Scene Change: Fairy's Garden, Rep's Cave, Year x763

Rep POV

Making a lesson plan for the kids was the easy part, the hard part was getting them to listen long enough for the lessons to stick.

Laxus and Cana were not the best students when it comes to theoretical stuff, and I can say for sure that when it comes to history and literature that I would be better off trying to get one of the vulcan to become a priest. They were that bad at paying attention.

Honestly, I thought this would be a lot better. But the only lessons they really pay attention to are the magic lessons that I put together after hours of study in the library with a lot of help from HUD. They practically took to that like a fish to water, and whenever the lesson was over I could practically see the shadows around them get darker from their sadness.

Due to the difficulties in trying to get them to be patient enough to listen and Makarov explaining how the kids won't be needing it in the first place, I just dumped the History and Literature studies. They don't need em, but I am not having them skip out on Math and Science.

Fiore is running off of magic only and there is a form of science to that too, but the problem is that the fuels and energies I know of exist in this world too and are actually compatible with the technoilody they have. So if they were to use it then they might be able to advance some and maybe even have a way to defend themselves against Edolas if that world decides to invade.

Laxus and Cana don't really listen to the lectures I give on Math and Science unless I use Zero's voice, but still they're at least advancing.

Honestly though, this was just a strawman. I need to give the two of them something to avoid them getting arrogant. Those two are catching up to me in power, they'll surpass me soon enough when it comes to fighting. They still over-rely on their natural talents a bit too much, but even that isn't something I can use to beat them since power in and of itself tends to outdo skill.

They've managed to keep up with me in Zero form when working together, and I have managed to draw out as much of Model Z's power as I can. Pretty soon I'll have to switch over to one of the Guardian fragments and those biometals are weaker than X and Zero, so I won't be able to train the two of them correctly. I can only hope that upping my training in base form can compensate for the two of them growing so quickly but even then I doubt I will be able to keep my level up to train them properly.

Eventually they'll surpass me, probably not for a couple more years but that's only if I only use Zero and X. I still have to train myself in the other fragments, which are weaker than Zero and X. And I can't combine the fragments yet due to not having enough experience with the others yet. I could probably combine Z and X to make Model Zx but that isn't really a good idea since I know that the other forms will have utility to offer instead of just chasing more power.

For now, let's stick to using Model Z. At least for training Laxus and Cana, there are still some of Zero's techniques that I haven't quite mastered yet. And quite a few more ideas I have in mind that need Zero's dash jets to work. And if the Guardians use X as a model for their basic anatomy, then their dash jets aren't going to be as strong as Zero's.

I can only hope that I'll still be strong enough to train them for long.

Scene Change: Fairy's Garden, Training Grounds, Year x 763 (twenty minutes later)

Rep Pov

I thought today was just gonna be another typical training day with the kids. I wasn't really expecting any big changes just yet- like last time. Is this gonna be an annual thing?

"Morning," Said Bruno while he waved at me as I entered the training ground. Next to him were Laxus and Cana looking a little awkward around the jovial giant of a man.

"I heard from Master Makarov that you were training folks from the guild, and since you use the same magic as me I thought you might be able to give me a few pointers." He said with a wide smile on his face. "Plus I wanted to thank you for telling me about the guild in the first place, if it weren't for you, me and my wife would've been terrified of my arm for the rest of our lives."

"Not a problem with me," I said, shaking my head both to signify that I'm ok with it, as well as to shake off my surprise. "But are Laxus and Cana ok with it? I haven't really been training them in combat for the past week so I was planning to do that with them today."

At my question, Laxus and Cana shook their heads simultaneously. Still looking awkward around Bruno, why is that?

"Guess they are," He said shrugging, the smile on his face starting to look more fake the more I see it. "You mind helping me out again?"

"Sure." I nod, before turning to the kids. "Laxus, Cana just spar for a bit and work on those Math problems I left for you when you take your breaks."

At that the kids break away from Bruno eagerly, walking over to the side of the training grounds that they go to whenever I train on my own.

"Alright, Activate your magic." I say turning to Bruno. "I need to see what we're working with."

