soon" Sarah said
"hmm ok" Laura said turning around and walking down the hallway
"so we can either sit in the living room or on the deck, I don't think it's too hot" she smiled "I really haven't been outside today"
"the deck works, I love looking at the ocean" Arizona smiled looking towards the patio door
"the deck it is, would you guys like something to drink? An adult beverage maybe, Jamie has some beer" she went on to say what they had
"I'll take a pop" Arizona said looking at Callie waiting for some smart-ass comment
"what?" she asked
"nothing just waiting for your smart-ass comment about me calling it pop"
"nah I'm good" Callie smiled "and I'll have whatever she's having"
"alright head on out and I'll be out in a bit with the drinks" Sarah smiled nodding to the door. The weather was perfect, the sun shining, a light breeze coming off the ocean made Arizona know she made the right choice in moving to LA, smiling as the sun hit her face she closed her eyes, the smell of the saltwater floating through the air, making her take a deep breath. When she opened her eyes, she saw Callie staring at her. "what"
"sorry, I couldn't help but stare you just look so beautiful"
"stop" Arizona could feel her face turning red.
"never" Callie said leaning in kissing her

"alright so apparently Jamie is running later than she thought" Sarah said rolling her eyes as she made her way out of the house with the drinks.
"that sucks" Arizona said
"yeah, I told Laura to come join us, I don't know if she will" she said sitting down handing the drinks to her guests.
"hey do you think maybe Laura and Jo would want to hang out with Teddy and April?" Arizona mentioned
"hmm that's an idea, I know when Jo's not with Jamie working all they do is sit here" Sarah said looking up when she heard the door open.
"hi" Laura said softly
"hey" Sarah said back with a smile "come join us"
"sorry, I'm bored" Laura said as she sat down
"I told you to join us"
"I know, I just didn't want to intrude"
"no intruding going on here" Arizona smiled, everyone went silent for a few minutes "so I was thinking, you remember my sister?" she said looking at Laura
"yes" she nodded
"well, what if you guys" Arizona started to say, when Laura cut her off "you want us to be friends?"
"sure why not" Sarah smiled "it'd be good for you and Jo to get out more"
"you're right, but"
"how about you come over for dinner then you can get to know them and judge for yourself" Callie smiled
"we'll do it this weekend" Arizona smiled excitedly
"we're moving April this weekend" Callie said rolling her eyes
"they can help" Sarah smiled "come on Laur, you know you want to" she winked at her sister in law.
Sighing she replied "I'll talk to Jo"
"talk to me about what?" they heard from the doorway, she made her way to Laura, giving her a kiss.
"hi" she smiled "you remember Callie and Arizona?"
"I do, how you guys doing?"
"you guys? Where are you from?" Arizona laughed
"Minnesota a small town just south of Minneapolis" Jo smiled
"awesome, I'm from Wisconsin"
"that's cool" Jo smiled "Jamie will be out in a minute, Miley called as we were walking into the house"
"of course, she did" Sarah rolled her eyes
"Miley, as in Miley Cyrus?" Arizona asked
"yup that'd be her" Jo smiled
"they met on The Voice; you know Jamie is a judge this season" Sarah said "that's why we are out here"
"I didn't know that" Arizona said looking at Callie "we don't watch much tv"
"that's how we met too" Jo smiled making Laura scoot over so she could sit, as the talk kept going. Arizona nodded smiling, as Jo went on to explain how she and Laura met.
"hey, sorry about that" Jamie breathed out, making her way to Sarah, kissing her cheek, "that chick likes to talk"
"or maybe she has a crush on you?" Sarah mumbled
"no" Jamie said brushing it off "it's you she has a crush on"
"seriously Jamie? The way she acts when you're together you really think she has a crush on me? I mean look at you?"
"wow" Jamie said looking at her guests shaking her head, she looked back at Sarah "it doesn't matter because she knows I'm married, happily" she made sure to put emphasis on the last part
"hey, I'm just saying" Sarah laughed, Jamie shook her head looking at Arizona she smiled "glad you guys could make it, like I said I'm sorry I was late"
"it's all good" Callie smiled
"well that's my cue" Laura said looking at Jo she nodded for her to follow her into the house
"you don't have to leave" Jamie said watching her sister
"yeah they're your friends" Laura said
"join us, and they can be your friends too" Jamie smiled "god I'm such a dork" she smacked her forehead
"nah" Callie laughed "this one wants to set up your sister and her girlfriend with her sister and her girlfriend" she added pointing at Arizona. Everyone started to laugh at what Callie had just said. "hmm" Callie shrugged and laughed too.

