Episode 31: Release the Demons Part 2
Sometime later, at the hay maze, everyone is still having a good time, having food like popcorn, candy apples, and drinks, playing games, chatting, and going to the hay maze. Suddenly, walking out of the forest, are the demons who are sent by the Devil to retrieve Cuphead and Red Rose. Soon, the citizens notice the demon, and scream as they run away in fear. The demons continue to walk through the small fair to the hay maze.
The ticket vendor says, "Tickets, plea-" He then screams in fear to see the monsters and runs away with babbles.
Soon, the demons begin to enter the maze to find their target. And just coming out of the forest is King Dice. He pants as he has run all the way to the small fair. He then continues running to catch up and runs into the hay maze as well.
Meanwhile, Cuphead, Mugman, and Red Rose are still walking around the maze. Just then, a pumpkin with a goofy smile appears in front of them, tied by a rope.
"Oh, so scary," Cuphead sarcastically says.
He then pushes it aside and the three continue to walk through the maze.
Then a bad looking scarecrow wearing a top hat pops up.
"Lame," Cuphead says.
Then a corn with a happy face appears and with recorded laughter playing.
"Ugh," Cuphead replies.
Red Rose sighs and says, "To be honest, this place isn't that fun. It's not even scary."
"No kidding," Cuphead says.
The three continue to walk through the maze, and not really having a good time.
Meanwhile, at a different part of the maze, the demons are searching around for their targets.
Soon, King Dice arrives and says, "Oh, hо!"
He chuckles and walks up to the pair of scorpion demons, Ladies. I've been looking for you two," And kneels to them, "You know, I was just thinking. Get rid of bright boy over there, and Cuphead and Red Rose are all ours."
Up ahead the Spider Demon is looking at the two paths and trying to think of which way to go
The demon groans, "Uh... Ah…"
The Scorpion demons chuckle to each other and crawl to the Spider Demon, King Dice snickers evilly as he rubs his hands together. The scorpions crawl over to the Spider Demon from behind. The Spider Demon turns around to see the two scorpions. They raise their tail with their anus and pierces at the Spider Demon.
"Huh?" The Spider Demon says, confused.
And then it pops.
"Ouch," King Dice says, and kneels to the demons, "You two are monsters. Oh, I sure hope you never turn on me!"
The two demons chuckle to each other and place to sting King Dice. King Dice then slides out of the way, and they end up pinching each other, and soon pop soon after.
King Dice scat joyously and says, "Yeah!"
Meanwhile, the three friends continue to walk around the maze.
Bored, Cuphead says, "Oh brother."
They soon see one of the demons ahead, it's kind of like a snapping turtle, but with a horn and sharp teeth.
The demon says, "Roar, roar."
"This is the worst one yet," Cuphead says, and pushes it down on its back.
Then Cuphead, Mugman, and Red Rose walk on the monster as they continue walking through the maze. The demon struggles to get out of its shell and is able to fall on its front and face. At the same time, the little blowfish like-demon arrives. Then the little demon belches out more fire and turns the snapping turtle demon into a crisp and it turns into ashes. King ice witnessed it and is surprised to see the demon so small have burned something bigger than it.
"Burpy buddy!" King Dice says, and picks up the little demon.
He chuckles and says, "Have I got plans for you."
Then little burpy chirps.
A little further in the maze, the three friends continue to walk around and try to find a way out.
"Yawn," Cuphead says, bored.
"You're not too pleased with the place, aren't you?" Red Rose questions.
"Not at all," Cuphead says.
Meanwhile, the wobbly flying eyeball tailing behind them. Meanwhile King Dice spots them and begins to set his plan into motion. After the demon flies by, King Dice comes out, squeezes Burpy, making it squeak and belches fire, burning the demon into dust.
"Bullseye!" King Dice says, and laughs.
He then scats happily as he begins to follow them. Howev
But, "Oh."
King Dice notices an intersection that goes forward, left, and Right.
He runs over and looks around, "Oh! Where did they go?"
At another part of the maze, the vulture-like demon spots Cuphead, Mugman, and Red Rose. It then begins to fly over them to follow as it warbles. The demon begins to cough and clears its throat, then spits out acid that hits the maze wall, and in front of the three friends.
"Wow, that was kinda cool," Cuphead says.
"Yeah, they're adding new stuff. Nice for the people who come back every year," Mugman says, and begins to walk through the hole.
The vulture demon gobbles and flies away.
