A/N: As promised, here are the last two chapters to this story which, I know is way different than what I've written before lol but I had so much fun creating. Happy reading and I can't wait to read all your reviews once you reach its end. :)
Emma drove out of town, past the 'leaving Storybrooke' sign, her thumbs tapping along the steering wheel. She didn't come to a stop until the red convertible drove through an open pathway of trees.
"Why'd you stop?" Regina turned to Emma.
"It's best if we go by foot the rest of the way." Said Emma. "He hasn't seen us following him, and that's a good thing."
"Then, what are we waiting for?" Asked Regina, exiting the car along with Emma, making their way into the woods.
They followed him deep inside, way inside where it felt they had reached the edge of the Earth. It was dark, but it was a good thing Emma had a flashlight inside her car that she could use to guide their way.
Regina held onto Emma's hand as she walked along behind her.
"Stop," Emma whispered.
"What is it?" Regina watched with Emma as Sean pulled up to a cabin, a two story cabin that was very secluded and far off from town. No one would know that it was here.
Sean made his way toward the trunk of the car, parting it open, and Emma and Regina could clearly see a young woman, tied and gagged inside. They could hear her whimper as Sean lifted her up and tossed her over his shoulder like a bag. And with his free arm, he reached for the same folder he had inside the passenger seat and went in.
After ten long minutes, they watched as Sean came back out, alone, mounting the red convertible and dove off.
"Get down," Emma whispered, lying on her stomach all while pulling Regina down with her, the leaves rustling underneath them.
The bright headlights to Sean's car beamed their way, forcing them to sink lower into the ground. It wasn't until the car disappeared that they rose up from the ground again, but remained hunched.
"Who do you think is in there?" Regina asked in a quiet voice.
"I don't know. I don't see any other car, maybe Sean just had her hidden somewhere and brought her here for someone."
"Clearly it's not the first time." Said Regina.
"Clearly not."
"Emma, we have to go in there." Regina turned to her wife, ready to sprint into action.
Emma pulled Regina by the arm, "Wait a minute! We have to call Graham."
"Then call him. But, I'm not sitting here while God knows what could be happening in there. Henry could be in there."
"Regina, listen to me-"
Regina yanked her arm from Emma's grip and ran off toward the cabin.
"Regina!" Emma whispered, cursing under her breath. "Shit." As quickly as possible, Emma fished out her phone from her back pocket, she dialed Graham and heard the line ring once.
"Emma?"
"Graham, you need to drive out of Storybrooke, right now. Drive until you pass the green road sign. You'll see my car. Come far into the woods-"
"Emma, what the hell-?"
"Just come over here quick, Regina is in there. We saw Sean bring a woman into a cabin." Emma rushed over to the cabin. "Look, just get-" She froze, seeing the door being pushed open and a gun aimed at her head. She saw Gold, grabbing a hold of Regina by the throat, holding her body close to his in a menacing way.
"Emma? Emma, are you still there?"
"Hang up the phone." Said Gold, his hand trembling as he switched the gun from being aimed to Emma's head, over to Regina's temple. "Now."
Throwing a glare his way, Emma moved the phone away from her ear, listening to Graham's voice ask for her time and time again until she pressed the 'end call' button.
"Gold, you better think twice about what you're doing." Emma held out her hand. "Let her go."
Gold smirked and shook his head. "No, I don't think I'll do that."
Emma's eyes looked over his shoulder, seeing the girl strapped to a chair before she looked back at Gold. "Listen to me, put down the gun. Whatever it is you're doing here, just-"
"Get inside." Gold nodded his head, stepping away from the door to allow Emma in, holding onto Regina.
Emma's eyes followed her eyes but stepped inside, where the girl strapped to a chair whimpered. Her eyes took a quick glance at the folder that was opened against a wooden table. She quickly read a name next to the picture of the girl that was now strapped to the chair. Belle.
"Turn around. Slowly." He ordered.
Emma rotated slowly, her eyes glaring at him in a deadly manner.
"Gold," Regina decided to speak. "Please. Just give us back Henry, okay? That's all we want." Her eyes land on Emma. "You give us back Henry, and we'll leave. We won't say anything."
Gold's brow furrowed. "What?"
"We won't say anything. Of you taking this girl," Regina looks to Belle, who has tears streaming down her eyes. "Of you killing all those people- taking Henry- nothing. Just give him back to us, please." Her breath trembled.
Gold chuckled, "You two are off your hinges. I didn't kill anyone."
Emma scoffs, "Just like you didn't kidnap her?" Her eyes look toward Belle.
"That's my business. Not yours! What I do with her," he motions to Belle with his gun. "Is my business! And you," he aimed his weapon at Emma. "You aren't going to get in the way of that."
Regina locked eyes with Emma before she worked up her courage to elbow Gold right in the stomach, and grabbed onto the one hand that held the gun, tilting it upward. Emma raced toward them, launching her body right at Gold once his fist struck Regina across the face, sending her flying across the room.
