Skye had stayed with us for a week when she went back with Phil and the others. There was a lot going on there but I was also busy with the Avengers and looking for Loki's staff.

We were in Scovia fighting through the bad guys so we could get to the building.

I was fighting one when another came up behind me and knocked me on my butt. Just as they were about to hit me Clint took them both out. Getting up I gave him a wave before getting back to fighting.

I listened to them all talking when dad spoke up.

"Wait a second, no one else is going to dill with the fact that Cap just said 'Language'?"

"I know. Just slipped out."

"Dad"

"I know best behavior." We continued to fight them and tried to get to the building to find the staff.

Nat called out that Clint had been hit and I made my way to them.

Dad was working on finding a way in and I got to Clint and Nat.

"He's not looking good."

"Clint is hurt pretty bad guys," Nat told the others. I helped her to take care of his wound the best I could while I heard the others talk.

"And for gosh sake, watch your language!" Dad said.

"That's not going away any time soon." I heard Steve say.

"We need to get out of here." Thor showed up and took Clint.

"Rebekah get back to the quinjet. I will be there soon."

"You all can be so bossy, you know that right?"

"I know." I made my way back to the quinjet and waited for the others as I tried to help Thor stabilize Clint.

"Hang in there, we need to get you home."

"I'm trying." I watched over him while dad talked to Thor.

After a while, everyone got back and we were off back to the tower.

I kept a close eye on Clint making sure he was alright. I had promised the kids I would have their dad's back and I was not breaking that promise.

I smirked at Thor as he failed to make Bruce feel better and then listened to them talk about the staff.

Hearing them talk about the party I rolled my eyes but kept quiet.

Once we got to the tower I followed them with Clint watching as they worked on him.

We asked about what she was doing and as she told us dad came back in.

"He's flatlining, call it."

"No, no, no. I'm gonna live forever. I'm gonna be made of plastic."

"You'll be made of you, Mr. Barton. Your own girlfriend won't be able to tell the difference."

"I don't have a girlfriend," he said and then glanced at Nat and me.

"That I can't fix." She went on talking to dad and I tried not to smile and slowly started to drink my drink.

Once they all had headed out I looked at Clint and Nat when we were alone.

"I'm sure Laura will be very happy to know you don't have a girlfriend."

"I know she will be."

"Better keep it that way," I said before walking out.

"When did you become so sassy?" He called out and I smiled.

Steve walked up to me.

"You are in a good mood."

"I am, Clint is alright. We got the staff, things are looking up finally. It has been a long few months and I am very glad things are slowly getting better."

"I'm glad that people know about us now."

"So you can kiss me?"
"That is a very nice plus."

"Then what are you waiting for?" He smiled but placed a kiss on my lips.

After a moment we pulled back and he placed his forehead on mine.

"That I will always love."

"I will as well."

"Come on lots to do before dad's party."

"How big is this?"
"Right, you have never seen one of his parties. You're in for a real treat. They always end on the wild side. No matter what I do. Something always goes wrong and then the party gets out of hand. Don't worry you will see. At the last party, he blew up our living room so who knows how this one will go down."
"Should I be worried?"

"Well all of the Avengers are going to be here, so I guess it can't be that bad if anything does happen."

"I hope so."

A few days later everything was ready for the party and it was in full swing. There were people everywhere laughing and having a good time. I saw Bucky standing away from everyone and walked over to him.

"What are you doing over here all by yourself?"

"I have not been around this many people in a long time. I guess I got a little nervous when Natalia walked away for a little."

"Bucky, I believe in you. You have got this, you are doing really well and nothing bad will happen because of you. They can't control you anymore Bucky. You are free of them."

"I guess I just don't know how when it has been so long."

"You will get there I promise you."

"So why are you not enjoying the party?"
"It's not that I am not enjoying it. Just that I have never been a big party person, that is all my dad. He has always been the party guy and I am more keeping to myself."

"Another reason you and Steve are so good for each other."

"I do try, come on let a girl get you a drink."

"I thought it was usually the guy."

"Well, I like to mix things up and I need to get you out of your shell some because you are an amazing person. People just need to see it."

"Alright let's go."

Mingling around the party and talking to people for the next few hours I got tired. Sneaking away I walked over to a window and looked out slipping my shoes off.