As I finish, Bruno activates his magic. A purple magic circle with the face of a 'beast' in the center appearing below his arm, before it moves up his arm turning into the arm of a forest vulcan as it travels before stopping at his shoulder turning it into the same species of Beast and leaving his arm completely covered in green fur save for the purple patch of skin in the shape of an heart with the Fairy Tail guild symbol within it, and his fingers and palm which are the same shade of purple.

So he can use the 'Beast Arm' spell, how much further can he go?

After I ask him that question, Bruno moves to explain that it's the only spell from Take Over that he can use. Apparently he came to me to see if there was anything to the magic that he was missing besides 'Full Body' which is something he wants to avoid, heeding my advice to Makarov.

"Well," I said, taking on the classic lecture pose of Rin Tohsaka and drawing on all the information that I gave to HUD a while back regarding Take Over magic. "There are many spells within Take Over that can be used besides 'Limb Transmutation' like 'Arma Enchant' or even 'Sensory Enhancement'."

"But these spells take a high level of understanding and control over your magic power to be able to do this, something that is only really typical to young mages or mages who by nature have small reserves." I said, shaking my head a little to sort through my thoughts. "You wouldn't be able to use the spells unless you train for years to reach that level of control, not unless you have some sort of- Actually give me a minute. I might have something for you."

I interrupted myself mid-way through the lecture as an idea hit me. Getting out of the lecture pose, I pretend to look closely at Bruno's arm.

'HUD analyze subject 'Bruno Strauss' utilizing the combined Variant Weapons System and Zero Learning Algorithm.' I thought, commanding HUD to activate X and Zero's signature systems. Bruno stiffening up a bit for some reason, as I do so.

As I have HUD do that, I look more closely at Bruno's arm, taking a look at it's anatomy. Trying to find the dimensions of it and see how it would affect his balance while fighting and break down a way for him to take advantage of it without giving his opponents any openings. It doesn't appear to affect his balance all too much, at least not from the way he's standing. But simultaneously I can't help but think it has to have some form of increased mass to it, otherwise there would be no use for changing his arm for increased strength like this.

Finishing my own, 'analysis' HUD beamed the information he gathered from Bruno. Giving me a basic summary about Bruno's magic and core's reserves. It looks like his core is a little underdeveloped if I were to compare it to my own, let alone to Macao and Wakaba. So he has the possibility of being able to use the spells I just listed, though there is the chance of him accidentally permanently changing his body it is practically a guaranteed success with the idea I have for him.

"Ok, so after using my sensory magic on you I might have an idea for you to get that control to use the other spells." I say returning to the Tohsaka lecture pose, Bruno relaxing as I do so. "It's a basic control exercise, something I have the kids do often to teach them how to properly control their magic output."

"Something the kids do?" Bruno asked, a look in his eyes that I can't quite recognize. "Is it something you have them do that makes them so much stronger?"

"Yeah," I said, nodding my head at the question. "It simultaneously helps the kids learn how to control their magic, while helping them to grow their reserves."

"What is it?" He asked excitedly, like the kids when I first taught them the very same exercise I'm about to have him do.

"Essentially, you are going to expend as much magic as you can until your reserves reach a certain point." I say while commanding HUD to begin a constand analysis on Bruno. "I'll be keeping an eye on you until you hit that point, at which point I'll tell you to stop. And you have to learn how to use your most energy-expensive spell using just that much magic power."

As I say this, Bruno starts to look pale at the idea. Just like the kids yet again, I still don't understand why they were so scared. I mean, it's not like I'm gonna just let them die from exhaustion.

"Just so you know, I do this exercise myself." I say, pointing my finger up to punctuate what I was about to say. Attempting to make Bruno less scared. "Every day before I spar with the kids."

After I said that, Bruno looked even more scared. The opposite effect of what I was trying to do.

"You and the kids, drain your magic cores." He said emphasizing those four words. "To train! Are you insane!?"

"What are you going on about?" I ask dropping the lecture pose once again and try to give him an exasperated look. "I have sensory magic, so I can monitor when we go too far."

"That still doesn't-" He stopped himself halfway, wide-eyed as if he just realized something. "You do this with the kids every day too?"