The night went by with easy conversation, after an hour of pressuring Laura and Jo finally joined the party and agreeing to meet Teddy and April. Which made Arizona do a little dance in her chair, as everyone made fun of her. Arizona sat back, after laughing with them, all she could do was smile, this is what having real friends was like. Cracking jokes, and laughing, she looked at Sarah, who was in the middle of telling a story about Laura, Arizona was only half listening, more caught up in her thoughts, only coming out when everyone started laughing harder. She looked down at her phone. "baby we gotta get going it's almost 10"
"damn" Callie said "sorry we have to go, I have an early day tomorrow"
"yeah I do too" Jamie said looking at Jo
"don't remind me" Jo sighed "I'm not looking forward to it" she rolled her eyes
"anyway, Jamie thank you for an amazing dinner" Arizona said standing up
"it was my pleasure" Jamie smiled standing up, she held out her hand to help Sarah up "I'm sorry it took me so long to get home"
"eh it's all good" Callie said making their way around the house to the driveway
"so we'll see you on Saturday?" Arizona asked once they got to the car
"yes" Sarah smiled
"what's Saturday?" Jamie asked
"we are helping April move" Sarah smiled "did I not tell you?"
"guess not" Jamie smiled
"hope it's ok" Arizona said looking down feeling ashamed of asking
"it's no problem really"
"shouldn't take too long" Callie smiled "then I was thinking I'll grill, and we can hang out by the pool"
"sounds amazing" Jamie nodded
"alright, how's 10 sound?"
"sounds great" Sarah nodded
"ok I'll text you the address" Arizona smiled "but we really have to go"
"good night" Sarah and Jamie said in unison

"alright, I think this is the last of it" April said tossing the last of the boxes into the truck "thank you guys so much"
"it was our pleasure" Sarah smiled,
"come on let's go, we have to get this unloaded, and I need a drink" Arizona called from the cab of the truck. April nodded and headed to her car, climbing into the passenger seat, as Teddy started the car and drove away. "I can't believe they helped"
"I can, they are pretty amazing people"
"yeah but Laura and Jo? They don't even know us"
"no, but they want to" Teddy smiled, stopped at a light she looked over at April, reaching up moving some hair out of her face "you're beautiful you know that?"
"stop" she said pushing her hand away
"no really, I love you"
"yeah?" April said finally meeting Teddy's blue eyes, they both smiled "I love you too" she whispered as the light turned green and they drove on.

"how about we put it in the garage for now" Callie said
"that sounds good, I can go through it easier" April said
"not to mention less work" Laura laughed "sorry I'm not used to doing manual labor"
"none of us are" Jo laughed kissing her cheek "come on, the sooner we are done the sooner we can go swimming" she added handing Laura a box.
"fine" Laura sighed taking the box

"finally done" Arizona said plopping down in a chair
"I'll take the truck back tomorrow" Callie said, setting a drink in front of Arizona and sitting in the chair next to her
"thanks baby"
"I can take it back tomorrow" April said "thank you guys for your help" she added looking at the group
"anytime" Sarah smiled
"yeah it wasn't so bad" Laura smiled as she took a drink of the mixed drink Callie had made "damn that's some good shit"
"thanks" Callie smiled "I was a bartender, back in college, you know before, I became the manager of the hotel"
"I didn't know that"
"that's because I never told you" Callie winked
"obviously" Arizona laughed
"oh my god Laura do you remember that karaoke bar we went to when we came out for the interview" Jamie said laughing
"oh my god yes" Laura laughed "and that big butch bitch"
"what happened" Callie asked
"well Laura wanted to sing, so we went there. When we were done, I hopped off the stage, and this chick came up to me."
"when I say big, I mean she stood about six foot" Laura said holding her hand up in the air "and about 300 pounds"
"she wasn't that big" Jamie laughed
"you get the idea though" Laura laughed
"anyway, she started saying something about knowing who I was, and asking about Sarah, not by name but it was starting to freak me out" Jamie laughed "all the sudden I hear Laura behind me, so I stepped out of the way"
"and she started throwing jabs at me like I was my sisters' protector or something. Things got out of hand and I ended up punching her"
"did she fall?" Arizona asked in a laugh
"sadly no, but I left her with a black eye" Laura smiled proudly
"wait, was her name Liz?" Callie asked
"um" Jamie thought for a second trying to remember what the bartender had said "I think so" she nodded
"I know her" Callie laughed "and that story, I seen her the next day"
"crazy" Laura said sitting back in her chair
"I can introduce you to her sobor, I think you'd like her"
"nah I'm good" Laura smiled "I'd rather not see her again"
"that makes two of us" Jamie laughed, reaching for Sarah's hand
"I should probably get dinner started; I don't know about you but I'm starving" Callie said standing up
"baby, why don't we just order something" Arizona said reaching for her hand "you've been busy all day, I'm sure the last thing you want to do is cook"
"it's fine" Callie smiled
"yeah let's just order a pizza or something" Teddy said
"I don't really want pizza" April chimed in "I can run somewhere quick"
"like where?"
"I don't know" she laughed
"how about Jack in the box?" Jo smiled, she loved that place
"sounds good to me" April said standing "what's everyone want?" everyone started rambling off what they wanted "I'm gonna have to write it down" she laughed going into the house grabbing a pen and paper out of her bag. "ok" she smiled when she returned, she passed the paper around "alright is anyone coming with?" she asked looking at Teddy.
"of course," Teddy smiled standing up
Laura looked at Jo who nodded and said "we'll come too" with a smile, making eye contact with Sarah.