People were starting to leave and I was ready for some time away from everyone but the Avengers and close friends.

I felt arms wrap around me and leaned into them.

"Are you alright?"
"Just tired, Thank you for checking on me."
"What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't?"

"Well, it is what makes you the best kind."

"Do you mind if I stand here with you for a little?"
"I would love nothing more." We stand there looking out and I feel safe and secure in his arms as we do so.

Once everyone had left we were all sitting around talking and just having a good time.

I was sitting next to Steve and leaned into his side. As I smiled listening to all the conversations around me.

"But it's a trick"

"No, no it's much more than that."

"Ah, Whosoever be he worthy shall haveth the power' Whatever men it's a trick."

"Please, be my guest." I smile as Clint gets up.

"Clint you've had a tough week we won't hold it against you if you can't get it up."

"You know I've seen this before, right?"

Clint tries to pick up the hammer and can't do it.

"I still don't know how you do it!"

"Smell the silent judgment?"

"Please Stark by all means." Dad gets up and undoes the button on his jacket and I roll my eyes at him.

"Never one to shrink from an honest challenge. It's physics. Right, so if I lift it, I then rule Asgard?"

"Yes, of course." I try so hard not to laugh as I set up.

"I will be reinstituting prima nota." I roll my eyes at that and watch him try to lift before he can't and he goes to get his Iron man hand.

That also doesn't work and then he and Rhody try together but they can't lift it as well.

Bruce takes a turn but also fails to lift it. I watch all the guys trying and try not to laugh.

Steve got up and as he pulled it moved some, I looked at Thor who lost his smile and I started to smile even more. Before he walks back to me.

"And, Widow?"

"Oh, no, no. That's not a question I need answered."

"All deference to the Man who Wouldn't be King, but it's rigged."

"You bet your ass."

"Steve, he said a bad language word."

"Did you tell everyone about that?"

"The handles' imprinted, right? Like a security code. 'Whosoever is carrying Thor's fingerprints' is I think the literal translation. Rebekah, you should try."

"You just said it was rigged and I don't have his fingerprint."

"If you can do it I will buy you anything you want."

"Really?" I was integrated and looked over to Thor before looking back to dad.

"Name it."

"You replace my car. You know the one that went to the bottom of the Ocean when you gave our address to a Killer. You remember that right?"

"How can I forget when you are always reminding me?"

"Just need to make sure you don't do anything like that again."

"I will get you a new car if you can lift it."

"Alright, deal. Just remember that none of you could lift it. So you can't give me a hard time."
Walking over to the hammer I grabbed the handle before looking at everyone. I gave Thor a smile before lifting the Hammer and looking at dad.

"I want it blue like before."

Everyone was staring at me and I smiled at them.

"How?"

"You have very, very interesting theories. I have a simpler one. You're all not worthy."

Thor tells them as I had it over to him.

"Well other than lady Rebekah of course."

"Since when can you lift it?" Nat asked.

"I wanted to know after the battle of New York. Thor was trying to cheer me up. We have known since then." They all start to groan.

"You played me."

"I learned from the best." I laugh with Thor while the others groan more.

Then we hear a high-pitched noise.

"Worthy. No. How could you be worthy? You're all killers."

"Stark"

"Jarvis" Steve stepped in front of me trying to block me.

"I'm sorry, I was asleep. Or I was a dream."

"Reboot Legionnaire OS. We got a buggy suit." I heard dad say quietly. I was wondering where Jarvis was. I was worried that he had not answered dad yet.

The robot keeps talking as I feel Steve grab my hand behind his back.

"You killed someone?"

"Wouldn't have been my first call. But down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices."

"Who sent you?"

"I see a suit of armor around the world." we heard dad say in a recording and I turned to look at him.

"Ultron"

"In the flesh. Or, no, not yet. Not this chrysalis. But I'm ready. I'm on a mission."

We all got ready for what might happen next. While Nat asked what mission.

"Peace in our time." All of a sudden suits started flying out and coming at us.

Steve pushed me out of the way just in time before he was thrown back.

We all quickly started to fight off the suits and I got up realizing at some point I had cut my leg with the glass that was now everywhere. I made my way over to the doctor as Steve took care of the suit that was after her and I stayed with her keeping her safe as they took down the rest.