"Yeah," I nodded my head. "We do that everyday, especially if we're not sparring. Right before we do physical training to build up muscles better since they wouldn't be reinforcing their muscles using magic power and after studying to help them make the most of their rest time when they get home."

"In that case, I guess its ok." He said albeit reluctantly.

"I'll be working on a new form while training you got it?" I said, thinking about how I could use this to improve myself while training him.

"Ok," He said, nodding his head. "I didn't realize you have another form, how many do you have?"

"I don't know." I said, shaking my head while remembering the info HUD gave me about the biometals adapting to me as I adapt to them. "Potentially I could have about sixteen transformations. I think."

As I said that, Bruno looked wide eyed. Again. How many times is he gonna look like that?

"You might have sixteen transformations." He stated, looking at me as if I was an alien, just like Makarov and everyone else all those other times. "Sixteen Take Over transformations."

"Yeah," I said, nodding my head trying to remember all the combinations. "Seven spirits, each creating a form on their own. And I have various forms that can come from combining the spirits."

"You can combine the spirits," Said Bruno, slowly as if trying to make sense of it. "I thought that was an advanced spell that only masters of Take Over could do."

"It is," I said, nodding my head and practically pulling this line of reasoning out of my butt. "My branch is just inherently able to do it, especially since the spirits I have were able to do that before I got them. I just got lucky."

"Right."

"Anyways, let's get to the training exercise." I said while manifesting Model H in my hand. "Start exerting your magic power, I'll tell you when to speed up or slow down."

As I finish stating that I move Model H to face away from me and get into my transformation stance and say:

"Megamerge."

In a flash of that familiar light, the armor that Model Z had clad me in dissappeared my hair shortening with it, alongside that abundance of energy that Zero had given to me. Only to be replaced by armor that was even lighter than Zero's was, and another well of energy appearing. This one being significantly lower than Zero or X's.

As the light died down, I noticed the green and white armor now covering my limbs, a slight weight on my back instead of my head this time. That was probably the wings from Harpuia.

As I looked back up at Bruno I noticed that the analysis that HUD was running on him was a lot more detailed now, even listing his weakpoints and the exact percentage that he had. Looks like I don't need HUD to run diagnostics anymore, and can have him focus on other matters now that I've got the "Analyze System" from Harpuia.

"Seems that this form has a bit more to it than I expected." I said in a cultured almost arrogant tone, looks like Harpuia's influence is already showing itself. "My sensory magic has improved greatly."

As I said this, acting on the new experience running through my head granted by Model H. I took off and started hovering a few feet off the ground before looking in Bruno's direction. Him looking shocked and awed by my new form.

"Get to it," I say, while commanding HUD to keep a watch on my new lowered reserves remembering that I now have a lot less energy to work with. "My newly improved sensory magic will allow me to keep an eye on you while I train."

As I say this, I immerse myself in the experiences of Model H. Summoning Harpuia's signature twin sabers, I started practicing the sword forms contained within Model H while flying. It was a new experience simultaneously familiar and alien, to fight while flying. Familiar due to both the experience contained within Model H and all of my own experience with the mid-air maneuvers that I used as Model X and unfamiliar due to the lack of the feeling of gravity pulling me back to the ground.

Though I was really distracted, and somewhat elated by the feeling of flying, I still kept an eye on the "Analysis System" that was trained on Bruno. Making sure that his now steadily declining reserves don't dip past twenty percent.

With a beam of info, HUD gave me an approximation of the energy needed to recreate some of the attacks I've seen the chosen one of Model H do. I can create one attack before I run out of energy and become unable to sustain the flight module that is granted to me by the new form.

Might as well, right? Maybe even throwing in some lightning outta make it a better show too.

Grasping at the shrunken reserves in me, alongside the ether reserves that are still large as they were before remaning unchanged from the change in anatomy. I start flying in a circling motion, tilted to my left and both blades facing in front of me as I charge them with the wind manipulating energy created from the sunlight reserves and lightning magic from my ether.

This made it so that I ended up creating a small vortex that had various streaks of lightning shooting outward in a controlled manner, due in thanks to the experience from Harpuia doing the same thing centuries before the biometal was created.