The clanking of the gun along with Emma and Gold's struggles were the only sounds that came from the cabin, followed by Belle's cries.
Gold's body crawled on top of Emma's while Emma stretched out her hand, the tips of her fingers being the only source of skin that grazed the gun. Regina groaned, her head thumping as she sat up.
"Regina!" Emma hissed while she struggled with Gold as he straddled her body, pinning her to the floor. "Regina, get the gun!" She shouted.
Only Regina's eyes weren't looking at the gun, but at the knife Gold kept strapped to his waist. Rushing over to him, Regina pulled out the knife and jammed into his side, hearing a scream come out of Gold, his eyes wide once he felt the knife pushed in deeper. Regina's heart accelerated inside of her chest as she looked into the man's eyes.
And as Gold's body landed on the floor, the door was busted open by Graham and two of his fellow officers.
"What in the name of Christ happened?" He breathed out, his eyes wide. "Untie her!" He ordered his two companions, who rushed over to Belle.
Emma moved over to Regina, helping her stand. "Are you alright?" She asked her.
"Yeah," Regina nodded, her eyes landing on Graham, who tucked his gun inside of its holster.
"Either of you mind telling me what's going on?" He asked.
"By the looks of it, Gold's been keeping this girl inside of the town." Regina looked toward Belle.
"Belle?" Graham called out to her.
"You know her?" Emma asked.
He nodded, "The whole town knows her. She's been vanished for an entire year. We didn't know anything about her whereabouts."
"Gold had Sean keep me locked up in a back room, inside his workshop." Belle spoke up, her voice hoarse from all the attempted screaming.
"What?" Graham's eyes bulged out.
"It's true," Said Emma. "Regina and I followed Sean all the way out here. We saw him take her out of the trunk of that red convertible and bring her in here."
"Sheriff," Regina spoke up. "Henry might be in here."
Graham turned to the two officers. "Check every room of this place. I want it combed from top to bottom!"
"Yes, sir."
"You two come to the station with me. I'll have Whale come in to check up on Regina, and I'll send two more of my officers to arrest Sean and bring him in for questioning."
Regina hissed as Whale placed a butterfly bandage near her cheek. "Is Gold dead?" She asked him.
"Fortunately for you, no. He's wounded, but nothing that won't heal in time." Answered Whale with a smile to him. "You got really lucky."
The corner of Regina's lip tilted into a small smile.
"How is our patient?" Asked Graham, standing just outside the open door of the room in Whale's clinic.
"She'll live." Whale smiled, walking out of the room.
Emma stands from the chair she was sitting in. "Sean?" She asked Graham.
"He's been arrested. He's agreed to spill the beans on Gold, everything he knows."
"What exactly was going on?" Asked Regina.
Graham frowns in shame. "Apparently between Sean and Gold they've been kidnapping girls from out of town. Human trafficking sort of thing. Except if memory serves me, Gold's always been in love with Belle. And when she rejected him…"
"And Henry?" Asked Emma. "What about our son? Did you find him in that cabin? In the woods somewhere?"
Graham's face falls. He sees Regina cry and Emma pulls her into a hug. "I was very hopeful that we would find him there, too. I'm sorry."
"You're sorry?" Emma hissed, glaring at Graham over her shoulder.
"Look, the good news is that Gold didn't die. Believe me, once he regains consciousness, we'll be questioning him. You'll be happy to know that I've placed him under twenty-four seven hour watch and I've listed him as the prime suspect of your son's disappearance."
"Sheriff, please… You have to find him. Find Henry." Regina cried, clinging to Emma's side.
Graham gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze in a promise and began walking to the door.
"Sheriff," Emma called out, waiting for him to look at her. "Check his home. My son's toy plane is missing and I would hate to think that he took it as a souvenir."
Graham nodded, "I will." He said, and left.
Regina's head rested against Emma's shoulder as they entered the bed and breakfast.
"Are you two okay?" Mary Margaret came rushing in, startling them both. "I heard what happened with Gold."
"We're okay." Said Emma.
"My God…" Mary Margaret scoffed. "I mean, all these years, you think you know a person. I hear he denies being the murder, but you know what? I doubt that."
"So do we," Said Regina, glancing over to Emma.
"I'm so sorry that this is the impression that you two have to have of a great town like Storybrooke. I promise you, it's never been this bad before. Not bad at all. I mean, things didn't start spiraling out of control until you two showed up. And Henry, I really hope he's found."
"He will be." Said Regina, giving off a forced tiny smile.
"Well, listen, let me make it up to you two." Mary Margaret grinned. "Show you that not all of us are as bad as Gold or Sean."
"Right now, I don't know-" Regina shook her head.
"Yeah, we're pretty beat." Said Emma.
"Come on. Just a quick drink with David and I. I know it's the right moment but we are celebrating something and we would really like for you to be a part of it." She smiled.
"One drink couldn't hurt." Emma shrugged, and Regina nodded in agreement.