"I'm sorry, I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve?" Ultron kept talking until Thor threw his hammer at it and he finally stopped.

Steve walked over to me.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes, thank you." He then saw the blood on my leg.

"What happened?"

"A cut from glass. I will be fine." We all headed to the lab where I listened to them talk while I was cleaning up my cut. Wiping the blood away I realized the cut was not too bad.

Thor walked in and came after dad before everything started to fall apart when dad started to laugh. Bruce tried to talk dad down while they all started to argue about everything and dad told us we would lose.

"Maybe we should have handled all of this a little differently. I'm all for doing something to help people but not with something that is going to hurt people as well. Things we have done to make things better have made things worse. We need to work together and not let this get between us."

"Do you really think that will be what makes this all better?"

"Maybe, Maybe not. But I know that we can't let anyone come between us." I said.

After a while we all get changed and get to work. I sent Mel a text letting her know to be on guard so she could let the others know as well.

I was helping the others go through files and listening to the conversations when Bruce brought up Wakanda.

"Wakanda, he has things from Wakanda?"

Dad and Steve start to talk about Wakanda. When Bruce asked about it.

"What comes out of Wakanda?

"The strongest metal on Earth."

"Where is this guy now?" I look over to Bucky and give him a look.

"I need to make a call. I will be back." I walk out pulling out my phone.

"Where is she going?" Dad asked.

"Calling a friend, this is a lot bigger than we thought it was," Bucky tells him, as he knows what I am doing.

After getting off the phone with T'challa and giving him a heads-up, I head back to the others before we head off to stop Ultron.

We got there and I followed the others in. Bucky had come with us as a backup even though he was nervous about what would happen.

"Ah, junior. You're gonna break your old man's heart."

The rest of us listen and get into place waiting to see if they can talk him down.

Then the fighting starts. I'm busy fighting off the guys when I see Bucky walk in.

"What are you doing?"

"Bruce and I figured I would be better to come in than him."

"Stay close"

"Whoevers standing we got to move. Guys."

"Clint, where are you, I'm with Bucky."

"The girl tried to get in my head, I stopped her and the boy took her."

"We need to find the others. Make sure they are all alright."

"Bucky find Nat, be careful. I will look for Steve. Clint look for Thor."

"On it." We each go off looking for the others. I find Steve and walk over to him.

"Steve, look at me. Are you alright?" I help him to set up and try to get him to focus on me but he is out of it.

"Guys we need to get them out of here."
"I found Thor, Clint do you have Natasha?" Bucky then said.
"I have her. Let's get them out." I help Steve to stand.

"We need to go, Steve, can you walk with me?"

He slowly starts to walk and we head to the Quinnjet.

Once there the others walk to their own place to think and I look at Clint.

"Do we go?"

"It's the only place."
"Are you ready for them to know?"

"I will need to be."

Once dad got back with Bruce we took off and it was a quiet flight. Dad checked in with Maria and she told us it was not good.

The rest of the flight passed and we got to the house.

We all walked in as Thor asked what it was and dad said a safe house.

Clint walks over to Laura talks to her and kisses her.

"This is an agent of some kind," Dad told Thor and I smiled that he had no idea just how right he was.

"Gentleman, this is Laura."

"I know all of your names. Hi Beks"

"Hi" as the kids come running in, Laura walks to me and I hug her.

"O, sweetie, I wish you would have told me."

"I know, I just didn't know how. But I am doing better."

"I'm glad." We told each other as we hugged.

"These are smaller agents." I smiled at dad.

"Did you bring Auntie Nat?"

"Why don't you hug her and find out?" Nat said, walking up to Lila. She picks her up and Copper sees me.

"Aunt Bek's," he said, hugging me.

"Hi, buddy." I hug him before Lila comes to me as well.

"Auntie Bek's"

"Hi, sweet girl" I hold her close and place a kiss on her head as I hear the others talk.

I watch Thor walk out and Steve follow. I was worried about what they were all thinking.

I watched Nat head to her room and Bucky followed her. Clint and Laura walked out and I looked at the kids.

"Are you ready to be a big sister?"

"I'm going to be the best one yet."
"I know you will be." I saw Bruce standing not knowing what to do.