As I finished with my last attack and began to slow, my reserves now practically empty save for the bit I rationed for sparring with Bruno. I stopped the process and flew out of the vortex landing next to Bruno who I signaled to stop, with him doing so and collapsing due to him not being used to having so little magic power flowing through his system after learninghow to use it.

As I did this, I saw Laxus and Cana watching the newly formed "Lightning Tornado" as it dissipated from the missing power source. Laxus looked especially amazed at the attack, probably because it included his element of lightning.

Shaking my head, trying to stave off Harpuia's effects on my personality. I turn to Bruno using the "Analysis System" to make sure I didn't push him too far. After verifying he was ok I offered my hand to help him up, which he took albeit shakily.

"What was that?" He asked, gesturing to the area where the now gone tornado once was. "I've never even heard of a spell that uses two different elements at the same time."

"Then you probably have never heard of the Abyss Break," I said, pointing to the first multi-elemental spell I could think of. "Either way, this form is specialized in Storm Magic. Which is a magic created from a combination of lightning and wind magic. So, I should be able to do that more easily and multiple times once I master this form like I did the other two."

"You haven't mastered this? How is that not mastered?" I heard Bruno whisper to himself as I turned to see Laxus and Cana running over. Looks like I retained Zero's enhanced hearing, guess I stayed in Zero form long enough to gain that. Actually.

'HUD, do I still have the Learning Algorithm in my baseline systems?' I ask, with HUD responding with the usual beam of info. Telling me that I do, in fact still have it. It's just running in a reduced capacity that is made up for using the 'Analysis System' of Harpuia.

How many times am I going to have the system become reduced in some capacity only for it to end up improving by the new addition to it? Is this going to end up becoming a thing for every time I gain a new form?

"Is this your lightning form you told us about?" Asked Laxus, finally getting over the shock and walking over with Cana. "And what was that? Could you teach me how to do that?"

"Yes, this is my lightning form." I say, quickly going over the new data on the technique I just used. "And I think I might be able to teach you something similar to that but it won't be the exact same. You would need wind magic to replicate it completely otherwise."

"Why are all of your spells so complicated?" asked Laxus in a deadpan, Cana doing the same. Bruno still hasn't come out of his dumbfounded look, though he is slowly recovering.

"I honestly don't know," I said, still using the experience contained in Model H to get used to now having wings. "Most of the spells I know were already in my spirits so I have no idea where it came from."

"Speaking of, how did you get more spirits?" asked Bruno, finally having managed to fully recover from his shock. "I still haven't managed to get more than just a vulcan spirit."

"How to get more spirits is dependent on multiple factors." I said getting into the Tohsaka lecture pose, it's become a habit. I only did it as a joke and now I actually need it. May as well get the day's lecture out of the way while I'm at it, my body is still adapting to Model H after all. "These factors are; the strength of the target, the strength of the user, the type of magic the target uses, the branch of Take Over the user falls on, and how exactly you execute Take Overs in the first place which is a whole other can of worms; like 'do you use it directly on your body; if so how many limbs?' and 'Do you use full body, if so what kind of metamorphosis is it?' so on."

Time to use another day to give a lecture about magic, I'll just have to push the kids a little harder tomorrow to make up for today. And probably study what I know on Take Over maybe theorize, I have already given almost everything I know on it to Makarov so Bruno coming to me for more is a bad thing if I want to maintain my connection to the guild. Maybe I could have HUD use Model H's 'Analysis System' on the vulcan to get a better idea? That might help me maintain my ability to help Bruno out in general.

I have a lot more to study now, since when did I start going back to school? I thought I was a teacher not a student!

Sorry for the being so short guys, I've been getting ideas for other fics and wanted to write them down and make prologues for them just in case I end up abandoning this one. And if you wanted to see more of Model Z or Model H just know that Model Z is going to continue to be used whenever Laxus and Cana are being trained. As for Model H he just started working on that form, so please expect more of it.

I can't tell if the story is getting boring due to the recluse lifestyle that Rep has right now, so please review or DM or something if I should change things up, please. I honestly need the feedback and am getting the feeling I'm messing up here.
