"Pound it!" The Duo of Paris cheered fisting bumping with each other as the swarm of glowing miraculous ladybugs finished repairing the destruction caused by their most recent battle. They had just got done with an intense fight with a plant controlling supervillain which turned out to be a florist. Now the superhero duo were standing on top of a common rooftop.
"I didn't expect an Akuma encounter so early in the day. Do you think Hawk Moth has something else up his sleeve?" Chat Noir asked his partner, Ladybug.
"I doubt it, this villain didn't feel like a ploy to distract us. Still, we shouldn't underestimate him," Ladybug replied.
"Of course! Anyways, I should get going now, Milady, " Chat Noir told her.
Ladybug tried to keep her calm composure, "What's the rush Chat Noir? Somewhere else Important you need to be?"
"Kinda? I'm just meeting up with someone for lunch," Chat Noir replied to her, sounding a bit nervous.
"Ohh, a lunch date? Who's the lucky person?" Ladybug teased him, making Chat Noir blush as he scratched the back of his blond hair. "I'm just teasing you, Chat Noir, you don't have to tell me. I wish you both a wonderful afternoon," she told him.
"Bug out!" She winked at him before getting out her polka dotted Yo-Yo and swung away. She had to get ready and prepare for her date with him as Marinette too.
…
Marinette checked the time on her phone again seeing that it has only been five minutes since she last checked. She sighed as she stood outside the local cafe waiting for her date. She knew Chat told her to go in and pick out seats if he was running late due to an Akuma attack. However, they had already defeated the Akuma earlier today. So unless Hawkmoth wanted to see her absolute fury for interrupting their date. She would advise her arch nemesis to keep it strictly one Akuma per day.
She also wished she could text Chat asking where he was. Yet, his baton didn't come with a phone number. Which meant the only way to contact him was as Ladybug. Which he probably would get suspicious of or worse, assume that Ladybug was spying on them.
She then closed her eyes wondering where her kitty was?. She was annoyed that he somehow managed to make her worry about him both with and without the mask on. She was almost tempted to transform and find him. At Least that way, she could meet him in person without risking her identity to him. If she doesn't end up dragging him by his belt tail to the restaurant instead.
She then opened up her purse to see Tikki looking up at her in concern. "Marinette, I know you're worried, but Chat Noir would have contacted us by now if he had to deal with a second Akuma victim or Senti-monster," she consoled her.
"I know Tikki, but what if we just quickly patrol the city?" Marinette asked her Kwami. "It wouldn't hurt to look around,"
"And if Chat Noir comes here and finds you missing?" Tikki countered.
"We won't be gone too long for him to even notice," Marinette answered. "Now Tikki spots-"
Suddenly she saw Tikki hide herself further with her purse as she quickly closed it. A loud thump came down as she turned around to see the cat themed superhero holding something in his arms.
"I'm so sorry that I'm running late, and you're probably furious with me," he said, making Marinette frown.
It's true that she was irritated and at times like these are when this stupid cat can drive her patience up the Effile Tower. However, she could never find it in her heart to be furious at him. She truly cared for Chat Noir and wanted nothing more than to embrace him right now.
"It's just that I wanted to get these flowers for you," Chat Noir told her, extending out his arms with a bouquet of…ruined pink and red roses.
Marinette then took the ruined bouquet from him. She examined the faded pink and red colored roses in her hands to see that most of them were crushed or damaged in some way.
"Chat…" she whispered, still looking at the bouquet.
"I know, you probably hate them. It's just my rotten luck! I actually brought them early today to give them to you in advance. However, right after buying them the florist got turned into a super villain and I had to hide them somewhere. After the fight was over, I went to where I hid them and saw they were destroyed. I guess someone must've accidentally stepped on them after the fight, which is why the Miraculous Ladybugs didn't repair them," Chat Noir explained to her.
"I traveled around the whole city trying to find the florist, but I couldn't find them anywhere. I guess they must've closed up shop and gone home to rest. Anyways, now they're ruined, and you deserve better than these crumpled things and I'm sorry!" Chat finished rambling as he then hung his head down in shame.
"They're beautiful!" Marinette spoke out.
Chat Noir opened his green eyes hearing that and was then surprised to feel Marinette wrapping her warm arms around him and embraced him in an affectionate tight hug.
"Thank you," Marinette told him.
"Huh? Y-You mean…you like them?" He asked her as he felt Marinette's hand come up to touch his cheeks.
"I love them," she said lovely before pressing her pink lips gently against both of his cheeks. Resulting in Chat Noir having a huge goofy grin on his face.
Marinette giggled at his reaction; she then took his hand with her own. While still holding onto her bouquet in the other. "Come on you silly cat, let's see if we can't find a good seat out in the sun."