In the car there was silence, until April said, "so you're from Wisconsin?"
"I am, she's from Minnesota" Laura said pointing to Jo
"well we've got the three states covered" April laughed nervously, glancing over at Teddy who gave her a nervous smile "how long have you been out here?" Teddy asked, 'why is it so hard to make small talk?' she thought
"um" Laura looked at Jo, "about 2 months I think"
"I've been here for about that long, but I should have just come with Arizona when she first came"
"I came with Jamie, but ended up going home, I thought I missed my wife, but turns out I just missed Sarah" Laura laughed
"you're married?" April asked
"not anymore" Laura said sadly
"that ended when we met" Jo said reaching over for Laura's hand
"oh" April said as she met Laura's eyes in the mirror
"yeah Anna is great, but we weren't meant to be" Laura said looking at Jo she smiled
"oh?" Teddy replied not knowing what else to say
Hearing Laura sigh "I was settling" there was silence
"should we go through the drive thru or inside?" April asked breaking the awkward silence pulling into the parking lot
"I think going in would be better with this big of an order" Teddy said holding up the paper with the order on it
"right" April pulled the car into a parking spot, and everyone climbed out. Looking at Laura she could see the relief at the change of subject.

"I hope everything is going ok" Sarah said looking into the house.
"I'm sure it is" Jamie said
"it'll give them a chance to get to know each other" Arizona smiled
"yeah hopefully Laura doesn't say anything too repulsive" Jamie sighed
"I think we're good there. Teddy can be just as bad" Arizona laughed
"hope so" Jamie sighed "Laura needs friends I'm tired of her" she laughed "that came out wrong"
"I get what you're saying" Arizona laughed "Teddy is the same way, which was why I was super stoked when her and April got together"
"which confuses me" Callie said
"why?" Sarah gave her a confused look
"on the drive out here, she kept going on and on about how straight she was" Callie explained
"well you meet the right person and your ideas changed" Sarah smiled "I went to high school with a girl" she started to explain when they heard laughter coming from inside the house, and Laura in the middle of a story. "no, I'm telling you, Jamie was so nervous, I had never seen her not be able to talk" Laura said looking up meeting Jamie's eyes, she quickly shut up, clearing her throat.
"well dig in" Teddy said putting the bags on the table. Callie reached for the bag and started passing out the food.