"Bruce come on, I will show you one of the guest rooms." I took him upstairs and showed him an empty room and then headed to my room.

As I walked by Nat's room I decided to knock.

"Come it." I heard them call.

Walking in I saw Nat in Bucky's arms.

"Are you doing alright?"

"I will be"

"Don't hold it in Nat. It will eat you alive. Trust me. I have gone down the rabbit hole."

"I know," she looked out the window. "You might need to break up your dad and Steve."

"Of course" I start to walk out before turning to look at Nat.

"I am here to talk if you need Nat."

"I know Sweets, I will be fine."

I walk out and see Laura talking to them.

"Don't take from my pile," Dad said before walking away.

I look to Laura,

"I will come help make some food in a moment."

"Thank you, Sweetie." She walks to the house and I look at Steve.

"How are you doing?"
"A Lot has happened."
"I know."

"Is that Laura then went to Vegas with you?"

"On the girl's trip, yes. I have known her for years. Before they even got together. After they did and they got this place I would come here at times when mom was away. I have been here a lot over the years. It has always been a second home to me."

"You didn't say anything."

"I know, I did it to keep those kids safe. They are my family and I would go to the ends of the earth for them. I won't let anything happen to them by letting the world know about them. I can't let them go through the things I went through. I will protect them from that."

"I didn't think about it that way."

"Well, none of you grew up the way that I did."

"I'm sorry"
"It's not your fault Steve. Not anyone's really, they did what they did to keep me safe and I'm grateful for that. At the time there was no other way. But now there is for those kids and I will make sure they get the lives they all deserve."

"You truly are something special."

"Do you want to talk about what you saw?"

"I saw Peggy, the end of the war. Dancing."
"I see."

"Then you showed up. As I was about to follow her you were there holding your hand out to me. Rebekah, I need you to know that you are my future. Peggy is my past and while there will always be unknowns with that chapter of my life. I chose to move on with you and be with you. I love you, Rebekah. Don't ever think that I don't because you are who I want to be with. Who I want to have a life with."

"I want the same. I know that things didn't work out the way you planned but I do hope that I can bring you the happiness you once felt before."

"You do and so much more."

"I love you, Steve Rogers."
"I love you Rebekah Stark" I walked into his arms and let him hold me for a moment where I felt safe and loved.

After a few minutes, I pulled back a little.

"I should go help Laura, there are a lot of people to feed."

"I will be here."

"Steve, thank you for everything. You truly are amazing."

"I will do all I can for you, but you are the amazing one."

"Thanks, I will see you in a little." Placing a kiss on his lips I head inside where I see Laura watching.

"You know I want to know everything that has happened since the last time we talked."

"Well there is a lot, so I will be telling you everything while I help with dinner."

So we go about making dinner and I tell her everything that has happened since the girl's trip and with dating Steve and SHIELD falling. The only thing I don't say is that Phil is alive but tell her everything else.

Fury had come in with the others and I talked to Laura still while they all talked.

"I wish you would have told me what was going on."

"I know but I didn't know how and I was afraid to say something. Worried that everyone would see me differently if I did. I wanted you all to be proud of me but I knew that I had done some dark things as well and I had no idea how to handle it all."

"Well, I'm glad you are doing better, You are doing better right?"

"Much, I worked through a lot of things while I was away and it helped a lot. I truly am in a much better place than I was."

"I'm glad because you deserve to be happy and you deserve all of the love that you get. We all love you Rebekah no matter what may happen or what you do. We will always love you. That and if anyone says otherwise I will be more than happy to kick some butt."

"I know Laura, you will go all mama bear for me, and I am so glad I have you to do so. I love you."

"I love you, my sweet girl. Come on, let's get all of this food to the heroes."

"That is what my life has become."

"Don't I know it."

We take the food to the table and everyone sits around eating and talking things through while also keeping it kid friendly for the kids listening.

Once we had all finished eating we were sitting around talking trying to come up with a plan that could work. I was sitting by Nat listening to all of them talk.

Lilla brought both Nat and me a picture before running back to her mom and going to bed.

I was trying to think of the best plan.

"Well this is good times boss, but I was kind of hoping when I say you, you'd have more than that."