Cuphead walks through the hole. And then Red Rose. However, a little piece of the acid lands on Red Rose's shoulder.
"Ow!" Red Rose yelps.
"You okay?" Cuphead asks.
"I'm fine. That stuff just landed on my sounder and it stings," Red Rose says.
Cuphead then touches the stuff on the wall and feels it hurting his hand.
"Ow!" Cuphead yelp.
Then realizes, "Hey, that's real acid."
He then smiles and says, "Neat!"
"I don't know about neat, but maybe they should be careful to make sure it doesn't hurt anyone," Red Rose says.
And the two continue to walk through the maze to catch up with Mugman.
Meanwhile, the vulture demon continues to fly by as it goggles. It begins to clear its throat so it can spit out more acid. But a belch and green fire appears, and turns it into dust. It's revealed that King Dice uses a little Burpy on it. He then blows the smoke from the little demon's mouth.
King Dice looks at the little guy and says, "Looks like it's just you and me, pal."
The little Burpy chirps.
King Dice then brings out a feather and begins to tickle the little demon by its nose.
Soon, it begins to go, "Ah... Ah... ACHOO!" and let out a sneeze.
That causes it to pop
King Dice evilly smirks and dust himself, "Gesundheit." He then chuckles and says, "Yeah." and begins laughing.
Back in the Underworld, Henchman has witnessed what has happened through the Devil's magic Mirror.
Just then, the Devil comes out wearing a towel around his body and head as he asks, "So, how are they doing?"
Henchman covers the mirror and reluctantly admits, "Uh, not so good. Dice is the only one left," and then removes his hands from the mirror for the Devil to see.
The Devil grumbles in anger as he narrows his eyes in anger.
Then says, "Then I have but one final recourse. To unleash the Four Horsemen." and says it in a dark tone.
Henchman gasps and worriedly says, B-but boss, they're untamed primordial beings. They fear nothing! To even lay eyes on them is enough to make anyone freeze in terror!"
However, the Devil commands, "Release them!"
"Ah jeez," Henchman replies, deeply concerned.
The gates to the underworld open and fire shoots out on the spot. Then, Four Horsemen ride out. The Four Horsemen are four skeletons with horns and a cap, and each having weapons riding on demon-like horses, with some of their bones exposed. They ride across the land to carry the Devil's tasks.
Meanwhile, Cuphead, Mugman, and Red Rose continue to walk through the maze, until they reach the exit up ahead.
"We're almost through the maze, and I'm still not frozen in terror!" Cuphead says with confidence.
Unknown to them, King Dice climbs on the hay bail wall and has a huge net. He chuckles and looks to see his two targets are up ahead.
Meanwhile the Four Horsemen continue charging with their weapons in the air, attempting to get their target.
Back at the maze, Mugman is holding the fake horse head.
"I don't know, Cuphead. Anything can happen," Mugman says, sounding confident.
"Heh! Oh, I think I know exactly what's gonna happen," Cuphead says.
Red Rose chuckles and shakes her head, "Try not to sound over confident, Cuphead."
Outside of the hay maze, the vendor returns and quickly grabs his hat. He then places his hat on his and prepares to walk away. That's when the Four Hosemens show up. The vendor gasps in fear frozen in terror, and white as a sheet.
Back in the maze, Mugman grins mischievously and holds the fake horse head in front of him, attempting to scare. Red Rose giggles and wonders what's going to happen.
"What's gonna happen is I'm gonna turn around, and you're gonna be holding that stupid-" Cuphead says, and turns around.
Suddenly, Cuphead gasps in shock and frozen in terror.
Mugman happily says, "Hah!"
And sings, "You're frozen in terror, you're frozen in terror!" and begins laughing.
King Dice turns and lets out a gasp as he frozen in terror and is white all over.
Mugman continues laughing, but he and Red Rose are unaware that the Four Horsemen are standing behind them.
"I told ya you were a little scaredy cup. Hello!" Muman says.
Mugman and Red Rose notice that Cuphead is still frozen in terror.
"Cuphead, are you okay?" Red Rose asks.
Cuphead doesn't respond.
"Is there something behind us?" Mugman wonders.
Mugman and Red Rose turn around to see the Four Horsemen. However, the Horses see the ugly looking horsehead. They become so frightened that they rise up as they knock their riders off, and run away.
Cuphead says, "This…"
"Is…" Mugman says.
Then they both happily cheer, "The greatest hay maze of all time!"
