Hey everypony! What's up!?
So this has been something on my mind ever since I saw Sunset's Backstage Pass, in that I really ship Sunset with Human Pinkie, (And I say Human Pinkie, since she is separate from the Pony Pinkie) they make a really good pair of friends and maybe something more in the future…
So I thought what if Sunset decided to make it official… Well here we go!
Chapter 1: The Proposal
Another school day was ending at Canterlot High School, students walking out the front entrance, chatting with each other, ready to go home as inside the school, teachers were finishing up their work. At the principal's office, a young red and yellow haired woman was sitting at her desk, staring at something contained in a small box.
She was ripped from her focus by some gentle knocks on her door as she shook her head, turning her attention to the door.
"Come in." The woman called as the door opened to reveal a purple haired young woman with a smile on her face.
"Hey Sunset, everything ready for tonight?" The visitor asked.
"Yeah, Twilight I think so…" The red and yellow haired woman, Sunset, answered.
"What's wrong, aren't you excited,, you're finally going to pop the question to her." Twilight keeping her smile as Sunset sighed.
"I am… But I just have this fear in the back of my head that she'll say no…" Sunset revealed, but Twilight didn't change her expression.
"Sunset, it has been ten years since you two officially started dating and you two are still together, she'll say yes." Twilight assured Sunset. "It's Pinkie, you know her better than the rest of our friends, you love her and she loves you, it'll be okay."
"Yeah, you're right, thanks Twilight." Sunset finally smiled as she closed the small box, making sure to put it safely in her bag, however she still felt a little nervous, it was going to be a life changing experience for her…
Sunset exited the school, making sure to lock the front entrance as she made her way to her car, waving goodbye to Twilight as she departed herself. Sunset driving to her apartment as she had a lot on her mind, entering the building as she unlocked the door to be greeted by a happy sight.
"Welcome home my Sunny Bunny!" A pink haired young woman greeted as she wrapped her arms around Sunset. "Missed you."
"Pinkie, it's only been like half a day, since we both left for work since we last saw each other." Sunset playfully rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, half a day without you." Pinkie chuckled. "Anyway, I'm so excited for tonight, we're going to have such a fun night." Pinkie smiled.
"Yeah, ten years since our first date, can't believe it has been that long." Sunset said. "Listen, I'm just going to freshen up a little and then we can go." Sunset told Pinkie.
"Okay, don't take too long honey." Pinkie giving Sunset a quick kiss on the cheek before Sunset went to the bathroom in the apartment she shared with her girlfriend.
As Sunset entered her bathroom, she washed her face and looked at herself in the mirror, panting a little and trying to calm down, nervousness going through her as she thought she was ready, but turned out… Maybe not…
"No… You can do this Sunset…" Sunset encouraged herself as she stayed in the bathroom for a few minutes more and came out to see Pinkie was patiently waiting for her. "Sorry I took some time, ready?"
"Ready when you are." Pinkie replied as the two hooked arms with each other, exiting their apartment as despite the day getting a little chilly, the two decided to walk, since it was a short walk, to the restaurant they were going to enjoy another date tonight, only it was going to be more than that…
Sunset, her arm still hooked with Pinkie, told the front desk their reservation as the waiter took them in, only Sunset stayed back for a minute.
"I'll be there in a minute Pinkie." Sunset told her girlfriend as she made sure Pinkie was out of hearing range before speaking to the person at the front desk. "Hey, I need a favor."
"What is it ma'am?" The person wondered as Sunset took out the small box from her bag.
"I'm going to pop the question to her tonight…" Sunset began as the person smiled. "After we finish dessert, I'm going to pretend to use the restroom, when I do, I need our waiter to come by and take her attention, I'll take it from there than."
"That sounds great, I'll be sure to pass the word." The person promised as Sunset said, "Thank you." before joining Pinkie at their table.
"Sorry about that, I just needed to ask something." Sunset apologized as Pinkie wasn't upset.
"It's okay Sunset, I just asked for some wine to start things off, if that's okay with you." Pinkie giving her infectious smile.
"Of course." Sunset smiled back as speaking of which, their drinks came, two glasses of red wine as the two raised them up. "Here's to our ten year anniversary." Sunset touching glasses with her girlfriend as they both took a sip.
The two enjoyed a great dinner, chatting about the day as well as reflecting on past memories, laughing and smiling as dessert eventually came about, the two sharing that as they were done, having full and satisfied bellies. Sunset knew it was time as she wiped her mouth, a small part of her felt it hard to get up and it wasn't from all the food she just ate. However, summing up her courage, she got up from her chair.
"I just need to use the restroom, I'll be right back." Sunset told her girlfriend, making sure to bring her bad with her and giving Pinkie a quick kiss before leaving and well as promised… Their waiter came and took Pinkie's attention so she couldn't turn to look at Sunset.
Sunset got to the restroom door, but didn't enter it, instead taking out the small box… Which held a diamond ring. Sunset found it hard to breathe, taking out her focus on the rest of the world and just on the ring before looking at Pinkie, who's back was currently present to Sunset.
"You been with her for ten years Sunset… It's about time I do…" Sunset kept telling herself as she found the little push she needed to return and get it done…
Walking back to the table, Sunset got down on one of her knees, holding out the box with the diamond ring before clearing her throat and speaking just loud enough for Pinkie to hear…
"Pinkie…" Sunset spoke. "Could you turn around please?" Sunset asked as Pinkie excused herself from their waiter to find the biggest surprise of her life…
Pinkie couldn't say anything as she knew what this was right away. She simply held her hands over her mouth as happy tears began to come from her eyes. Meanwhile everyone else present in the restaurant stopped enjoying their own nights to witness this beautiful event, but Sunset only kept her gaze on her soon to be wife.
"Pinkie, we been dating for ten years now, and knew each other longer still…" Sunset began. "I know when we first knew each other, I wasn't the nicest, but then we became friends, went to school together and eventually fell in love as we graduated and began our jobs, staying together through all that time… And it made me realize that you're the only one for me and I want to stay with you for the rest of my life…"
Sunset paused, letting her words sink in before asking the most important question of her life…
"Pinkie, will you marry…" Sunset began, but couldn't finish as Pinkie finally spoke.
"YES, YES, A MILLION TIMES YES!" Pinkie loudly shouted and just launched herself at Sunset, hugging her and nearly sending the two tumbling down to the restaurant floor while everyone else in the restaurant began clapping their hands and cheering for the two.
Pinkie and Sunset however, just kept their focus on each other as Sunset recovered from her girlfriend, well now fiancee, hugging and holding tightly onto her, as Sunset returned the favor before the two looked at each other in the eyes.
"It's about time you asked me, I was wondering when you were going to do it." Pinkie joked as Sunset gave a small chuckle. "I love you so much Sunny Bunny."
"Love you too Pinkie." Sunset smiled as the two then shared a passionate kiss, savoring the new chapter in their lives as now they had a wonderful wedding to look froward to…
And I'll leave it there for next time! I hope you enjoyed this and looking froward to the wedding, which will be the end, since this is only a short two chapter story!