"I do. I have you. Back in the day, I had eyes everywhere. Ears everywhere else, you kids had all the tech you could dream up. Here we all are back on Earth with nothing but our wit and our will to save the world. Ultron says the Avengers are the only thing between him and his mission. And whether or not he admits it, his mission is global destruction. All this, laid in a grave. So stand. Outwit the platinum bastard."

"Steve doesn't like that kind of talk."

"You know what Romanoff?" She smirked and I smiled at them, glad they could get along, for both Bucky and I.

"So what does he want?"

"To become better. Better than us. He keeps building bodies."

"Person bodies. The human form is inefficient. Biologically speaking, we're outmoded. But he keeps coming back to it."
"When you two programmed him to protect the human race, you amazingly failed."

"They don't need to be protected. They need to evolve. Ultron's going to evolve."

"How?"

"Has anyone been in contact with Helen Cho?"

"He's using her to build a body with vibranium."

We then made a plan and got ready to go.

"Be safe out there."

"I will Laura, I promise. I will try to come by when all of this is done. Plus here soon there will be a new baby to spoil."

"I know you will as well. I love you, sweetie."

"I love you." We hugged and I headed over to the others.

I left with Fury Bruce and Bucky to head back to the tower.

"So what is your big plan, Fury?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, what are you going to do? After all, you have Maria working back for you. Sorry, she has always been working for you. Maybe you have other secret people working for you."

"What are you getting at Rebekah?"

"Just never know when some extra help from some old friends might help."

"What do you want me to say?"

"Nothing, just wondering if you have any old friends."

"Well, you seem to know more than I do anymore."

"Maybe, but just want to make sure you don't know anything that we don't that could help us."
"Let's get you to the tower and I am sure you can take care of things there."

I smirked knowing that I was getting under his skin. But I was not going to let all of the secrets he kept go unsaid for long.

We were all quiet for the rest of the trip to the tower and once we got there we got to work on what we needed to do.

I just hoped the others were doing alright.

After what felt like forever Clint showed up with the cradle.

"Where are the others?"

"Dad and Bruce are in the lab. Bucky is taking a moment. Where are Steve and Nat?"

"Ultron grabbed her."

"What?"

"We will find her. Let's get this to the others."

Once the cradle was to dad and Bruce, Clint went to see if he could find Nat and I went to check on Bucky.

"How are you holding up?"

"I should have been there. I could have helped her."

"You don't know that Bucky. Even if you had been there it could have still gone the same way. Nat is one of the strongest people I know. She is going to be alright Bucky, I'm sure of that. She will fight to get back to us."

"I promised to protect her."

"I know, she knows that as well. It will all be alright, I have to believe that."

We sit quietly for a while when we hear yelling and then a gunshot.

Looking at each other we run to the lab to see Thor Charging the cradle before being thrown and a guy robot thing comes flying out.

Bucky stands in front of me ever so slightly as we all stand watching what happens next before following them.

I listen to Thor tell us about the mind stone and then say dad is right.

Keeping quiet I watch all of them and listen wondering if this is what it was all coming down to. Hoping that whatever happened next would be ok.

Clint said Nat was in Sakovia with Ultron and I looked at Bucky who was on edge.

As Vision told them what was going on and that they all needed to work together I felt a little frustrated because I had been saying that all along this whole time and I knew that they had not been listening to me at all.

We all got ready and we got onto the Quinjet and made the plan.

Steve gave us all a speech and we told Bucky he would find Nat while the rest of us worked on getting people out.

I saw Wanda and walked over to her.

"Hello, I was hoping we could talk."

"Your Stark's daughter?"

"I am"

"You are different than the others."

"What do you mean?"

"You have already lived some of your greatest fears."

"I have, how do you know that?"

"When I look into your mind. You have gone through more than most, you understand things that others don't."

"I do try."

"Don't you hate my brother and me for what we did?"

"No, I find wasting time on hate does nothing for you. Life is so much more than living in the past. Believe me, I spent a lot of time doing that and it almost destroyed me. I want to only move forward. If that is what you would like I am here to help in any way that I can."

"You are much nicer than most people are."
"I know what it is like to be on the outside and to not fit in. If you want you have a place. The choice is yours." I smiled at her and let her think about things.