"so what are your plans for next weekend?" Jamie asked, they were enjoying a soak in the hot tub
"um" Arizona looked at Callie who answered "nothing"
"well Laura and Jo want to go to Disney Land, and well" Jamie winked
"you want us to go with?"
"sure, why not, it'd be fun" Sarah smiled "I'm actually a little excited about it"
"well" Callie looked at Arizona, who smiled saying "I'm game"
"alright" Jamie said contently "it's nice having friends"
"yes, it is" Arizona smiled sitting back looking out towards the pool where the other four were playing volleyball in the water "they seem to be getting a long good"
"I had a feeling they would, I mean given Laura and Teddy's situation, they are a lot alike" Jamie winked
"yeah they are, both mooching off their sisters" Sarah laughed
"it's not so bad" Arizona smiled looking at Teddy "I'm actually grateful she's here with me, the short time I was here without her I was lost"
"you had me" Callie said putting her arm around her
"I did" Arizona smiled "but it's not the same, she's my rock, my best friend"
"I get that" Jamie said looking at Laura, "when Laura went back to Madison, I was lost, although she wasn't gone very long" Arizona followed Jamie's gaze looking at Teddy "I was alone out here then, it got rather lonely"
"I've never been completely alone" Arizona said in a sigh
"helps you met me the first day" Callie winked, Arizona smiled in reply, Callie leaned over kissing her cheek. Seeing April dunk Teddy under the water. "sometimes I find it hard to believe my sister is with a girl" when Teddy resurfaced, she had April in her arms kissing her.
"she looks happy" Sarah commented
"I've never seen her this happy, April does something for her, almost like" she paused smiling. Sarah finished for her "she completes her"
Arizona smiled and nodded a "mmhmm" picking up her drink and taking a drink.

"so next weekend? Disney world?" Jamie said, they were out in the driveway saying good night
"if you want to go to Florida I'm all in, but wouldn't it be easier to go to Disney Land?" Callie laughed
"fine Disney Land" Jamie shook her head
"and yes, that sounds amazing" Arizona said, Callie had come up behind her wrapping her arms around her.
"we'll see you Saturday" Sarah laughed as Jamie opened the passenger door for her.

The week went by uneventfully, when it was finally Friday afternoon Arizona decided to call it an early day, she had worked late a few days, so she thought two was a good time to pack up and head home. Swinging her bag over her shoulder she stood in the doorway of her office, watching April. She had her phone in hand, and a stupid smile on her face. Arizona didn't say anything just stood there watching her, trying hard not to laughed. Finally, after a couple minutes she cleared her throat, causing the phone in April's hand to go flying. Arizona laughed as a flustered April leaned down to pick up her phone, looking up seeing Arizona "how long you been standing there?"
"long enough to know that my sister has some sort of hold over you"
"damn right she does" April smiled, Arizona could see her face turning red, although she didn't seem embarrassed. That was one thing about April, Arizona had notice almost as soon as they met, she was open, talked about anything and everything including her sex life. Luckily Arizona hadn't had to hear anything too horrific about her sister, other than she was amazing in bed. Arizona shook her head clearing the thought away "are you about ready?" she asked
"oh, we're leaving early?"
"I thought so, I can't seem to get anything done, and apparently neither are you" Arizona nodded towards her phone that just vibrated on the desk
"yeah" Arizona saw that smile again "give me five minutes" Arizona nodded watching April shut her laptop down and reach under her desk for her bag, shoving what she thought she'd need for the weekend in it, laptop included. "ok ready" she said standing up. Arizona reached back turning the light off in her office, then shut the door, not bothering to lock it, no one was going to be there this weekend anyway.

"no dad, I" Callie sighed into the phone, her father was going off on her about something at work she had no control over
"Calliope, you are the manager, you need to fix these problems before it comes to me"
"I know dad, but I didn't know this was going on, it's kind of hard to fix shit if I don't know it's broken"
"I expect to see you in here tomorrow morning at 8 a.m." he said hanging up the phone before Callie could reply. Sighing angerly Callie threw her phone on the coffee table just as Arizona walked in "um, are you ok?"
"oh yeah I'm just fine" Callie said standing up and walking out of the room walking right passed Arizona not even looking at her
"well, I better go find out what's going on" Arizona said looking at April, April didn't say anything just nodded. Arizona set her bag in the chair as she passed through the living room, following the direction Callie had went. Not finding her in the kitchen she looked out the patio door, she stopped, sighing, Callie was sitting at the patio table that overlooked the pool with a cigarette, angerly taking puffs off it. Sighing again, she braced herself, she knew Callie only smoked when she was super stressed out, most the time it was work. Opening the patio door, slowly Callie didn't even look up, but Arizona saw her flinch hearing the door 'shit maybe I should leave her alone' she thought, but then thought 'no she needs me' taking a deep breath "hey, is everything alright?"
"oh just peachy" Callie said letting out the smoke she had just inhaled
"did I do something?" Arizona asked,
Callie finally looked up, meeting her eyes "no" she sighed "no baby, you didn't do anything"
"ok" Arizona took a seat in the chair beside her "care to tell me what has you smoking?"
"my fucking father" Arizona could see the anger rise in Callie's face she knew it wasn't good but she pressed the subject thinking it would help her get it off her mind, only it turned on her, and they ended up fighting "I can't go tomorrow"
"ok, then I won't go"
"no, go"
"no, I don't want to go without you"
"got dammit Arizona will you please do what you're fucking told for once"
"for once?" Arizona said feeling the anger rise within her, she knew the anger Callie was feeling wasn't toward her, but this was "when the fuck have you ever told me what to do?" she saw Callie take a deep breath then said "just go"
"go where?"
"I don't fucking know, in the house, I need to be alone"
"hmm" Arizona said taking a deep breath standing up "I know this anger you're feeling isn't intended for me, but I wish that you'd watch what you say to me, I don't deserve to be treated this way" turning and walking into the house. Once the door was shut, she heard Callie yell "fuck" at the top of her lungs.

