Clap…Clap..Clap…
Baki and Retsu paused as Retsu was handing off Jaku to Baki after he carried him on his shoulder to the exit out of respect for the man's spirit despite his trickery.
They both looked at Jack who was smiling confused as to why he was clapping as he both knew that this fight if it could be called that was far from impressive to him "oh don't look at me like that you two it's only natural that I would clap after seeing such an Oscar-worthy performance.
'Oscar-worthy performance?' The two of them shared the same thought but their confusion didn't last long as Jaku who they thought was unconscious jumped up and latched onto Retsu like how a baby koala bear would do to its mother.
"See Mr Retsu, that was an Oscar-worthy performance approved even by Mr Jack…please come with me to Japan please please please."
Retsu pushed him away and turned around. He looked like he swallowed a whole lemon after that extraction.
"Hey don't hit an injured man…" to say that Jaku was lucky to have Retsu, as his opponent would be an understatement as any other contestant from the Chinese team would have more than likely killed him.
Even his teammates turned their backs on him as Baki and Jack walked away despite only Baki having second-hand shame from Jaku's actions. Both of them didn't want to be beside the man who was still shouting about bringing Retsu to Japan, where they left him.
"Well, as much as that fight amused me, I do have some business to attend to."
"Hmm, what's that ?"
"Nothing much, just heard some interesting rumours about an ape like spacious similar to the yasha ape we have living back in Japan, so I'm going to check it out."
"WAIT…there are more like him? I thought he was the last one."
"Well.. Technically, he is the last of his kind. If the rumours I heard are true, then the ones I will find are more or less a close cousin of his species. "
"Like different breeds of dogs?"
"Yeah, like a different breed of dog."
'Though only you would make that train of thought.'
Jack kept that last part to himself; he was honestly just glad that Baki knew at least that much, considering his almost complete lack of understanding when it comes to biology beyond the bare bone basics.
"So you're not going to watch Yujiro's fight?"
"No directly No I have a good idea of what the old kaiou will do, but it is still a good thing you reminded me I need to get something from my room you can go ahead I will be there shortly".
Jack and Baki split aways Jack, going to grab whatever it is he needed from his room as Baki continued on his way to the waiting room.
Once he arrived he met Jaku on the way in as the two made their way in together with Jaku choosing to stand In Front of everyone in the middle as Baki went ahead to toss the empty cup that was previously filled with boba tea in the trash bin that was also filled with two similar plastic cups one of which was still partially full with tea.
"I would like to apologise to everyone because of my mistake we lost a clean victory.." Once Baki turned around, Jaku had bowed, apologising to everyone.
None of his three present teammates seemed all that bothered about the loss, though Baki just gave him a small smile at that. "I don't think you need to apologise. You did quite well to take all of Retsu's attacks for so long, and you played your cards well."
"It was the only way I could fight him."
"It was the best way," Ali replied. He had quite the sombre look on his face properly imaging himself in Jaku's place.
Yujiro didn't comment on his apology, whether it was out of acceptance or just because he didn't expect him to win in the first place was unknown.
Either way Jaku was quite relieved with the answers, he was glad that no one blamed for ruining their perfect victory "but I was really hoping to get the chance to weasel my way out of that lunch If I won.."
Jaku muttered under his breath, but it was still loud enough for Baki to hear as his lips twitched alongside his brow, trying to hold back on laughing before he explained something to the man in front of him.
"Jaku, you have a better chance of beating Yujiro over there than getting out of that dinner." Jaku was surprised by that statement, but just as he was about to ask why that is, Jack entered the room with a sturdy looking suitcase in his hand, drawing everyone's attention to it.
"So that's what you wanted to get from your room. What is it, a camera?" Baki approached Jack as he started to unpack on the floor, leaning over it to get a better look.
"Not quite, it's a drone with a camera attached to it. I'm going to use it to help me get an overhead view of the fight while I'm gone."
"Gone? Are you not going to watch the rest of the fights?" Jaku asked as he watched what Jack was doing.
"No, I have some business to attend to. Now focus here, Baki. I'm going to need you to pack it up again when the fights are done, okay?"
"Ahh.. Yeah, sure, how does it work?"
"Don't worry about that I just need you to fold in the wings like how I will show you and then put into place when it's done and be careful if you break it you pay for it"
"Ye.. yeah right I will be careful" Baki was trying his hardest to pay as much attention as he could to Jack but he wasn't the only one Yujiro was also paying close attention to the drone in Jack's hands.
It may not seem obvious but Yujiro was far from a simple meathead and assuming otherwise was the death of many, he is actually quite well versed in many scientific fields and has a deep understanding of many of there principles and he is also up to date on many of the technical advancements even more than the normal due to his many connections.
And seeing the drone in Jack's hands made him wonder as either one of his sons was more than just a muscle head or he needed to refresh his knowledge of the latest surveillance devices and he was quite curious to find out which.