Red Rose giggles and says, "Yeah. I guess it kind of is."
Meanwhile, it shows that the Four Horsemen have landed in the apple bobbing barrel.
The First Horseman lifts his head up and says, "That feels better."
The second Horseman mumbles with an apple in his mouth. ( mumbles )
The Third Horseman says, "Horseman Number Two is right. Our horses ran away. That means we get the rest of the day off!"
The Fourth Horseman comes out and the two apples pop out of his head.
He then notices, "Oh hey! They got pumpkin pie!"
The Four Horsemen cheers in excitement and runs over.
The Horseman Four happily says, "I love pumpkin pie! I love pumpkin pie!"
King Dice however, is still frozen in terror. Then two kids walk through the maze and notice him.
One of them says, "Lame."
After a fun day, Cuphead, Mugman, and Red Rose reach the cottage as they laugh with smiles on their faces.
"Honestly, Mugsy, when we was kids, that horse mask did make me freeze in terror. But nothing scares me anymore," Cuphead says.
"Not even the Devil?" Mugman questions.
Red Rose questions, "I don't know about that. I mean, the last time we saw the Devil was at the Go-kart race and we haven't seen him since."
"Yeah. That was the last time we saw that guy," Cuphead says.
He smiles and says, "I guess you could say I ain't too worried about it. You should give it a shot. Feels pretty good."
Cuphead says and walks into the house. Red Rose follows Cuphead inside.
Mugman repeats Cuphead's words, "I'm not too worried about it?"
He smiles and says, "Hey! That does feel pretty good!"
Then Mugman walks inside the cottage and closes the door.
The Devil has witnessed everything and sees that all his plans have failed.
He grumbles and screams in rage.
Having enough, the Devil angrily says, "If you want something done right, I guess you have to do it yourself."
He takes his pitchfork to the ground and disappears with a poof, and reappears at the cottage. He angrily approaches the door to take Cuphead and Red Rose's souls himself.
But a familiar voice causes him to halt, "Excuse me!"
The Devil turns around to see, "Stickler!" and asks, "What are you doing here?"
"I have recounted the souls 36 times and have yet to locate-" Stickler explains.
But the Devil says, "Yes, yes, yes. I didn't get the brats' soul yet, but I am literally just about to- "
However, Stickler says, "Furthermore, the bylaws of Subsection 7, Paragraph 7 through 37," And holds out a book. Then has a magnifying glass at a specific page, "specifically signifies if you have failed to collect a soul within a 30-day period, the soul reverts to its original owner."
The Devil eyes wide in shock to hear the rule and Stickler slams the book shut.
"And it has been precisely 31 days, therefore your pursuit of said souls is unauthorized," Stickler adds.
The Devil remains shocked to hear the rule, and frowns angrily.
He then calmly smiles and shakes his head, "Stickler, Stickler, Stickler. I am going to get those souls one way or another."
Then glares at him, "Pity you won't be around to see it."
The Devil fires his pitchfork at Sticker, to obliterate him. However, Sticker isn't harmed at all, and a static charge surrounds part of his body.
The Devil is beyond shocked, "What?! You're wearing the-"
"Impenetrable, invisible sweater. I, myself, am at an undisclosed location," Stickler says.
"Take it off this instant so I can obliterate you!" The Devil demands in rage as he slams his pitchfork on the ground and stomps his feet.
But Sticker says, "I do not believe that would be in my best interest."
"I will eat your soul!" The Devil threatens and breathes.
"Not possible because of this impenetrable-" Stickler says.
Then the Devil screams on the top of his lungs, "SWEATER!" and screams in full rage.
He then stops screaming and slouches, "Oh, forget it."
He then walks into the elevator. Sticker follows soon after. The elevator closes and it goes back down to the underworld.
By that time, Cuphead opens the door, and calls out, "Hello?"
He looks around to see no one is there.
"Eh." Cuphead says and closes the door.
In the elevator, the Devil and Stickler are waiting until they reach the underworld ground floor.
"On the bright side, at least this day can't get any worse," Stickler says.
However, Stickler jinxes it, and the motor and the elevator come to a stop.
The Devil panics and presses the down button, "No! No, no, no, no, no! It's stuck." and lets out a groan.
Then Sticker says, "Looks like we'll be here for some time."
And suddenly, Stickler begins signing. The Devil facepalms his face and covers it as he lets out a groan. And it looks like this will take a long while.