"hey what's going on?" Arizona asked coming into the kitchen where Teddy was sitting Teddy looked up saying "I heard her on the phone with her dad about a half hour ago, it didn't sound pretty"
"yeah" Arizona said looking in her sister's eyes, which were a duplicate of hers "I'm not sure, she didn't really tell me, she did however say she won't be able to go with us tomorrow"
"so you're not going to go?" Teddy asked not bothering to hide the disappointment
"no" Arizona sighed "no I'm not"
"yes she is" Callie said standing in the door way
"I'm not going to be a 3rd wheel"
"you wouldn't be" Teddy said "there's 7 of us, so you'd be the 7th wheel" Arizona turned looking at her sister, a look Teddy had seen many of times over the years "ok going now" she said almost running out of the room
"you're going end of story" Callie said
"no I'm not"
"yes, you are" Callie said slamming her hand on the table
"I'm not one of your employees that you can control, I'm your fiancée"
"yeah funny, I haven't even gotten you a ring"
"you know a ring doesn't matter"
"dammit Arizona, just" Callie stopped taking a deep breath
"I came in here because you said you wanted to be left alone"
"I do"
"then why did you come in?"
"because it's my house" Callie said raising her voice
"seriously?" Arizona said, she felt her eyes start to burn with unshed tears "if that's how you feel I'll get out of your hair then" she added turning and leaving the room, not bothering to hide the tears as she made her way up the stairs to the bedroom, going to the closet, retrieving her bag, she tossed a few things inside then zipped it up. All the while sniffling as the flood gates opened. As she made her way to the front door Callie was sitting at the kitchen table with a drink. She didn't bother to say anything to her, she let the slamming of the door say it all. Once in her car, she pulled out her phone, scrolling through the contacts until she came across the one she wanted and hit call. "hello" the voice said
"hey, it's me" she paused to sniffle and wipe the tears out of her eyes
"Arizona? What's going on?"
"can I come stay with you guys tonight?"
"yeah sure come on over, I'll let Jamie know" Sarah said, from the tone of her voice she knew something was wrong but didn't want to press it.
"thanks, I'll be over in a bit"

The drive to Sarah and Jamie's didn't take long, Arizona didn't even remember half of it. Sarah was waiting outside as she pulled up. Climbing out of the car, with her bag, Sarah met her, reaching out and pulling her into a tight hug, which opened the flood gates once again.
An hour later once Arizona's sobs finally stopped Sarah asked, "what's going on?"
"we got into a fight; I know the anger isn't toward me but she took it out on me. Said she wanted to be alone, so I left" Sarah didn't know what to say, she reached out pulling Arizona in for a hug
"what about Teddy and April?" Sarah asked softly
"they're still there" Arizona sniffled looking up she saw Jamie standing in the doorway "sorry if I'm ruining any plans"
"it's ok" Jamie gave her a smile "I think Callie just needs time to cool down, when I talked to her earlier her dad was on her about something at work, she didn't want to go into too much detail"
"that's about all I got out of her too" Arizona sniffled again
"just let her cool down" Jamie smiled "but I am going to let her know you're here so she doesn't worry"
"ok" Arizona said softly
"why don't we take a walk on the beach" Sarah said "it always helps me when I'm upset with Jamie"
"does that happen often?"
"no" Sarah laughed "not too often thank god"

"hey" Teddy said walking into the living room where Callie was sitting on the couch with a drink in her hand
"hi"
"are you ok?" Teddy asked nervously not sure how she was going to react
"I will be" she sighed leaning forward setting her whisky on the coffee table "Arizona is at Jamie and Sarah's"
"I figured" Teddy said softly "did you talk to her?"
"no" she sighed "Jamie text me letting me know" Teddy nodded turning around to leave "Teddy. I'm sorry"
"I'm not the one you should be saying that to" Teddy said turning to look at her
"I know" Callie sighed, "I just" she leaned forward for her drink, picking it up she took a long swallow.
"Callie, she loves you, and you love her, this will blow over"
"Teddy, stop" she said cutting her off, taking a deep breath "my dad is going to fire me"
"what? Why?"
Sighing she nodded for Teddy to sit down "there was a glitch in the computer system, neither I or the tech team found it. All the information that was in the files, peoples credit card numbers, addresses, all the employee's information, it's gone"
"what if it was just a glitch and no one got any of it"
"I'm hoping so, but my dad is pissed" she said taking another drink "I don't know what to do"
"well" Teddy said moving over to the couch to sit next to her "I'm sure if you'd tell Arizona what's going on she'll understand and you two will figure it out. Together" she made sure to look her directly in the eyes for the last part.
"I'm not going to have a job, and all this" she said waving her hand around "it's not cheap"
"just talk to her, if I know my sister at all she'll understand, and you'll work something out"
"I, I've been drinking" Callie said looking down at her drink
"I'll drive" April said from the doorway, she reached into her pocket for her keys and waved them in the air "let's go" she nodded towards the door.

Arizona and Sarah were sitting on the deck, Arizona lost in her thoughts looking out over the water, broken out of her thoughts by Jamie clearing her throat at the door "Arizona, someone is here for you" she said moving out of the way so Callie could be seen. Taking a deep breath Callie whispered "hi"
"hi" Arizona said turning her attention back to the water
"go" Jamie whispered, Callie gave her a sad smile as she made her way passed
"I'll just" Sarah said standing up making her way inside, Callie made her way closer to Arizona. She could smell the whisky on her. "you've been drinking" she said not bothering to look at her
"yeah"
"please tell me you didn't drive" Arizona said finally looking at the woman she loved.
"no, Arizona I did not drive"
"we brought her" Teddy said as she made her way out to the deck "sorry don't mind us we just want to go to the beach" she added making eye contact with Arizona, giving her an it'll be ok smile, before making her way down the stairs. Once on the beach she took April's hand, walking closer to the water. Arizona watch them, she wanted to smile, she was happy for her sister, but she couldn't find it in her at that moment. "Arizona" Callie said softly "I'm sorry" turning to look at her, Arizona felt the sting in her eyes, as a tear slipped out of her eye Callie moved closer, pulling her into her, kissing her head "I'm so sorry baby, I didn't mean to take it out on you"
"I know you didn't but what you said"
"I know" Callie sighed "once I said it, I regretted it. I never want to hurt you"
"well you did"
"I know, and I feel horrible about it" Arizona pulled back so she could look into those chocolate brown eyes she fell for
"are you going to tell me what's going on?"
"yes" Callie said releasing her and trying to sit in the chair, but missed it and landed on the floor of the deck, causing Arizona to laugh "are you ok?" she asked standing up to help her up
"guess I'm a little drunker than I thought" Callie laughed taking Arizona's hand, Arizona pulled her in close "it is that bad?"
"I'm probably going to lose my job" Callie said almost inaudible, as she was lost in the smell of Arizona's hair
"why?"
"some computer shit" Callie said reaching up to touch Arizona's face
"you could have told me"
"I know I should have, but when you came in, I had just got off the phone with my dad, and you know what he does to me"
"I do" Arizona said pulling back "we'll figure it out, you hate that place anyway"
"I do" Callie said getting lost in her eyes "god Arizona I'm so sorry, I never" she was cut off by Arizona's lips silencing her. "just hold me" she whispered as they sat down on the chair.

"someday I'd like to get a place on the beach" April said "I just can't get enough of it"
"that sounds like a plan to me" Teddy said stopping, April looked at her seeing a look she hadn't ever seen before, well maybe on Arizona, but it was different. Teddy turned looking into April's brown eyes. Which were barely visible with the setting sun, she took a deep breath, reaching for April's hand "you know, I never pictured myself with a girl"
"you've all said that" April smiled
"please just listen" Teddy said quietly not taking her eyes off April's "I love you April, there is no doubt in my mind. We were meant to meet, and be together, you make me feel things I haven't ever felt before"
"what are you saying?"
"I'm saying" Teddy let out a small laugh "I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; I love you because I know no other way"
"wow" April smiled
Teddy sighed looking out over the water "I love you; I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself but for what you are making of me, I love you for the part of me you bring out" April wasn't sure how to take these words, she loved her with everything, but was so afraid that if she gave in, Teddy would end up breaking her heart. "I love you too Teddy, I don't know how I can show you how much I love you" she whispered
"marry me April" Teddy blurted out, not giving it a second thought
"Teddy, we"
"I know we haven't known each other all that long"
"you're right we haven't" April said pulling away "this is your first lesbian relationship; how do I know you aren't going to change your mind and go back to guys?"
"because, no guy has ever made me feel the way you make me feel" Teddy reached out to pull her back in "I've never felt this way about anyone before" she added looking into her eyes again. "I love you April"
"I love you too"
"marry me?"
"ok" April said, silently hoping it wasn't a mistake, they hadn't known each other all that long, her doubts fading away when Teddy pulled her in, as their lips met, she felt nothing but the love she had for her, and all the worries she had a few moments before disappeared. With smiles on their faces, they headed back to the house in comfortable silence. Their newly found happiness making them both giddy. Excited to tell her sister about how she was now engaged, Teddy hurried up the stairs to the deck of Jamie and Sarah's, to find Arizona and Callie in a tongue dueling battle. Arizona was straddling Callie in the chair, her arms around her neck, Callie's hands not visible anywhere. All Teddy could do was chuckle then whispered "I don't think we're going anywhere for a bit"
"we brought my car remember" April whispered back with a wink; she was anxious to get home. Teddy gave her a smile that said oh yeah, as she followed April into the house. Sarah was sitting in the big easy chair, they had nestled in the corner, a standing light behind it, making it a perfect spot to read, she looked up seeing the two women. "guess they made up" Teddy smiled
"I'd say so" Sarah smiled leaning over so she could see out the patio door
"will you let them know we headed home" Teddy asked with a smile, reaching for April's hand, not waiting for Sarah to answer before they headed towards the door.
"sure" Sarah smiled
"thank you" April called out before she closed the door. Teddy was walking so fast to the car, April had to do a little jog to keep up. Once they got to the driver's door, Teddy opened it, pulling April into her arms, placing a passionate kiss on her lips. Feeling rather than hearing April's moan, she pulled away smiling. "now drive fast" she whispered as she let go of her to walk around the car and take her place in the passenger seat. April had the car started and in reverse before Teddy even got the door shut and her seat belt on

"hey" Jamie said softly as she made her way out to the deck,
"hi" Arizona smiled, she felt her face turn red, they had been making out like two teenagers for almost an hour
"I think your sister took off" Jamie smiled sitting down
"a while ago" Sarah added sitting down on Jamie's lap
"oh" Arizona blushed again looking at Callie
"they seemed rather eager to get home" Sarah mentioned watching Jamie light a smoke
"wonder what's going on there"
"I don't know but they couldn't stop smiling"
"hmm"
"I'm glad to see you two made up" Jamie said nodding towards them. Arizona was sitting on Callie's lap, her head on Callie's shoulder. "yeah" Arizona smiled kissing her cheek.
"could have done without the sex on my deck" Jamie said taking a puff off her smoke.
"we didn't" Arizona said
"really?" Jamie looked up and all four started to laugh
"we really didn't, came close but no" Callie smiled, kissing Arizona's cheek.

"so tomorrow?" Sarah asked leaning against Arizona's car
"yeah, maybe I should sit this one out" Arizona said looking at Callie
"I think you should go, but I understand if you don't want to" Callie said with a smile
"how about we come over, and just hang" Jamie suggested "they can go if they want, but I'm not too thrilled about going" she added rolling her eyes
"there's an idea" Callie said "I shouldn't be gone all day" Arizona nodded "hell might even be 5 minutes, if I get fired"
"I'm sure your dad won't fire you" Jamie said
"you haven't met him" Callie rolled her eyes "he's an asshole to work for"
"but you're his" Jamie started to say but was cut off "yeah that makes it worse he expects more out of me" she sighed "we should go"
"right" Arizona smiled reaching out to give Sarah a hug
"I'll call you in the morning"
"sounds good" Arizona let go, nodded at Jamie "oh and thank you" she said just before shutting the door. She saw Jamie and Sarah both smile and wave, as Callie drove away.
Too fast for Teddy and April? Probably but who knows what's going to happen.
